Either I'm out of the loop, or there is just too much shit going on that people dying from packages exploding just isn't newsworthy.

Apparently, the first two explosions being linked has made it newsworthy.
article said:
A pair of package explosions that left two people dead in Austin, Texas, over the past 10 days share similarities and authorities suspect they are connected, police said.

The latest incident occurred Monday morning; the other on March 2. In both instances, a resident retrieved a package that blew up when it was opened.

Both packages were not delivered via any mail services and both homes are those of African Americans. A 17-year-old boy died Monday and a woman was transported with non-life-threatening injuries. Another male died from his injuries in the March 2 explosion.
Well, the new rule is, if it wasn't mailed to you, call the ATF.

What does the NRA have to do with this? Why not blame the H.E.L.P.I.N.G.C.H.I.L.D.R.E.N.T.H.R.O.U.G.H.R.E.S.E.A.R.C.H.A.N.D.D.E.V.E.L.O.P.M.E.N.T.* charity?

* Hi, Everyone. Let's Pitch In 'N' Get Cracking Here In Louisiana Doing Right, Eh? Now Then. Hateful Rich Overbearing Ugly Guys Hurt Royally Everytime Someone Eats A Radish, Carrot, Hors d'oeuvre, And Never Does Dishes. Eventually, Victor Eats Lunch Over Peoria Mit Ein Neuesberger Tod.

I hadn't heard about this either.

America has become so numb to mass shootings that mail bombs don't even register on the radar. That can only help the cause of gun extremists.

This is scary.

Ah ain't skeert. Iffen I sees a pakidge by mah dore an no stamp, ah jes grab mah AR an' ventilate that sucka til it don't pose no threat!

I've never seen a box at the door that did have a stamp. Boxes normally get shipping labels, not stamps. I've even gotten one so bedraggled that I didn't see a shipping label on it. (The contents were 110# of metal. By the time it got across the country the box was reduced to multiple pieces held together with the banding that had been put around it.)

Your article fails to indicate that they took joy in this.

English not your strongsuit, guys? The statement "NRA happy as people dying via detonating packages" means that those two things are happening concurrently, not that they're necessarily related.

This is scary.

It is scary that people are so quick to believe that thread title.
It is scary... well... not scary, but something, that you think people just believe the OP title outright.

But we do know that if we ban guns people will just find other ways to kill people. So this is nothing but vindication of that claim by the NRA and their slothfully minded followers.

Yeah, yeah... we ship 300 packages a day, and nary a one with a stamp. But the character mocked in my post wouldn't know that.

LordKiran happy as young girls raped by people traffickers. Those two things are happening concurrently, not that they're necessarily related.

It's another stupid rebuttal in the NRA's arsenal. Why ban AR-15s when people can be killed by UPS packages? Pretty sure that's what Lord Kiran meant.

Did the NRA actually make this argument? Nowhere in the OP or the article.

Well, I'll be cynical.

Neither Trump nor the NRA really care about mass shootings as it's just a cost for doing business.

I think we triggered a snowflake, please back and give them some space so they don't melt.

Jimmy Higgins happy as Trump is president.

How so? I think it's a pretty reasonable assumption to make, considering they place profits from gun purchases as more important the lives of children. I mean, I haven't read the article, so I don't know if the article actually says that, so one could be correct in saying that the article makes no mention of it. However, it could still be a reasonable assumption. Or it could be reasonable to assume that the NRA really doesn't care one way or the other.
