How should west respond to potential (likely) U.S. invasion of Venezuela?

But do they allow observers to fairly judge what the sanctioned might have done if they had not been sanctioned?
China is the only example of self-contained regime which escaped US/West wrath.
The Irony is, in USSR in the 60-70s they were thinking about doing the same thing China did later. But then oil crisis happened and shitload of money came, which was spectacularly wasted on supporting Africa, Latin America and importing food. I remember the food, which then quickly disappeared once the oil prices fell.

But China has proven that socialist regimes are capable of managing the economy as well as the best capitalist regimes.
One, of course, can say that China is Socialism in name only. It does not matter, regime transitioned to "capitalism" by its own plan. Chinese have to thank Russians for that.
For comparison, look at India which was kinda in the same situation at the start as China but a capitalist democracy.
Not to mention capitalist shitholes of South America. So superiority of capitalist system is not that obvious.
Communism and awful leadership through it got millions of Chinese to starve.
You should have interfered and helped with food back then. Why are you trying interfere now when Chinese are pretty fat?
Chinese are doing fine, and Russia is doing fine too.
The Catholic Church managed a good starvation in Ireland too. Dictators in Africa have helped their people starve. The US fucked up in the prairies, but good leadership helped fix agricultural mistakes and the US became a remarkable producer of food. .

Capitalism is necessary, but it needs a leash. A short one called socialism.
I think capitalism has run its course. We need a better system. I mean for all intents and purposes we have all the necessary prerequisites for some kind of communism. Capitalism is in its "diminishing returns" stage where it spends most of its resources (look at $1.5T war budget) on prolonging itself.

So the five hundred million dollars gotten for the Venezuelan oil has unlawfully been transferred to a bank account in Qatar in Trump's name.

Senior officials claim...

What a douche nozzle.
Real Nobel Laureates don't have cankles.
And WTF is wrong with that woman to think he deserves it.

I hope the Nobel people cancel her award.
You don't understand, she just saved Norway from invasion (hence should be awarded another Nobel)
Now, if someone hands him over Nobel Prize Medal in Economics, Sweden will be saved too.
And I would hand him over Nobel in physics just in case.

The Nobel committee has already issued a statement that the medal and cash may be given away BUT the title 'Nobel Laureate' (the winner) is not transferable.
Meaning... Only the committee says who wins. The medal and cash are only tokens. Ownership of those are irrelevant.

Yabut the ability to force someone to give you their “token” under threat of imprisonment - that’s some real manly POWER!!

Apropos of the question in thread title: Rahm Emanuel is not convinced that world powers embrace Trump's use of the military for a corrupt oil grift. Trump will enrich himself and his crime family by billions, while America loses trillions. Mark Carney just flew to China and shook hands on a trillion-dollar trade deal with Xi Jinping. Mr. Emanuel does not argue that the Democrats are without fault, even admitting that Barack Obama once wore a tan suit in 2014.

Deploying U.S. military for personal grift? Wearing a tan suit? We report; you decide.

Saudi, Pakistan and Turkey are forming a military alliance independent of the USA.

U.S. Stocks are falling (though EUADNote 1 trades near its all-time high set a week ago), but Gold set yet another all-time high today: $4717½ per ounce (almost $152/gram). Silver set its all-time high yesterday: $94.7/ounce. Bitcoin still trades near $90k, where it's been since its mini-crash a few months ago.

What those financial numbers are showing is that the future value of the Almighty Dollar is in doubt. You could buy a Swiss Franc for $1.09 when Trump was inaugurated. Now it will cost you $1.26.

Note 1: EUAD is an ETF investing in a basket of European defense contractors. My gloating about buying it almost a year ago is rather misplaced: That purchase followed a wave of liquidations ... which included a largish stake in SIVR Silver ETF.

They're basically saying what Trump received is the noble piece of shit prize.

Well, I suppose since the Supreme Court thinks money is speech, that then one needs money to defend themselves in court. So accepting these premises, funds ought not be blocked?

Also, ...
It was Mr. Maduro’s first appearance in the months since he pleaded not guilty to four charges, including conspiracy to import cocaine into the United States.

That one sounds like a TRUMPed up charge.
