How could any woman vote for His Flatulence?

They probably voted for him for ideological reasons unrelated to his behavior towards women. They put cold hard pragmatism before ideals.

Reason and logic wasn't (and still isn't) in play in Trump's election and original popularity. For one thing, the brunt of the American population has no idea what's really happening, because your media is terrible. And secondly, his popularity had a lot to do with both simmering racism, lack of cultural legitimacy, and economic decline.

If you want Trump out either two things have to happen:

1) Trump has to be so terrible that even his supporters can't ignore it anymore (slowly happening)
2) Someone on the Dem side has to give a majority of Americans a compelling reason to vote for them (Hillary didn't do this well enough)

Not all older white folks voted for Trump. I know a few who are related to me--by marriage. What they have in common is a low level of education and at least two have a history with cheating husbands. One I know for certain was sexually abused by a family member. There is a sense that men are just horn dogs and a woman needs to accept that, and placate where possible and avoid what cannot be placated and to accept women's lot as such. Also a strong anti abortion and conservative religious mindset. At the same time, I know quite a number of very religious women who abhor Trump and everything he stands for. Same generation of women, fwiw.

I don't actually believe the polls with regards to the demographics of Trump voters, although the ones I know are not well educated and are conservative and profess Christianity.

It wasn't so much that Trump won as that Hillary lost. If you want to defeat Trump there needs to be an alternative people can care about and feel is on their side. That wasn't Hillary, and it isn't any of the Hillary corporate clones. Channel Bernie or somebody like hm and you can win.

Do you feel same about all those republicans that Trump beat? It wasn't Trump who won the republican primary, but it was the fact that Bush, Cruz, Kasich, Rubio, Carson, Gilmore, Christie, Fiorina, Paul, Santiorum, Huckabee, Pataki, Graham, Jindal, Walker, and Perry who lost? You think running someone like Bernie who had three million fewer popular votes would overcome the Trump wave?

Probably good to reserve judgment... I know a "clique" of young female trumpsters. Don't bring it up to them other than an occasional oblique jab. One of them is a very young one-person business owner entrepreneur, now worth millions and pretty charismatic. She has a circle of flies around her, as well as some older female admirers and all of them swoon over Melania and think Trump is great. They believe CNN is a Deep State anti-Trump machine, and get what little news they get, from Faux Nooz and their incestuous Facebook relationships.

I remember thinking that many women who were saying they were gonna vote for Trump would go into the voting booth and actually vote against him. It was inconceivable to me that the pig would get more than, hell, I don't know, 25% of the female vote. He's the asshole who fucked and dumped women; the kind of prick who cheats on every woman he's ever been in a relationship with; the ass grabbing buffoon; the pervert boss who cops feels every chance he gets; the filthy fuck you'd never want your daughter to be involved with; the kind of man you'd never want your so to be.

How fucking naive was I to think that all of those things would make most women reflect on their own experiences and vote against him?

Oh well, like with god-belief, smart people can still think and do stupid things.

These young women are uniformly misinformed, and get lots of mutual confirmation for their biases. They are so cynical - they love that Trump is pissing off the Deep State. They don't know and don't want to know the facts of Trump's character, and many are from republican families and have been inured their entire lives to the idea that Democrats are always the bad guys, bless their souls.

Agreed. I pondered on it quite a bit upon reading the election results. This may sound strange, but one thing that occurred to me was that if you compare Donald Trump with Christian Grey, the guy in 50 Shades of Grey (probably the most read book by white women in recent history), you see a lot of similarities. Wealthy, tall, high status, famous, powerful, confident, cocky, sexually aggressive, likes his women young...the classic alpha male. Though, admittedly DT is lacking in youth and looks at this point in his life. I think CG even had his own helicopter too, just like Trump. Perhaps, despite his many obvious fatal flaws, the women subconsciously consider Donald some sort of proxy for Christian Grey and voted for him due to a psycho-sexual fascination with him. Just a theory. :)

I think you need to quit believing the promotional blurbs on the backs of books.

MOST women did vote against him, or at leasts did not vote for him.

Yes, that's true. I should've been more accurate with my wording and referred specifically to white women.

At the time of the election I was dating a woman (white) who was a conservative and she hated Trump. She wasn't a fan of Hillary, but she voted for her because of some of the reasons I mentioned in my earlier post. She'd been the target of sexual harassment in the workplace and she saw him as a buffoon. So that's part of what informed my opinion at the time.

seriously

Not many people voted FOR Trump.... If any women at all.

Some women voted AGAINST Clinton, though.

Not really. Not at all in fact.

Trump’s remarks drew laughter from Stern’s female co-host, Robin Quivers, and Trump ultimately indicated that his ultimatum to Melania was not entirely serious.

“If there’s cellulite, will you be man enough to stay in the relationship?” Stern asked at one point.

“I will,” Trump answered. “I will love her so much. You have no idea. I’m a very loyal person. I will love her so much.”

Bonkers.

Experience indicates that Trump's declaration of loyalty here is valueless.

There is no virtue Trump has not proclaimed himself to epitomise; And no evidence that any of those proclamations have the slightest basis in fact.

The OP isn't just about people who think Trump is the greatest. It is also asking how anyone would not be so repulsed by the unparalleled scum that Trump clearly is and has been his whole life that they would find him acceptable even compared to Hillary.
IOW, your answer makes more sense for voting for someone like Jeb Bush against Hillary, but doesn't account of how anyone, let alone any woman, would not be so reviled by Trump that even Hillary seemed better by comparison.

Part of the answer to the OP lies in those who find his same vile nature to be perfectly acceptable when it comes to their own shared bigotries. IOW, they look past his sexism and misogyny because that comes with the territory if you want a racist, gay-bashing, xenophobe, which many white women sadly do (they also probably married one).

Another part is women that may not want those things but they also have the privilege of not caring about those things, so they vote for him thinking that his general disregard for the poor and desire to make the rich richer will benefit them and their family.

Finally, there are the women who (as most women did for much of the last century) vote without thought to their own interests and values, but in deference to those of their father, husband, or the general dominant ideology they were born into.
