California Doing California Things

2. The left, as has become their norm, is out of touch with the average voter and simply isn't aware of the invective constantly bombarding social media with anti-family messaging.
You have been asked and have not at this time provided proof of the left "constantly bombarding social media with anti-family messaging."
I have explained this here over and over again. If you aren't aware of the phenomenon that's your problem. I'm not going to write a book for you.
No one is asking for you to write a book, just to provide a few examples of this constant bombardment.

Please also read what I write. Jesus. I always include something about how this is a tiny minority that has an oversized voice which gives the GOP lots of ammunition to work with.
I am reading what you write and I find what you're writing to be totally lacking of any proof of what you are saying.

The northbound 110 Freeway remains shut down in San Pedro Wednesday morning as officials evaluate potential structural damage caused by a homeless encampment fire that ignited inside a tunnel Monday night. Officials told KTLA it’s possible the freeway could reopen sometime Wednesday, but it’s unclear when that might happen, if at all. The fire broke out shortly before 9 p.m. Monday inside a 150- to 200-foot-long utility tunnel near Gaffey Street. Authorities said the tunnel was packed with debris from a large encampment. Both directions of the freeway were shut down for several hours Tuesday before the southbound lanes reopened later that morning. The northbound side, however, remains closed between Harry Bridges Boulevard to the north and Channel Street to the south. Officials also need to determine if anyone was trapped inside the tunnel when the fire began, as the encampment was believed to be heavily occupied.

Imagine the whole country being governed the same way Newsom governs California.

YES, there were more Democrats who stayed home than Republicans as compared to 2020. That contingent can and should be framed as an anti-incumbent contingent, i.e. hard to get excited about Harris because she was tied to the Biden administration and couldn't convince too strongly she would change the economic policies, whatever that might mean. Ideas that Trump won due to a culture war or that he had a MANDATE are false.
And yet if Harris had won I am quite sure you would not claim that she did not have a mandate.

Where did you pull that from about me personally?

What policies or actions should be embraced to prevent fires in homeless encampments?

Los Angeles firefighters have repeatedly warned that rising call volumes and chronic understaffing are slowing their response times, and new data shows one major driver -- encampment fires. Every time the L.A. Fire Department responds to a blaze, crews must file a report and mark whether it was "Homeless or Encampment Related." A records request for every such fire since 2020 returned a staggering total -- more than 75,000 incidents. The numbers fluctuate month-to-month, but the trend is unmistakable. In 2020, LAFD logged 7,165 homeless-related fires. From January through mid-December 2025, that number climbed to 16,982, an average of 46 fires every day in the city of Los Angeles. Last month, a Larchmont family lost their home and their two dogs after a fire they believe was started by squatters next door.

The current mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass was considered for VP by Brandon. Her incompetence (along with Newsom) caused the Pacific Palisades to burn down. Bass tries to blame it on climate change.

In the homed encampment where I live, the city government provides me a large plastic container on wheels. I put trash in it and twice a week they send someone to empty it into a truck. All the nearby homed people do the same. If not for this service, the whole place would be buried in trash in a few months.

Is that supposed to be an answer to my question to Tswizzle? If so, what is the actual answer beneath your coy, hinting? You don't have to be shy, I won't bite. Spell it out.

In plain English, please. What policies or actions should be embraced to prevent fires in homeless encampments?

When you're discussing hundreds of millions of people, there are many "even a little" groups, including people who believe in unicorns.
Yes, exactly. Allegedly, 6%!!!

To review some facts: Biden won popular vote in 2020: 51.3% of the electorate. Harris lost the popular vote in 2024: 48.3% of the electorate. There does not appear to be an 11% drop but instead a 3% drop. Trump went from 46.9% to 49.8%, almost a 3% change as well.
You're dividing their vote counts by the total number of votes cast, not by the total number of eligible voters. "The electorate" includes people who choose not to vote.

So what you're admitting is that you actually don't know anything about the tradwife movement, despite trying to correct us all about it? Almost nothing about that is accurate. The date, the economics, the philosophy.
This, from the person who tells us tradwives just double their husbands' votes. You really think not a single tradwife is married to a guy in a union who voted for Biden because he was dependable on labor issues?

You know, for a guy supposedly neutrally but vehemently outraged by any instance of misquoting, you sure are whimsical about "rephrasing" what I've said and haven't said to be far more extrene than it was when I said it. But I suppose if hypocrisy embarassed you, we'd have nothing to discuss.

But no, I doubt that tradwives in general support the Democratic Party, nor ever would. They have a fundamentally, not just pragmatically, anti-liberal views. Conservative Christianity, "traditional family values", "traditional gender roles" - without these things, there isn't much left of the #tradwife philosophy, save aesthetics and a talent for the traditional frontier crafts

And I definitely doubt that anyone who can afford the #tradwife lifestyle is doing it off a single, blue-collar job. You have any idea the kind of capital ot takes to own a farm in Trump's economy? Vanishingly few people on that income tier. Most #tradwife celebrities were models or otherwise in media before their transition to the new tag. Hannah Neeleman was a famed ballerina. Nara Smith was a supermodel and film star. Both of their husbands work for unions, I'll grant you, but in Hollywood in Johannesburg, that does not necessarily equate to voting Democrat.

A regular trash pick up service like the one I have would be a start. In my neighborhood, city employees do a fairly good job of picking up litter on the streets and other public areas. There's no reason this service couldn't be extended to homeless encampments. It probably costs less than sending the fire department to put out trash fires and certainly less expensive than damage to infrastructure.

During my days as an urban pioneer, I dealt with homeless people on a daily basis. I quickly learned there wasn't any effective way I could help them. I simply didn't have the resources. That was no reason to make their life more difficult than it was.

On this I quite agree. It's often an act of deliberate cruelty on the part of cities that they fail to patrol poor neighborhoods for cleanup and trash pickup. They say its a question of expense and safety, but... it's so predictable people on the street joke about it, that every time there's a big event or an economic summit on the way, suddenly the supposedly insurmountable streets of San Francisco and San Jose are immaculate.

Assuredly. Everyone benefits from clean parks and sidewalks. And the homeless are for the most part taxpayers, so its not like they are mooching off the state.

I wish everyone felt that way! Plenty of these homeless encampment fires turn out to have been deliberate acts of arson if they are ever investigated.

From Wikipedia:
"A majority government provides a clear mandate, while plurality or coalition government suggests a lesser mandate, requiring greater compromise between parties. Parties with strong mandates are free to implement their preferred policies with the understanding that they are supported by the people. When no mandate exists for a single party, the median voter may be used to determine what policies have a mandate for implementation. The modern concept of a political mandate first developed around the 16th century and became a prominent aspect of politics after the French Revolution."

You need to check in with Pete’s pastor on what is a proper tradwife. You know, the head spiritual guide of the US armed forces, Doug Williams.

The unicorn thing is because they're in the KJV. If you're a biblical literalist, you have no choice but to believe in the things.

Sure, Jan.
Were you under the impression that sales tax and income tax are somehow voided for homeless people? The government doesn't care if you have a house or not, it still takes its bit just the same. One of the services a good homeless orientation center provides is helping residents file income tax so they can get their due refunds and EITC.
