Republicans Freak Out as New Ballots Threaten Florida Senate 'Win'

In a classic move that shocks nobody, republicans are now throwing a tantrum over voters actually wantin to have their ballots counted in the narrow Florida Senate race. As per usual, the pundits seem completely taken aback at where these 'new' ballots came from (spoiler: they are provisional and mail-in ballots that just hadn't been counted yet).

Time will tell as to whether the democrats fight hard for, well, democracy, to prevail and actually count ALL the ballots cast in this narrow race. My personal prediction is that when the ballots are recounted, and the democrats squeak out a narrow victory, it will be the GOP whining for another recount, despite their whining about an actual count of all ballots in the first place.

Fucking Florida, man.

Can you guys just have them vote a couple weeks earlier than everyone else so that by the time they get all their bullshit figured out, they're on track with the rest of the country?

Wow, great news. I have doubts that Republicans would accept a close loss like this in Florida due to recount. I really liked Gore, but republicans would not have given up as fast as Gore did.

My personal hope here is that in the future, the point will be moot as they have re-enfranchised 1.4 million voters, voters likely to vote blue (well, all except the Arian prison factions). But time will also tell how the Infamous Florida Man decides to throw in now that he can vote again.

I understand the FL governor's race is close to the mandatory recount threshhold, the AZ senate winner may flip from Republican to Democrat as a result of mail-in and provisional ballots, the GA governor's race may require a runoff, and that Mia Love (Republican incumbent Congressperson from Utah) may not have lost after all...

Aye, but for some reason, I don't see the republicans saying any of this about the Mia Love race. For the record, I'm fully supportive of Mia winning if she got more votes, and I fully support hand count for ALL close elections. I just wish the republicans could do the same.

Yeah, the Republicans are shitting their pants and flinging the shit in the media about "new" ballots... when the ballots aren't new, but apparently are registered as under votes just for the Senate race.

I ran a little math on the Exit Polls and Scott was leading in the Exit Poll by 0.05%.

Republicans support anything - as long as it lets them win. They also oppose anything like fairness if it endangers their "victory". </capt.obvious>

They keep finding ballots and ballots, by the binder full! until Mia Love wins. Why does this always happen?

Oh hey, speaking of which, THIS just happened: https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/415894-cindy-mccain-rips-arizona-gop-for-suing-over-counting-mail-in-ballots-i-am

"Recount For Me, But Not For Thee"

Banana Republican Trump is spreading conspiracy theories about these races, that Democrats are stealing the elections.

You mean they are just now finding votes in Florida and Georgia – but the Election was on Tuesday?

I get why you would ask this. Largely because I get why the republicans say it. But be better than them. Accept the recount. Investigate for hijinks but please don't pull a Derec and start flinging or supporting kook "hypotheses" to add spin to the discussion. It isn't honest.

Sarcasm.

Also, more sarcasm. Why were there so many buses from rural Utah coming into this District to vote? I read about someone claiming that.

In a world where Humans commonly do this non-sarcastically on the other side, absent a sarcasm tag I will not assume that it is not meant to be ambiguously serious, with a weasel-worded attempt to "walk it back" by claiming sarcasm later.

If I were new, that'd be reasonable, but I have a track record posting here that goes back nearly two decades!

But not everyone reading it knows or even cares about your track record. I spend long times away from here, long enough to forget the positions most people hold, and given how many GOP trolls have been trying to invade and dissemble here, it's easy to lose track, for me. I also have a difficult time parsing sarcasm. I don't think any of us can even afford a single whit of ambiguity in our views here: we think ALL the recounts should happen, GOP thinks only SOME should happen (where they think they can score a 'win'), therefore both sides are not the same. I'm not going to let some troll wander in here, point to your response, and say "See! Both sides are the same! So why shouldn't we be dishonest hypocritical fucks?"

That's actually a good idea. We don't call it WTFlorida for nothing.

Florida Man has become Florida Voter for the time being.
