• Welcome to the Internet Infidels Discussion Board.

Well... it's Trump... again. #47, here we go.

You are wasting your time. As things stand Trump is the first President in a long time to fuck the stock market... repeatedly. And he opened up a potential line regarding retaliation against China, that can send the market down even more.

Trump is breaking our industrial capacity. He is making costs go up. And all he can do is claim otherwise on his boutique social media website. Trump is endangering America by removing it from the free trade sphere.
There is still an out for Trump...he can pull the tariffs and blame Ron Varo.
The trouble we are getting to now is that while the globe would welcome him dropping the tariffs, his word doesn't mean shit. No one trusts him now. Period. Art of the Deal? No one will want to make a deal because he has demonstrated he doesn't stand by them.

So if Trump backs off, he'll look like a fool (the fool he is) for no gain. So does he fuck the global economy to try and save face? Well, we know the extent Trump will go for the sake of his image.

I didn’t make that claim. There was plenty of American propaganda, primarily from Trump himself, to disinform his voters.

Earlier you stated that the electorate had been fooled by propaganda. This is conspiracy theory nonsense. What propaganda fooled the electorate and where was it coming from?

Pretty much everything Trump said.

I see, a political FASCIST campaign is "propaganda". Got it. 🙄
FIFY

The market appears to be desperately hoping there was a reason Fox and Friends mentioned a 90-day pause.... and have set the drop on pause themselves. For the moment.

It is when it is full of lies. Yes.

And I still see you haven’t addressed the incompetence of the Trump administration. I will accept your lack of response as agreement.

Duh. Of course it is.

What do you think 'propaganda' is??

His debate performance showed just how bad he was. It couldn’t be covered up any longer.
That didn't stop Rump, did it.
Debates being equal, Biden is still the better president.

Brandon doesn’t know where he is half the time. Who was actually running the Whitehouse?
The current incarnation of Brandon is busy trying to find a way to derive maximum profit off being Prez while escaping any responsibility for the damage done in process. A Hun pillaging our modern Rome.

We are where we because the Dems done fucked up. And they are going to fuck up in 2028.
Okay. But which economy would you rather be in? Trump or Biden? Did 401k do better under Biden or Trump?

It isn't Trump's fault he is needlessly driving our country, and probably the entire first world, in to a recession, it's the Democrats fault for not winning the election.

When it gets to that point, one needs to consider just how obsessed they are with the Democrats.

Okay. But which economy would you rather be in? Trump or Biden?

I'm not sure how to answer this. I don't really know how well or badly the economy was doing under Brandon. And since Trump has been in office only a few months, it's hard to say how the economy will turn out. I'm not really one to study the economy closely.

Did 401k do better under Biden or Trump?

lol, obviously my retirement funds are taking a hit just now. I am not looking to see how big a hit, I'm too scared to look! I was toying with retiring at the end of this year but that is looking unlikely.

Less likely than it was three months ago, I presume.
That answers the question.
Not looking at the performance of your assets has more downside than upside IMO.

We’re in the same boat!

Holy fuck, is it really possible to be as ignorant, as incurious, and as bad at prediction as you are claiming to be here?

Like, the US economy is literally a disaster right now. It's such a huge disaster that it has gone from the financial pages to the front page headlines.

That you "don't really know how well or badly the economy was doing" is a pretty big hint that it was nothing special. No news may not be good news, but it's not obviously bad news either.

The economy will probably "turn out" fairly well, in the very long term. But right now, your dickhead president is taking a fucking fire-axe to it, and nobody seems willing and able to stop him.

You appear to have decided to completely divorce yourself from reality. The bad news is that reality still exists, and you will end up paying the alimony regardless of your level of denial.

With all of the hostages returned and Hamas gone from Gaza and a peace deal between Ukraine and Russia and America solidly on the road to permanent fortunes, President Trump looks for what else he can fix.

By my count this is day 78 of Trump II: Dumb and Dumberer. The damage this sociopath has done in less than 3 months is almost beyond comprehension. Some of it is generational -- some is probably unfixable. I'll no doubt leave out some horrors, but these stand out:
> initiated hogwild deportations, including a mistaken identity case that sent a man to an El Salvadoran prison (he's still there)
> initiated the harrassment of a political enemy's list (Vindman et al.)
> firing of -- so far -- over 200,000 government employees, including specialists in education, medical research, disaster response, and of course -- always the aim of the conman and fraudster -- firing the inspectors general
> setting up a cabinet of blindly obedient and thoroughly unfit individuals, which has already seen an unprecedented scandal of military secrets put on a text chain for the world to see. Heads should be rolling, but this is a Republican government, so, just ignore it.
> berserk and threatening talk about taking Greenland and therefore attacking a NATO "ally"
> telling the world that the Panama Canal meant absolutely nothing, and we intend to take the canal
> telling the world that the U.S. will take Gaza, and that our solution to the problem is to deport the Palestinians and create some sort of resort (which is just as berserk as his Greenland fulminations)
> ganging up on Zelensky, who is fighting the valiant fight of our time against Russian aggression, in a nauseating shout-out in the WH with his attack terrier Vance at his side
> so deeply insulting Canadians with his -- pardon the repetition -- berserk talk that Canada should give up its sovereignty and join MAGA world as one of our states, that Canada's leaders are saying that the era of friendly partnership of our nations has ended. Fucking unreal.
> cranking up a trade war with faux grievances (especially against Canada) and against, largely, the world (if you leave Russia out of it), which in some cases abrogates trade agreements he himself made in Trump I.
> wiping out $6 trillion in wealth since last week -- thanks, dickhead. Tanking the stock market and setting up a serious uptick in inflation (soon) and the visceral possibility that a bad recesssion looms ahead.
> just in case you forgot how his first Presidency ended, he continues to drop hints that there's a way he can stay in power past Jan. 2029...
Trump has single-handedly ended America's position of leadership in the Free World. No one can calculate what it would take to regain the respect of the other developed democracies. It may never return. Who would trust us now?
I can't see how we come out of this as a country in another 1380 days.

Some people have asked "What time period was America so great that you want to return to?"

Trump has answered: the greatest time period for America was 1870 to 1913. That is what he wants to return us to:

Don't forget, women couldn't vote back then, so we were much more stable with a learned gentleman class of voters too.

:ROFLMAO:

1870 was also the beginning of the end of Reconstruction -- tough times for all Americans of color. And of course Trump would have fit in just swell with the Gilded Age plutocrats. He could've run swanky whorehouses like his grandpa.

Okay. But which economy would you rather be in? Trump or Biden?

We don't need to know.

Just look at the market. A large number of people who are very skilled at predicting how things will go is saying things are going in the crapper.

Painter of ‘truly the worst’ Trump portrait says president’s comments threaten her art career

The painter whose portrait of Donald Trump was removed from the Colorado state Capitol after the US president branded it “truly the worst” says the criticism has put her four-decade art career at risk.

In a statement published to her personal website, portraitist Sarah A. Boardman said Trump’s allegation that she “purposefully distorted” his image was “directly and negatively impacting my business… which now is in danger of not recovering.”
The portrait was commissioned by Colorado Republicans, after they raised more than $10,000 for the project through a GoFundMe campaign.

Boardman had earlier defended the work from criticism of a very different kind — that Trump’s expression, which she described in the Colorado Times Recorder as “serious, non-confrontational (and) thoughtful,” did not reflect the president’s temperament.

“My choice of references comes from my decision to remain neutral, and let the criticisms stand on their own throughout time,” she told the newspaper in 2019, referring to the photograph on which her painting was based. “The portrait is not designed for just one faction of the population.”
