The Race For 2024

The time to judge Trump v Biden will be in 4 years.
Or possibly a lot sooner. But I think we can all look at Brandon today and agree we dodged a bullet because there is no way that man could have possibly served another term as president.

since he wasn’t even on my ballot I had no fear of having to live through another Biden term.

President Trump said:
“Tariffs are gonna make us rich as hell,” Trump claimed onstage Monday. “They’re gonna bring our country’s businesses back that left us.”

Let's just say we all get "rich as hell", wouldn't that cause massive inflation?
Hey, what’s not to like? You can sell an egg for $10 and everyone is rich enough to still buy them … once in a while.
If you told an 1800s American that American average income would be $60,000, they’d say everyone was rich.
Far from it.

Even if he was on your ballot and if he had been elected, the likelihood of you or Brandon (Brandon in particular) living through another four years were slim.

I doubt it. Hell famously has no money at all, as summarised by the well known phrase or saying "You can't take it with you", so "rich as hell" is about as poor as anyone can get.

If he croaked and nobody was ever sworn in to replace him we’d have had thousands of times better leadership than The Felon we’re saddled with today.

Good lord

It is astonishing that just a few short months ago that many in the democratic party (and here) said this was the guy for a second term as president.

We dodged a bullet folks. That's not a joke, I really mean it.

We could cope with a president with dementia--Reagan was out of it, the nation went on.

But instead we get the current atrocity.

Seen the messages going around from people who had accepted government jobs, relocated and had them yanked because The Felon imposed a hiring freeze? (In the private sector that would be grounds for a civil case for costs.)

See the stuff about him doing away with major swaths of cybersecurity?

Show them current reality and they would say most everyone is rich.

I'm not finding data back that far, the earliest I've found is 1929. Current per capita real dollar GDP is 7x what it was then.

I find the last minute pardons most intriguing. I wonder what they people pardoned might have done to need a pardon.

article said:
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has decided to remove retired Gen. Mark A. Milley’s security detail, revoke his security clearance, and order an inspector general inquiry into his behavior as the Pentagon’s top officer, a senior defense official said Tuesday, taking extraordinary action against a frequent target of President Donald Trump.

...

Hegseth’s plan, first reported by Fox News, is part of the new defense secretary’s effort to reestablish “warfighter culture” in the Pentagon, the senior defense official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to avoid backlash. The official portrayed Milley as a political operator while in the chairman role and said there is desire to “take a star” from him, meaning administration officials want to see Milley demoted in retirement.

So Harris actually had an interview with Joe Rogan scheduled.

Her aides scheduled the rally for a Friday night in the fall—October 25—in Texas! It was as if no one on her team knew that the night reserved for high school football was more sacred than Easter in the state. Campaign adviser David Plouffe responded to the criticism publicly, explaining that Harris wanted to shine a spotlight on a place where she believed Trump’s anti-abortion policies had done the most damage to women’s health.

Only a few people knew the real reason: the whole Houston rally was built to put her in proximity to Rogan. The ongoing negotiations on that were touch-and-go.

Flaherty had called his Rogan contacts on October 18, before the rally was set.

“We could do Friday, the 25th,” Flaherty said.

“Wish we had known about this sooner, because he has the 25th blocked out as a personal day,” one of Rogan’s reps said.

“What about Saturday morning?” Flaherty countered.

“Only if it’s before 8:30 a.m.,” came the tough reply.

The tone is different, Flaherty thought. The vice president of the United States is offering to come to your f‑‑‑ing show, and you keep putting up more hoops. Harris’s team still wanted to make it work, but a new wariness set in.

On October 22, the same day the Harris camp announced the rally, the Associated Press reported that Trump would be Rogan’s guest on Friday—the “personal day” Rogan had originally reserved.

Mutual friends Elon Musk and Dana White had convinced Trump and Rogan to bury their dispute, according to a Trump aide. There would be no Harris interview.

Trump lost. That is, if all legal voters were allowed to vote, if all legal ballots were counted, Trump would have lost the states of Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Georgia. Vice-President Kamala Harris would have won the Presidency with 286 electoral votes.
And, if not for the mass purge of voters of color, if not for the mass disqualification of provisional and mail-in ballots, if not for the new mass “vigilante” challenges in swing states, Harris would have gained at least another 3,565,000 votes, topping Trump’s official popular vote tally by 1.2 million.

Stay with me and I’ll give you the means, methods and, most important, the key calculations.

But if you’re expecting a sexy story about Elon Musk messing with vote-counting software from outer space, sorry, you won’t get that here.

America’s Nasty Little Secret

The nasty little secret of American democracy is that we don’t count all the votes. Nor let every citizen vote.

In 2024, especially, after an avalanche of new not-going-to-let-you-vote laws passed in almost every red state, the number of citizens Jim Crow’d out of their vote soared into the millions. According to the Brennan Center for Justice, since the 2020 election, “At least 30 states enacted 78 restrictive laws” to blockade voting. The race-targeted laws ran the gamut from shuttering drop boxes in Black-majority cities to, for the first time, allowing non-government self-appointed “vote fraud vigilantes” to challenge voters by the hundreds of thousands.

Throughout election seasons, The New York Times and NPR and establishment media write stories and editorials decrying vote suppression tactics, from new ID requirements to new restrictions on mail-in voting. But, notably, the mainstream press never, ever, not once, will say that these ugly racist attacks on voters changed the outcome of an election.
A lot to take into consideration.

I will take a look but a quick question would be this: was there a significant difference between the availability of the vote to these people in 2020 versus 2024? Was there a large change that prevented all those who voted for Biden to not have their Harris votes counted?

That's actually addressed in the article.

How do you like your odds now that your boy is five weeks in, and already threatening World War Three with you on Russia’s side?

From what? We’re the aggressors now.
Force de dissuasion

It's all coming out now. How the Brandon administration lied and tried to cover up the state of Brandon's dementia.
Hilariously, Jake Tapper says he was lied to when he was a major part of the cover up. tut-tut Jake, you toady.
