This is hilarious! We know the saying: Get Woke, Go Broke. They didn't learn their lesson with the Ghostbusters remake in 2016. That movie was a 70 million loss and now they are doing this!

This is obvious pandering. The youtube videos of the news about this is about 150 likes to 1,500 dislikes. 007 is a man, not a woman. Everyone is mostly in agreement that there is a difference between diversity and forced pandering. Jokes going around like, "they couldn't find a black lesbian transwoman vegan to play the role?"

This would be like the equivalent of remaking Black Panther with a white actor or "Shaft" with a white lead actor. Those would NEVER be done. The SJWness is destroying our culture by pandering.
 
Did you read the article? She isn't "James Bond". She's a new character who is taking his code number, and James Bond is still in the movie. This isn't a recasting at all.

Why can't she have a different code number? 007 is Bond, a white male.

Like I said, no other movie would pander to people like this. No one would remake "Shaft" with a white lead actor. Or imagine wonderwoman being played by a male. It just won't happen.

By my calculations, to have lost 70 million because of advertising and promotion and using the documented figures above, that means the advertising and promotion cost 303 million. Really?

Production budget is the cost it takes to make the movie and pay the people. It does not factor in advertising budget such as TV commercials, radio ads and promotion giveaways. This is simple stuff.
 
The Ghostbuster movie didn’t do well because it sucked and wasn’t funny, not because they cast girls in it. All Ghostbuster movies except the first one have been failures. If they’d done the script which had been bouncing around for two decades instead, it would have still failed as badly.

The anti-SJW crowd of freaks and losers had as much effect on it as they did with their boycotts of Captain Marvel and Mortal Kombat 11. They’re pathetic freaks with no following or influence. Just pay as much attention to them as everyone else does. Which is none.

Does it matter? The point is that now it's not even politically correct any more for a white male to have the role of 007.

It's the Marvel disease - black Captain America, female Thor are acceptable changes to these superheroes but where is the White Panther as ruler of Wakanda?
It's getting ridiculous.

Exactly. Its part of the story. This isn't like when they recast a character and change the gender etc. What's immersion breaking or problematic about Bond having his number reassigned after he quit?

What was the reason that the new Men In Black movie failed after they cast a white guy in Will Smith’s role? Was that just because it was a bad movie which nobody was asking for or can we read deep meanings about the destruction of society into it as well?

It depends how they pander. For example, no one was complaining about the Halloween remake with Jamie Lee Curtis as "lead female" because she was in the original. It wasn't pandering to women.

This move with Bond is an obvious pander to women and blacks.
