How should west respond to Russian invasion of Ukraine?

Meanwhile in actual news, Rada is working on a law to ban russian language for parents at ..... home.
I am very afraid for the future of ukrainian language in Ukraine.

I think you people are actually deranged. Normal people are able to change their views after being presented facts and arguments, you are clearly incapable of that.

Kiev today:

Not sure where Kiev is. But the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv is under heavy bombardment. Here is why the world needs to unite against Russia: while Ukraine wants peace and is working towards that; Russia increases its bombardment of Ukraine. Russia doesn't want peace. Trump is close to discovering this. Very close. When Russia formerly rejects; increase sanctions, resume weapons shipments in earnest, give frozen Russian assets to Ukraine. What the hell good is that money doing just sitting in a bank? The war is heading into 4 years pretty soon; Russia does not want peace. After all this time, why is the world pretending that they do want peace?

Kyiv is under heavy bombardment.
Kiev is not under heavy bombardment. Its energy infrastructure is, and it should, and it should have been since the beginning of the SMO. I understand that only small minority of ukrainians are now supporting Kiev regime. But the fact is, Junta in Kiev cut the energy and water to Crimea the moment they voted to leave Ukraine. And not a single "Ukraine" supporter on this forum said anything about it. Ukrainian society has been sick for a long time (35 years I say) and they need to think about that.

Speaking of electricity in Kiev. Some people have (expensive) battery backups in their apartments but are afraid to use it during blackouts. Guess why? :)

Here's another more recent update on the Ukrainian offensive and a huge tactical mistake by Russia.

How isn't this just anti-Putin propaganda

Everything reputable (ie with a good track record) I've seen suggests Putin sits stronger than ever in Russia and Russian troops are advancing, while Ukraine is struggling.

Ukraine has more advanced gear than Russia. But Russia has so much more of everything its hard for Ukraine to keep up.

Both Russia and Ukraine are preposterously corrupt countries. Which means its leaders and generals can't be trusted. On paper both armies should be in better shape than they are. This makes strategising difficult. It also makes it hard to keep soldiers on the ground motivated.

There's not much social pressure or shame for avoiding military service. That's not good for any country at war.

Neither Russians nor Ukrainians have much respect for their leaders

Both Russia and Ukraine are preposterously corrupt
“Both sides” autocratic apologetic stupidity. They are not nearly the same.
You know that if you have a working brain, yet strive to equate a brutal dictator killing hundreds of thousands in a vicious land grab, with a duly elected democratic leader trying to defend his Country from the above-mentioned murderous dictator.
Stupid or malevolent, you’re WRONG either way.

How isn't this just anti-Putin propaganda
I would not even call this AI word salad fiction a propaganda.
It's an IQ test which ZiprHead failed badly.
If you can't convince them, insult them.
You've resorted to this some time ago.
If stating facts insults you then problem is you, not facts.
And you know what is actually insulting? - ignoring questions and not admitting being wrong.

Details of the security guarantees have not become public but Zelenskyy said Monday they include how a peace deal would be monitored as well as the “presence” of partners. He didn’t elaborate, but Russia has said it won’t accept the deployment in Ukraine of troops from NATO countries.
US offers Ukraine 15-year security guarantee as part of peace plan, Zelenskyy says
If US forces strike Russian forces within Ukraine's internationally recognized borders, I'll buy a MAGA hat.

Trump has damaged trust in America irredeemably. Promises by USA aren't worth anything any longer.

Biden promised never to abandon Ukraine. But Trump did. Later administrations have now have little incentives to honor anything Trump now promises

If Zelenskyy signs any peace deal now its because he thinks the war is unwinnable and that future negotiations will mean more concessions. Not because he believes USA will protect them

One thing I had to come to terms with over these past few years is that I have next to no reliable information on the state of Ukraine with regards to this war and it's foolish of me to speculate. Ukraine has held its cards close.
What we do have right now is the possibility of the US physically backing Ukraine, of Trump holding Putin's feet to the fire. This is how I read Zelensky's comments. And this agreement would be with Trump. Would a successive administration continue to do so? I think this side of a President JD Vance, yes. Any Democrat or moderately sane Republican would continue to do so. And if Trump doesn't make it through the next three years, Vance will not have the juice in congress to unwind any agreement Trump might come to with Ukraine. Congress will kick back. There are still many old school GOPers who still know what Russia is all about and would execute a strong and vigorous defense of Ukraine, more so than timid Biden did.
If Trump does send a message, it will be unambiguous. Hopefully a MOAB or the like on that goddamn bridge.

And my estimates of russian losses is 150-200K which is consistent with western sponsored agencies.
My number is probably overestimation because it's based on depressed region which is more likely to provide men to the war. Ukrainian losses are obviously higher. How much higher is hard to say.
Ukrainian army relies much more heavily on FPV drone strikes, whereas
russian army has conventional striking abilities, hitting targets deep inside Ukraine. Also Ukrainian military is much more corrupt and mismanaged. They are under constant political pressure to produce propaganda results regardless of the losses. Russian military is more concerned about its losses.

You need to understand that this war is fueled by corruption and money. There is just enough nazy ideology to keep support from ukrainian population but it's really money. The west pays corrupt regime to send their men to death in order to hurt Russia a bit more. That's all there is to it. In the beginning the western scum thought they can surely win, now it's just inertia and not based in reality hope for some miracle. The EU in particular invested too much into this war.
It was stupid and based on false premise that Russia was weak and ready for regime change.
In reality Russia was not weak and "regime" is extremely stable and has full support of the population (especially considering that economy is fine)
And the popular support in Russia fort this war is ironically is the result of ukrainian regime propaganda. People look at these assholes and say "We should have "invaded" these motherfuckers earlier"
Also ukrainian propaganda in the west is skewed by so-called ukro-"refugees" which are interested in continuation of the war indefinitely because any stoppage would result in their immediate deportation to .... Ukraine and they don't want that. They don't even care to hide that. There are some "refugees" which openly say that. Russian population sees all that, Western does not becasue your media suppress that.
:hysterical:

Lindsey, is that you?
Elensky is lying (Trump said so) and it does not matter becasue Russia will not agree on any such plan.

Still no comments on EU cancelling people for having an opinion different from allowed by unelected fuhrers of EU.
