Mitch McConnell Gone?

It pains me to say this, but I agree with Andrew Wang, the democratic party is a dead brand. We're probably going to pretty good in November, and we'll do slightly better than republicans in 2028. But imo, this is more of a function that the republicans are throwing it away due to incredibly dumb shit. Americans are sick of foreign wars and inflation. The republicans don't care! But they will course correct sometime soon. Long term, we are fucked. IMO, we've been fucked since Gore lost. We're flat out dead in more than 30 states.
To be clear, that is a result of the 2010 election and the criminal level of state legislative gerrymandering because American voters freaked the "fuck out" over the ACA.

Gore lost in 2000. I see the decline and malise in the democratic party really started in 1994 when Gingrich republicans destroyed the dems and took the house. This happened despite a majority of voters being democratic and Bill Clinton very being popular. Obviously it was a signal that people didn't want Hillary-Care. But democratic turnout was terrible that election.

This means that long term, the senate is gone. But then there is a population shift from blue states to red states. We've lost the supreme court for a generation, maybe more. And now, we're losing minorities, younger voters, and women voters. Again, we're going to have a good run for a short time, but long term, the democratic party is dead.
Right now the Democrat Party has a couple huge issues. The average American voter and the GOP's relentless drive to win an election. The Democrats passed a private market type solution for health care insurance access and the voters made them pay of which the impact went deep in the US political system. The US prefers liberal policies, but votes Republican (lower taxes) and generally only votes out Republicans when they have fucked up royally. And the GOP had a subliminal advertisement, stepped in the way of counting votes in Florida, made shit up over Kerry's Vietnam service, to either conspired to cause or enabled the Capitol riot. The GOP isn't afraid to fight dirty and message very negatively, or give a middle finger to an election result. According to the GOP, the Democrats are communists now.

That is our fault. The republicans started calling democrats slight left of center socialists and communists in the 1950's. Then I don't why, but many on the left started embracing this conservative label. And now we are all being lumped in with the DSA folks who want to shut down all the prisons and have public ownership of all corporations. The republicans are savvy, we are the suckers.

Loper Bright was multi-generational for SCOTUS. The election of Trump in 2016 had generational impact. Meanwhile Social Security is headed towards a shortfall. The Democrats can't run on much because Americans want solutions that don't cost anything and they don't want to bother understanding any of the problems and messaging them is nearly impossible... so the Democrat ads are about Data Centers and cost of living.

And bonus issue, Trump normalized bald faced lying.

He's also incredibly normalized graft and outright bribery. There is a conservative government watchdog group that claims that Trump has grafted (is that a word?} more than 2 billion dollars! Remember the paltry white water scandal and the "$5,000,000 for the big guy"!! Again, we're going to win in November and most likely in two years. But it's more because the republicans are going against the voters wishes (inflation, Iran and etc). But they will course correct. And the fundamental problems plaguing the democratic party will bite us severely in the near future. Sorry that I'm such a downer lately!
Actually Gore did not really lose in 2000. They got the FLSC to stop the manual recount. The ballot was intentionally misleading, and with Jeb Bush as Governor, FL was an easy mark. But do not kid yourself into thinking Gore really lost in 2000

Or hot water heaters.
I hear 'hot water heaters' more offten than I hear 'water heaters'.
The thing is you can have water heaters that are not hot water heaters.

We have two. Toto Washlets. Toilet top bidet. They heat the water they spray at you--but it's heated to comfortable, not to water heater temperature.

At this point, though, I think it's appropriate to demand a picture taken from a camera that signs its images at the chip layer, because you can't trust images anymore (as if you ever could, really).
Is that even enough? That would verify that the camera took the picture, but it wouldn't verify it was looking at a real scene or an AI construction at well above the camera resolution.

Realistically, it's always come down to how much effort someone is willing to spend on making the fake. Consider: NASA made a big, high resolution picture of a chunk of the moon in order to fake lunar landings. The fact that it was for simulator training rather than deception doesn't change what it was. They had an actual camera on an arm that moved exactly as the simulated lunar lander was "moving", played it on the screen that took the place of the window they would be looking out of when it was for real.

This is weird.

And I don't mean "I have a sixth toe and yet you still want to fuck me" like my current girlfriend said kind of weird. I mean;

Donald Trump has said fuck all about this saga.

This is a cunt who gets hard over people he thinks offended him (see Meuuler post). This is also a guy who gushes over people he likes (see Epstein post on Twitter that has now been deleted)

Yet with McConnell...nothing.

Seriously... I'm stumped. Legit confused as fuck.

I think it is a strategic move, arising either from animalistic cunning or more likely from his advisers. If he says anything it could be a losing move.
So, uncharacteristically he is keeping his mouth shut on this issue.

He is so far gone, he thinks he's a Democrat.

Technically, alive I guess. But not really - and certainly NOT CAPABLE of DOING HIS JOB.
Because he almost voted Democrat?
Maybe, like so many facing death, he got god and simply didn’t want to go to hell for knowingly enabling an evil fascist pedophile!

This is not actually a change of status.
True enough but I’m actually concerned that coercion was involved in getting McConnell to the floor, he’s despicable but doesn’t deserve that and more importantly, the people of KY and the US don’t deserve to have someone not well enough put in that position. And then there’s the question of if his official vote was what he wanted or if he was ‘handled’ into changing his vote and if he lacked the capacity to form a sound decision and to resist pressure to change his vote.
