Legal definition of woman is based on biological sex, UK supreme court rules

I consider it my business to speak out against the sterilization of gay, autistic, and sexually abused youth. I consider it my business to oppose eugenics experiments on children.
"Eugenics"? I hope you are using hyperbole. The real complex of issue of trans people does not involve keeping them from having children (i.e. eugenics), but treating them in a fair and humane fashion.

If you are not using hyperbole, then I find it hard to take your view seriously, since it appears to be based by delusions.

If someone should want her government to treat trans people inhumanely on her behalf, but also wants to see herself as the kind of person who treats everyone well, there's no great mystery there. That describes most Democrats you meet these days.

Since that's not happening, you should stay in your fucking lane.
Uh huh. The complete hysterectomy and mastectomy of my just turned 19 year old niece, who is both autistic and we're pretty sure sexually assaulted, totally hasn't happened at all. And she absolutely wasn't given a prescription for testosterone at age 17 after a 30 minute planned parenthood appointment, where there was zero mental health eval done despite her having a documented history of anxiety disorder and bipolar disorder. And that totally wasn't done without her parent's approval.

Yeah. Totally not happening at all. Except that it does and is happening. It affects people I love, so it IS my fucking lane.

Why do you want to permanently harm youth?

On behalf of the queer community, I would like to thank you for constructing such a noble if imaginary justification for our persecution.
It's not imaginary. There's a documented massive overrepresentation of autistic kids identifying as trans at the onset of puberty. There's also a documented overrepresentation of gay kids identifying as trans in early puberty. And there's a massive portion of the young females who identify as transmen who have been sexually abused or raped.

And all of those are being given blockers and cross sex hormones with virtually no control for their existing issues and traumas, and with no talk therapy to come to a level of comfort with their homosexuality.

It's reckless endangerment of vulnerable kids to support this. Shame on you.

Holy fuck, Politesse is responsible for all of that?! Wow! When does Politesse find time to sleep?

Cross sex hormones administered during puberty almost always result in the child being sterile. Testosterone destroys ova, especially if taken before menarche. Estrogen taken before spermarche can prevent maturation, and make male children sterile. Puberty blockers taken early in puberty for more than a very short period of time prevent sexual maturation - the prevent the penis from elongating, prevent the scrotum from dropping further from the body, prevent the enlargement and increased elasticity of the uterus, and prevent the maturation of the mammary ducts in breasts resulting in an inability to produce milk even if the individual doesn't have a mastectomy.

The suite of drugs given to youth experiencing dysphoria frequently result in them being sterile.

They're not reversible, they're not safe, and they're certainly not solution. Children should be allowed to fully mature out of their juvenile state before being turned into permanent medical patients.

I don't see how it's inhumane to let children fully develop before turning them into permanent medical patients as a means to treat mental distress, especially when the long-term mental outlook is not materially better and the sexed body is very rarely the actual source of the dysphoria.

How do you think it's "human" to create permanently semi-juvenile but technically adult people who are dependent on drugs for the rest of their life and who amputate perfectly healthy body parts?

Why is that noteworthy? Do you think that homosexualty is an identity rather than an orientation?

People change their minds about being trans. People detransition - increasingly as time goes on. Gay people don't de-gay over time and become comfortable with their heterosexuality. They sure as hell don't desist from gayness if left alone to complete their natural puberty.
And there's a massive portion of the young females who identify as transmen who have been sexually abused or raped.

Yes.

I didn't say Poli was responsible for all of it, but Poli supports it - and the support is reckless.

That isn't Eugenics. Might not be the right treatment, but it isn't "Eugenics".
Fine. Let's call it "socially engineered sterilization of neurodivergent and autistic and sexually abused kids".

Do you really think that's materially different from the selective sterilization of groups of people considered abnormal?

None of that makes it eugenics. Eugenics requires intent to sterilize.

Yes. The latter have no choice in the matter.

