BREAKING: Shooting in Oregon

This happens daily in every other civilized nation. [/gunhumper]

I hope they have had their active shooter training like our work provides. Because this is how we deal with this in this country.

While it's sad that a child died, I think we're past the point where it's shocking that it happened. You're not going to do anything to prevent the next one, so just shrug it off and turn your attention back to whatever the Kardashians are doing today.

By the way, my spellchecker is complaining about me using the word "Kardashian". Thanks, spellchecker.

I thought it was Rihanna this week :confused-new:

The event known as the school shooting has become normalized in our society. It seems to also have been mistaken as a right of passage for a bare minority of schoolers.

when the fuck is enough going to be enough?

Perhaps sometime after you start doing something about it.
What would you like for me to do that I haven't already done?

Elect someone who'll do something about your crazy-assed obsession with guns and stupidity. It wasn't the singular "you" referring to yourself personally, but the plural "you" referring to your country as a whole. English really does need a better way to distinguish between them. If you (plural) are going to continue going out of its way to not deal with them then you (singular) are going to have to stop getting shocked when the obvious results of having a culture which celebrates the two things keep happening.

When mass shootings actually pose a genuine risk to society compared to other causes of deaths. Unfortunately the Chicken Littles of America can't see the issue clearly since sensationalist media riles them up so easily. From the latest news I found so far only one person has died besides the shooter who killed himself. And only a single teacher was wounded. Around 500 people die everyday due to medical malpractice. Should we have numerous weekly threads and "Never Again!" or "Not One More!" campaigns also if the media decided to hype some of those tragedies?

I agree with you (singular) on the issue of "you" (plural) :p As for electing enough people to do something about our fucked up gun culture... between rigged districts and NRA/corporate bought elections, I fear we as a country are going to have to sink a lot lower before anything changes.

Looking at mass shootings in the U.S. on Wikipedia, it does seem like a majority of the shooters are white. If anyone has actual information to refute this I'd like to see. Otherwise your political bias is showing.

See! Even people like this seem to be unable to see a problem with guns going off in schools. Boo fucking hoo! Cut the damn cord already! Besides, I thought 1 teenager murdered was a tragedy and 15 was a statistic.

In Australia, the plural of 'You' is 'Youse'. ;)

If doctors are outlawed, only outlaws will commit malpractice.

The only thing that stops a bad guy with an MD is a good guy with an MD

You can have my stethoscope when you pry it from my cold, dead hands.

Malpractice doesn't kill people, people kill people.
