Epstein, Kiddies, And Trump. Oh, My

Something that's been bothering me for a hot minute...

Has anyone heard from QAnon lately? I mean, their whole thing was battling this "global pedophile ring" at every turn, with accusations about Hillary Clinton running the operation out of a non-existent basement of a pizza parlor and hurling accusations against Democrats, but they seem to have gone radio silent as of late.

Do we need to call in a wellness check on them?
They're busy working as ICE agents

I will accuse the people who stood by with all aplomb, that they have neither done the needful, as it were, nor even spoken the truth of things since.
So, again, you want people to commit murder in order to kill somebody you suspect of crimes.
Quite beside the point of how wrong it is for you to appoint yourself as judge and jury, and force others (like Dobson) to be your executioner, what happens when you are wrong? Do you just go "oops, my bad"? It's not like we do not have numerous instances of false allegations and mistaken suspicions. And even in our criminal justice system, with many procedural rules and "beyond a reasonable doubt" standard, there have been wrongful convictions. How much more are you Jarhyn, a private individual, likely to get it wrong in your self-righteous quest for vengeance?

And what about crimes that are just as serious, or more serious, than sexual assault, but are not your personal hobby horse? Do people suspected of those crimes also deserve to be murdered by anybody in the same room as them too? I do not see you condemn people who were in the same room as OJ Simpson, but failed to take him out.
Derec, imo, there are very few crimes more serious than raping a child. Before you get all huffy about it ‘only being teenagers’ who are not children ( except legally) , it is alleged, credibly according to portions of files not completely redacted that some of the victims were 9 and 10 years old. I saw survivors in congressional chambers during Bondi’s ‘testimony’ and at least one was male. I have read assertions that some victims were murdered and even buried on Trump’s golf courses. Of course only a portion of millions of pages have been made public and those have been heavily redacted. It is possible that this is all some kind of horrible hoax but I don’t think so. For one thing, Trump has made so many very creepy statements that it does not stretch imagination even a tiny bit to believe that he raped children. I would very much prefer to believe that none of this happened. But I do believe it most likely did happen. I believe that victims were threatened with their own deaths and the deaths of their families if they came forward. Some that came forward years ago were ignored. It is really difficult to contemplate such evil.

But hiding from the truth is cowardly, especially in light of what happened to these people as children. And disgusting. It is morally reprehensible not to fully investigate and to prosecute those responsible for such atrocities. Whoever they may be.

People in leadership positions chose to be in those positions. With great power comes great responsibility, including the responsibility to obey the law and to stand up for right and justice.

You only need clemency if you’re guilty….
She was already found guilty. She claims she will exonerate TRUMP with her testimony if he will grant her clemency. I can't see how that's even legal.
If she says under oath Trump never did anything which we know is BS she could be subject to perjury charges.

And Trump will just say she told the truth and pardon her.
If he's still in office. And it will be another example to the world that Trump is a scumbag. Pardon a known sex offender cuz MAGAts love those people.

True. Though I don't know that the world needs more examples that he's a scumbag. What's needed is something that his cult will see that he's a scumbag.

His cult was pushing for the Epstein files to be made public. I suspect that it's because Trump said that powerful Democrats would be exposed. I don't know how much his cult cares about Trump being involved with Epstein. It's been known for years and hasn't hurt him among his cult base.
What’s needed are proportional consequences.

Bonus: it would also dim the ardor of some of his biggest fans.

I don't understand your comment.
If Trump had to face legal consequences for his actions, it would likely quell some of the ardor his fans express for him. Some would never be convinced, even with video tapes and signed confessions but a lot of people would be.

There are two primary factors allowing Attorney General Pam Bondi to bypass traditional oversight. These mechanisms provide the "cover" necessary for her to avoid direct accountability.

The first pillar is the coordinated framing within the "conservosphere." If you watch Fox News & Friends--for example, Hannity--the narrative is already set: Bondi wasn't "deflecting"; she was "roasting" the Democrats. This isn't just a case of an individual being combative; it appears to be a concerted strategy involving top-down messaging from the Trump administration, amplified by influencers and bots. By creating an alternative reality where unprofessionalism is celebrated as strength, they insulate their followers from objective criticism of her behavior.

The second pillar is the protective wall built by GOP leadership. When faced with Bondi's stonewalling, Speaker Mike Johnson and other GOP allies have resorted to "whataboutism," claiming Democrats previously set the precedent for non-compliance. By refusing to hold her in contempt or pursue meaningful consequences like impeachment, the committee chairs allow her to use her Burn Book to launch personal attacks instead of answering questions about the DOJ’s handling of the Epstein files.

The GOP base is rarely exposed to the details of these cover-ups, and while Independents may see the chaos, the GOP is already working to change the electoral "rules of the game." Their brazen behavior suggests they are confident that by the time voters go to the polls, the system will be tilted enough in their favor that this performance won't matter.

The first thing I thought of when I saw that 'performance' was Nelson Muntz. The only thing she didn't do is say "Smell you later" right before she left.

It also reminded me of when the GOP gave up trying to question Ford in the Kavanaugh hearing and just went to fallacy attacks against the Democrats. When you have no ground to defend, act like you have a basis for attack. Small dog barking a lot, bluffing that they are dangerous.

The Trump Admin's foundational belief is they are not accountable to anyone. And the GOP is all-in with it. They are behaving like a party that doesn't think the mid-terms will matter.

If you don’t think they might be right about that, THAT is why they might be right about that.
There are a couple angles here.

I can't say for certain the elections in 2026 happen and in January 2027, Democrats in several states don't get seated.

On the other hand, I can say SCOTUS has done so irreversible for decade damage to regulatory guidance for the Federal Government. So even if all goes well, in 2026 for the Democrats, they aren't really going to fix everything that has been broken.

QFT.
If ANYTHING gets fixed in the next 2 1/2 years it will be a miracle. The best that can be hoped for is to slow the damage still being done. Winning in November is one key to that, but unless the fairly ejected winners are seated in Congress, the effect will be all negative, as it will have been proven that elections don’t matter.
