The shooting of Keith Lamont Scott, and aftermath

Any word on the name of (or subject matter of) the book?

Funny really, how those who insist he was reading a book never mention what book he was supposedly reading.

Looks like the peaceful protesters found the evil White man responsible for the shooting: twitter.com/LibertarianQn/status/778845840496594944

There are people who want to take advantage of situations. Like Trump. Also it's funny that you care so much when black people are unmercifal but not when cops are unmercifal.

Oh wow. Now it's Trump's fault. I wonder if there's an an Internet law about how soon Trump will be associated with anything that goes wrong. Seems whatever the bad thing is, it's Trump, Trump, Trump. The only "Trump" factor I see out of this is that these "protests" will ensure he takes NC in November.

Worst case of failed reading comprehension I've seen in a while.

The rioters brought any injuries on themselves by, well rioting. Btw, there was a shooting where apparently one of the rioters shot another.

I'll defend it.
You'll defend violence, rioting, looting, blocking highways? And all that for a lie (not unlike Ferguson and Baltimore riots).

If agents of the state want to continue acting with impunity sometimes the only way to get their attention is to cause a disturbance.
What impunity? All police shootings are investigated and when it is found that the shooting is not justified the officer is prosecuted. What do you want? That police officers be prosecuted even when they did nothing wrong, based on how much outrage there is on Black Twitter or on the streets?

Want this shit to stop?
What shit? You mean families and #BLM activists spreading lies and misinformation every time a black person is killed, inciting violence?
No, Keith Lamont Scott was not just "reading a book". No, Tyre King was not just "playing with a BB gun" and he wasn't "shot in the back" either. No, Tavon Boyd was not "just reporting a break-in". Michael Smith was not lynched by KKK in Piedmont Park. This shit needs to stop indeed.

Start holding police accountable.
They are being held accountable. Sometimes more than warranted (see the frivolous Freddie Gray prosecutions). How about the black community start holding their own accountable instead of defending people just because of their skin color.

Make them have to go through the same justice system everybody else has to go through instead of the mess of conflicts of interest that is the current way we allow cops to engage in all sorts of bad behavior without suffering anything worse than a paid vacation.
They already are. And you have not said anything about why you think violence like we see in Charlotte, Baltimore, Ferguson, Milwaukee etc. is justified.
lol no

They were serving a warrant on somebody else. According to police, Scott went back to his car and emerged with a gun for some unknown reason. According to family and activists, he was reading a book and was shot for no reason whatsoever.
[*]What were the police doing in a school zone? If this man was waiting for his child to get out of school, was he near a school?
He was in an apartment complex, allegedly waiting for a school bus to drop off his son. A bit strange, I know.
[*]Why were the police shooting in a school zone, if that's where they were? Why on earth would they not wait until he left the area?
If somebody were to pull a gun in a school zone you think police should wait until he leaves the area? And anyway, he was not in a school zone.
[*]What happened to the person they were actually after in the first place? Did his "escape" result in deaths because he was so dangerous that they felt they HAD to get him RIGHT THEN, or were they proven wrong about the need to escalate then and there by the fact that the actual "perp" who got away just _got_away_ and they can find him another day without risking school kids (and innocent people)
I have not heard anything about the actual target of the warrant. Good question.

By the way, Keith Scott has a criminal record.
Keith Lamont Scott shooting: Charlotte police say he was holding a gun when shot
CBS News said:
Court records indicate that Scott had a criminal record including an assault conviction.
Mecklenburg County records matching Keith Lamont Scott’s name and birth date show Scott was charged in April 2004 with multiple counts, including felony assault with a deadly weapon. Records show that most of the charges were dismissed, and he pleaded guilty to a single charge of misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon.
Records from nearby Gaston County show that Scott pleaded guilty to driving while impaired in 2015.

Also what do people think of this idea that the public has no right to body and dash cam images?
It varies by jurisdiction buy often the police will hold on to any evidence until the investigation is over.
unless they think it'll help their case then it magically appears for everyone to see

don't worry, it's still early

No one is "defending" their actions.
Ksen definitely is.
I'll defend it.

Come back when you and other conservatives learn the fucking difference between describing why a situation is happening and justifying it.
a. Not a conservative
b. I understand the difference.

Until then you're just arguing against a position no one is fucking holding and you're demonstrating how profoundly willfully ignorant you are.
Ksen is holding that position at the very least, since he admitted it.
