General trailer discussion

I dunno - at the very least, it doesn't look like someone is trying to make the movie as dark as humanly possible. And I did catch that Green Lantern reference.

Too bad Cyborg still looks like a Bayformer.

Meanwhile, a bit more of Thor: Ragnarok...

And apparently those who attended SDCC got to see a bit more of Black Panther, and...yeah, they said what they saw was even more impressive than the teaser.

And here is the excessively long Justice League Comic Con trailer:

Judging from the look of it it's going to be two or three hours of people looking ominously into the sky. Or at curtains. Or water. Or each other, this is a team-up movie after all. But why is J. Jonah Jameson suddenly all okay with superheroes, after all the nasty stuff he's said about Spider-Man? So out of character.

I have such mixed feelings about Justice League.

On the one hand, I fear the fact that Zach Snyder still has his paw prints on it, and I fear it will blow chunks.

On the other hand, I'm desperate for more decent DC movies after Wonder Woman whet my whistle, and I keep hoping that Joss Whedon was able to put lipstick on that pig.

My hopes aren't high, but I'll watch it in the theaters anyway. The interesting thing about the DCEU is that the standalone Flash movie will reportedly feature the Flashpoint story, which will give the DCEU an opportunity to reboot the entire DCEU. They can get rid of the things fans don't like, and introduce a bunch of new stuff to replace the things fans don't like, all while keeping the stuff fans do like (such as this version of Wonder Woman).

One of the big differences between DC and Marvel is DC's penchant for gratuitous reboots. The DCEU might as well make use of that, you know? Goodness knows FOX has taken advantage of the X-Men's penchant for wild retcons.

Asgardians of the Galaxy, vol 3.

James Gun opened up a lot of the "cosmic" side of the Marvel universe to the other Marvel movies. With any luck, we'll eventually get a Beta Ray Bill movie out of this.

I wasn't thinking as much about the setting as the retro, faux 80s feeling and bantering between Thor and Hulk. Clearly at least for advertising purposes they decided to make it look a lot like Guardians. A LOT.

Slight correction to a previous comment: the fact that Jessica Jones can't call on the X-Men for help is actually a good thing.

For starters, the X-Men is crawling with telepaths. You can't swing a dead cat in the X-Mansion without hitting a telepath or three. If the MCU was connected to the X-Men universe, then we would have spent the entirety of the Jessica Jones show yelling at the screen "Why doesn't Jessica just call the X-Men? Any telepath could make mincemeat out of Purple Man!" The lack of X-Men made the villain a lot more terrifying.

Furthermore, Jean Grey providing therapy might be a bad thing. The showrunner for Jessica Jones also worked on Dexter, and she points out that curing Dexter was when that show became uninteresting. You need to preserve the central flaws of the main character to keep the audience's interest.

Dexter was cured? Then why the angsty finale?

They must have filmed it right after the first season, the kids look the same. None of that GoT aging dissonance.

Wouldn't that be great to see on screen?

I did notice the Miles Morales reference in the Spider Man movie. And apparently Agents of SHIELD season 5 has Coulson in space - after Piper Halo'd out for the last episode. Uh...okay, go for it, Marvel.

This is why Marvel is doing better than DC:

I'd like to think that video had more cameos, but I'm bad with faces.

I can spot Bautista and Stan Lee, obviously. Is the chick Zoe Zaldana?

I am officially excited for this upcoming comedy, called "The Death of Stalin."

Michael Palin plays Molotov
Steve Buscemi plays Kruschev
Jeffrey Tambor plays Malenkov

And many more!

I for one am looking forward to "Mighty Thor: Battre Royaru".

The only two actors who aren't in the clip are Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper. Everybody else is in it in some shape or form.

Kevin Sorbo is at it again, playing a pathetic parody of an atheist. This time he plays one that gets converted
