Plants. Toilets. Cleaning dirt off things. With a filter (a real one meant for the backcountry), drinking.

Backcountry filters - even Sawyer’s .01 micron filters - won’t touch dissolved metals, salts etc. I ain’t drinking that shit, period!

But why would you think toxicological contamination here? I've never seen a "non-potable water" sign except in the absence of water purification. I would expect more warning if the threat was something you couldn't purify.