What do you even mean by "support"? I think medical decisions should be made by patients, parents, and medical professionals. Not politicians or media personalities. If that's "reckless" - trusting expertise over rhetoric, personal relationships over media-twisted stereotypes - I certainly don't see how. If that's "reckless", the term "reckless" has lost all logical meaning.

If it were possible to re-closet, people would surely do so more often. But once you're tainted, you're tainted. No going back. It forces you into a different social and political mode whether you like it or not.

What happens to people who de-transition? Are they happy, after? Are they successful? Do their family and colleagues embrace them? Do you know? Did you even think to ask?

Despite working in public higher education for thirteen years, I've only ever known one person who attempted to de-transition. His life was not a happy story. Not before his transitions, not during, and certainly not after. Because we live in an increasingly authoritarian state and trans people are its number two targets.

Oh you know why. You inch towards in the paragraph.
Do you think that homosexualty is an identity rather than an orientation?
There are Christian "Camps" dedicated to that idea. Of course, I don't agree with that, but you seem to be trying to straddle this idea that sexual orientation between the same sex is "orientation" whereas alignment of the mental mind and the gender is "identity". That isn't consistent.
People change their minds about being trans.
And teens change their mind about being gay.

There you go, 'transgenders don't exist'. Oh, you don't mean, you just say it.

Yes.
No. That was easy!

Just want to note that "whole fucking lot" isn't a "fucking number" or a "fucking percentage" or "fucking cited" to a "fucking source".

So Poli doesn't support access to adequate therapy and adequate/cautious doctor assessments / treatment for children minors with gender dysphoria?

Uh huh...

Genesis said:
Studies show that regret after gender-affirming transition is rare, with reported rates typically ranging between 0.3% and 3%. For surgical procedures specifically, research consistently indicates a regret rate of less than 1%, which is significantly lower than that of many other common, non-transgender related surgeries. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7]
Key Findings on Transition Regret
  • Low Regret Rates: A review of 27 studies encompassing nearly 8,000 patients found a 1% pooled prevalence of regret after gender-affirmation surgery (GAS).
  • Comparison to Other Surgeries:The rate of regret for gender-affirming surgeries is lower than for many common surgeries, such as knee replacements, which have dissatisfaction rates between 6% and 30%.
    • Reasons for Detransition: While some individuals do detransition, studies show it is not always due to regret. Reasons for detransition can include pressure from family, societal discrimination, or lack of support, rather than a change in gender identity.
    • Temporary vs. Permanent Regret: Research indicates some instances of reported regret are temporary or related to challenges in the transition process rather than the decision to transition itself. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]

Kids don't have as much agency in this as you think. They might be "choosing", but I genuinely don't think they truly understand the magnitude of their choice. The doctors enabling it are engaging in something so close to eugenics that I don't know what else to call it.

Letting a 15 year old get a forehead tattoo that says "fuck old people" is something I don't think any rational parent would allow, and I don't think any responsible tattooist would agree to do it. But doctors are both enabling and advocating for children to "choose" to permanently harm their healthy bodies in a way that frequently results in sterility.

I don't blame the kids at all, they're victims in this. I only blame the parents partially, because the system is currently stacked against them in many areas, and they're punished for acting in defense of their child's long-term health and well being if they deny drugs or surgeries. It's the doctors that I blame, and I think it's completely monstrous.

Trust the doctors who gave lobotomies to "cure" depressions to tens of thousands of people. And the psychiatrists who diagnosed repressed memories of satanic ritual child abuse.

Because history totally doesn't show doctors being overzealous and reckless at applying a newfangled approach to mental distress.

Whereas politicians, bible freaks, and social media hatemongers have such a flawless record? The thing about the world of the sciences is that it eventually learns to correct its own errors, and learn and improve over time. I notice you're glossing over the other two parties I mentioned, despite the fact that the targets you are actually trying to take rights and autonomy from. Shouldn't they be your main point of attack, not a guilty secret? I mean, I don't think you should make attacking children and their parents your life's purpose, but if you're going to do it all, you might as well show your cards.
