Miles Morales looks amazing!

Battoman is my favourite DC character.

Both of these have me hyped. Not as much as Black Panther (Wakanda forever!) or especially the old Luke Cage trailer (If you made a superhero show specifically for me, this would be it), but still hyped. Can't even bother with DC's live-action movies, but their animated projects are usually interesting. And of course, Miles Morales and Peter Parker together? Yes, please.

Why is the Batman ninja dressed like a samurai? Samurai are not and never were ninja, as they in fact hated the shit out of each other and also held different jobs per their own skills sets within feudal era Japan. This just irks me. And I like Batman over many of the less dynamic characters of either Marvel or DC.

Still, I prefer the animated renditions of many superhero fandom because as much as I thought with the advent of improved CGI and motion capture that we'd finally have better looking live action fight sequences than we did in the 80s and 90s. Alas they may have gotten slightly better at those while at the same time fucking the storylines and character back stories so badly it makes it not worth the watch.

Now I only watch them for comic relief, hen comedy is even there to begin with.

First of all, we don't know if ninjas were ever a real thing. (I'm half Japanese, half Scandinavian, so it is equally disappointing to me that we also don't know if shield maidens were a real thing.) For example, it is possible that whenever samurai had to break the samurai code in the name of statecraft, they made up stories about fictional ninjas to cover their tracks.

So speculating on what ninjas were or weren't like is kind of like speculating on the preferred styles of comedy in Atlantis.

As for the costume you normally associate with ninjas, that is actually the costume of ancient Japanese stage hands. If ninjas actually existed, they would have dressed up as people others are used to ignoring (servants, farmers, etc).

Student-made trailer based on early drafts of Star Wars and the concept art of Ralph McQuarrie.

Blade could show up on Agents of SHIELD. Sounds like a terrible idea if you ask me. Who wants to see a PG-13 version of Blade?

They did a better job with Ghost Rider than any of the movies, so why not? Violence typically does not offend the TV censors any more, and language is censored less and less these days, especially if the show runs in a later time slot. So, the only problem would be with showing nudity, or depicting sexual situations, and those things don't need to be done to tell a good Blade story.

Oh, what is it now? What has your panties in a bunch this time?

The protagonist is a white male. Doesn't that mean it's going to be good? I can never tell what is going to trigger you fragile snowflakes.

what in the actual literal fuck are you talking about?

A. i'm one of, if not the, most ragingly liberal and anti-conservative *everything* posters on this forum.
B. 1:50 specifically.

seriously dude you may want to take a second to check who's doing the snowflake triggering here before blowing your wad replying to a post you clearly don't understand in the slightest.

and in case you're still confused let me make it really simple for you: i'm so excited for altered carbon that when i watched the trailer i literally came a little.
i read the book when it first came out and it's one of the favorite hard sci-fi/cyberpunk novels of all time, i've been weeping over the possibility of seeing a screen adaptation of this since the author richard k. morgan first announced he'd had a deal for the film rights for the story several years ago.

i do wish they'd gotten someone older and more grizzled to play the sleeve that kovacs is occupying, joel kinnaman is fine and all but i don't think quite fits the description in the book - same issue with the actress playing kristin ortega.

After seeing him in House of Cards I think Kinnaman will make up for that. The real test IMO is whether he and the other actors playing Takeshi will be able to convince us that he's the same man in different bodies.

Is anyone keeping tabs on how many Nazi, racist and white supremecist TFT members Underseer has "outed"? I imagine he's up in the high double digits by now.

Barbos got "outed" as a racist because he said he personally didn't care for Tavis Smiley (a black guy). Prideandfall got "outed" because he apparently didn't like a trailer that featured a white guy. Its probably best if people stick to just making comments on cat videos, atomic physics advances, etc.

My apologies, then. I got you mixed up with someone else. What's with the response image?

I come to Talk Freethought for a good time and intellectual stimulation. I'm tired of this ugliness. I will now unsubscribe from this thread, and probably from other threads if people continue to take shots at each other rather than staying civilly on topic.

Ha! It turns out I wasn't subscribed to this thread. :D

Nonetheless.

This one is hitting the airwaves soon.

Trigger warning: the protagonist of this show is not white, which could make certain kinds of extra-fragile white people feel less special.
