He was counting the Bill of Rights as part of the original ratification, and isn't technically correct -- the Constitution was ratified in 1788 and the BoR in 1791. What happened in 1789 was the 1st Congress convened.

They first 10 Amendments were part of the original ratification. The 18th Amendment was for the prohibition of alcoholic beverages and the 21st Amendment repealed it.

China is fixed in an intrauterine ideology rooted in communism. China is a bad actor. Someone who wants to paint China as preferable to the USA or the the west in general is not paying attention to history, current events, and how cheap labor was and is explored by the CCP.

As to equity. From reporting in China I heard it said as you move out form the modern areas areas it is like walking back in time.

Laborers working at factories typically do not make enough ti buy the products. China keeps wages low, but that hinders the development of a censurer based economy. Creating a consumer economy in China to grow the economy and decrease dependence on exports is an issue in China.

There arer huge industrial complexes some built by FOXCON from Taiwan employ rural workers. Order is mantes by the army. Workers are hosed.

If you do not like Trump and what he is trying to do to opposition look at what the CCP did to Hong Kong. Sae in the mainland. Political opposition and criticism is suppressed.

Closed newspapers and jailed journalists. Jailed political opposition and replaced with CCP stooges, ended Hong Kong democracy.

There is a free press free speech movent. I think concessionaires were made b y the CCP to allow some investigate resorting at the local level.

I keep seeing this claim that communism or atheism has killed 100 million people, but no see no attempt to justify these numbers. Mao, Stalin, Pol Po, et al? And that religion and capitalism and killed far less. Can we see some backup for these numbers? Backup That does not lead to the counter claim that war and resistance are not equally to blamer for those numbers, such as the claim that Putin is responsible for all the deaths in the Ukranian war??

It's a much-used ploy in Christian apologetics. The writer will point out that some of the most horrible mass slaughters in history were carried out by atheistic leaders -- Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot. They usually leave out Hitler, who was Catholic and sometimes claimed to be doing God's will. They'll tie atheists to these dictators. What they'll never say is that most wars are carried out by leaders who claim to be theists, so the number game doesn't work to their advantage (although it's a stupid argument in the first place.)

Also they ignore that it wasn't the leaders who did the killings, but their followers, who, in the cases of Germany and the Soviet Union, were Christians.

Sounds like gods are irrelevant; To get massacres and genocides, you need faith, not gods.

I can't address Russia. China, the Cultural Revolution. A couple million dead (very approximate), something like 50 million dead from mismanagement. Of course there is no proper data on this as China has the habit of simply omitting undesirable history. My wife has told me a few things of that time, I do not want to stir up the memories so I do not ask. What I do know is bad. And she was in the city, the worst of it fell in the rural areas.

Yeah. Blaming the deaths on communism is reasonable. Blaming them on atheism is not--communism is basically a religion.
