Immigration Issues

Using a legal term for a non-citizen who is in the country without authorization is just as bad as the n-word now?
Using your baseless fears as excuse to restrict the rights of others, is worse than using the n - or any other - word.

“A detailed Associated Press review of six key battleground states found fewer than 475 potentially fraudulent ballots among about 25 million votes examined, a rate close to zero, and not enough to change any outcome.”
It’s NOT A PROBLEM, Emmerz. Your fears are BASELESS.
HERE is “the problem” you should be worried about, Emily, if you were concerned about electing candidates that actually represented eligible voters;

Based on the best national estimates, roughly 80–85 million eligible voters did not vote in the last U.S. presidential election (2020)
Why don’t you see THAT as “THE PROBLEM” Emily? Because it would hurt the authoritarian cause you support, perhaps?

Racist slurs are about saying things which offend the beliefs of others.
You say shit that offends my beliefs all the time. Why don't your own rules apply to you?
Because I don't give a shit about offending the beliefs of someone who doesn't care about offending people's beliefs.

Furthermore, I haven't really stated beliefs so much as facts and functional realities.

I point out your material support, your causes, your alignment to those things. I point out the reality that if you do not place consent central within your ethical model, your ethics will violate consent.

These are not beliefs, and if they offend you, then that's your problem, not mine.

If you wanted to, say, build some foundation of support under your arguments... Well, then they wouldn't be beliefs.

But "illegals" isn't something with a foundation at all. It's just a baseless attack term disguised as laziness

Why should we have to put up with you using deliberately racist and inflammatory terms without calling it out?
Your inability to consider race unimportant in how you evaluate and interact with people does not make me racist, nor does it make legal terms magically transform into racist slurs.

Your name calling and attempts to shame me into kowtowing to your own biases isn't going to make me pretend that an accurate legal term which does not in any fashion involve or reference race can only be used in a racist way.

YOU hear the phrase and YOU think about race - YOU have an implicit bias that it means race. That's what YOU think.

It's not what I think. Your implicit beliefs are not my beliefs.
I knew exactly what my father meant when he used the n word. Without it being explained to me.

He saw nothing wrong with his word choice, either.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

No, it’s cute when you do it.

No one said or even hinted at that.

Are you well? Are you sober? I ask, because that is a very dumb interpretation which is rare from you in my experience.

No, she got it. Kinda. It might not be technically as bad as the n word but that don’t make it good or ok.

Calling a person “illegal” is not a “legal term” just because you use the word “legal”. Referring to people as illegals and excusing it that way, is sleazy. (That’s a characterization, a perception only alterable by new and salient information.)

People are not illegal, their actions are. And illegal entry generally ranks right above jaywalking in “legal” importance, given how often both occur and how rarely they are prosecuted. Similar, except jaywalkers don’t pick lettuce, nor does jaywalkers’ risky behavior otherwise contribute to the economy.

Once apon a time, people born 'out of wedlock' were termed 'illegal' 'illegitimate' as if they were illegal ... didn't have a right to exist.
It's the same kind of biggotry.
Crossing a border without permission is just tresspassing. Nothing worse.
Staying past your visa is just paperwork. nothing worse.
Misdemeanors. Less than what Rump does every day.

If only it were that simple fella. But alas that is not the situation as things currently stand.

People that enter the USA (most countries actually) illegally or overstay their visa are subject to deportation. Some of these “trespassers” actually go on to commit serious crimes and for some weird reason, a lot of democrats want to protect these people by creating “sanctuary cities”.

You would much more readily decrease the number of people who go on to commit serious crimes in the US, per capita, by evicting every legal citizen, because on average, such people commit fewer crimes than americans (outside of just being here).

I have got Swizz on 'ignore'. But I was expecting him to make an ignorant reply to my post.
IT IS just that simple. If an immagrent or tresspasser comits another crime, you can easily prosicute them for that crime, simpleton. Doesen't need exagerated retaliation. The two 'crimes' are not related.
ICE is persicuting people for extra crimes that haven't been commited.

Well done. You identified the problem.
Stop subjecting them to deportation,
Problem solved.

Easier said than done when democrats refuse to cooperate with federal agencies. But even if an illegal alien is successfully prosecuted and convicted of a crime, they are ultimately going to be removed from the USA. Deservedly so.

The two 'crimes' are not related.

Sure, Jan.

Anyway, ICE is cleaning up the mess that Brandon and the democrats created.

Not to mention they know that the consequences of crime are deportation for those on the edge of legality in being here, let alone those who are already committing a misdemeanor for (still) being here.

It can ruin their visa or asylum claims or their green card or whatever-have-you.

Those near the edge walk on eggshells.

A conversation with a professional Canadian citizen shows how much more even a legally present person looks to prevent incidents when here, out of concern for their well-being and ability to return.

I would recommend this to any dumbass that thinks immigrants are broadly interested in crime.

Only in some contexts though. You're completely happy to violate consent in other contexts... indeed you're happy to demand that the right to consent is removed by law in certain contexts.
