The fucker ranted for 107 minutes -- a record. It will matter only if it produces an uptick in his awful approval numbers, and I'd be surprised if it did. Most Americans, like me, are still looking for those low Trump prices in the stores.
What else ran 107 minutes? Double Indemnity (1944)...Easter Parade (1948)...The Terminator (1984)...any of which would have been a better alternative last night. I'd have gone for Double Indemnity, which deals with a scheming, conscienceless liar -- er -- with better production values than the SOTU. Hell, Ishtar (1987) also runs 107 minutes, and I'd have watched that over Donald, if given the choice. (Actually, last night I watched U-571 again, which runs 117 minutes and at least has America fighting the dictators.)

I tried watching Trump's rant; I really tried. I'll never understand why he has charisma with so many Americans but I can't deny that he does.
But fucking listening to the cunt drone on - it sounded as though he was even bored of his own fucking voice. And then there was what he said which was basically,
"I want you to be angry about this!"
"Now be pissed off about this!"
"Remember this? Be mad about it!"
Nothing about what he has accomplished as President (lightbulb moment) but just a glorified Twitter rant in all caps.
I'm sure MAGA jacked themselves off raw throughout all of it.

Your first two sentences are exactly how I (and 90% of my friends) feel. How is it possible that this most obvious con man, liar, grifter, racist, and sadist has the approval of even a sliver of the electorate? He says a lot about my country that has been awful news to swallow. Can't imagine how Aussies discuss this revolting human -- I've always found a streak of profane glee in Australian humor, and God knows that's a sensible way to discuss Donald. There is at least the comfort of knowing that a solid 60% of us are through with him, but he can do so much more damage before he retires at 82, is somehow removed (I don't see this happening), or keels over from age and lifestyle.
That drone you describe has a wispy sound to me. It wasn't in his voice back in his first term. He's definitely sounding like the octogenarian he will become in five months. Let's hope he keeps on with his recent syndromes of falling asleep standing up, hobbling about with a stiff right leg, and wheezing through his still-endless harangues. Sooner or later...

Has anyone thought of bottling any State of the Union address (not particularly picking on Trump) and selling it as a sleeping agent or guaranteed to send anyone of sound mind into non-sound mind or catatonic state?
