Trump VS COVID-19 Threat

It's not a conspiracy if the videos show the hospitals being ghost towns.
Well, it's a conspiracy if you take some video and think it's an exhaustive survey, and claim something is 'fishy.'
There ARE empty halls in a lot of hospitals because they're doing nothing but C19. No elective surgery, nothing that cannot be put off, and ambulances no longer take coronary patients to hospital in some areas.

That leap to 'fishy' just shows you're primed for a conspiracy tale. FFVC has you all sucking on a teat of stories about evildoers, and you need a fix.

No, the media claims that the hospitals are overrun with chaos like a warzone.

That can not be if the hospitals are ghost towns, Keith!

If the hospitals are a ghost town, they can't be a warzone.

If the hospitals are a warzone, they can't be a ghost town, yet they are ghost towns.

I am not denying the virus, but maybe it is being blown out of proportion by the elites to get us to live in fear, just like climate change. The media elites tell us to pay a carbon tax, while the elites live in their mansions with 10 cars not doing a thing about it.

Just seems like stuff to control the mindless masses.

There's barely been any deaths in the U.S. from the virus, and everything has to shut down? People were posting statistics about how there are far more deaths from cars, yet no one says "stop driving." There's more deaths from AIDS per year. There's more deaths via abortion per year, but 20,000 deaths due to this virus shuts us down? Just seems awfully fishy to us.

This whole thing is getting fishy now. There's a new "#filmyourhospital" and many of the videos show the hospitals as being ghost towns, not "overrun with patients in chaos." Even the NYC hospitals show tons of ambulances parked and not doing anything. There's no warzone atmosphere at any of these hospitals where people film.

Some people even went to the testing sites and they have a tent up just for show with nothing underneath them.

CBS even put up a video of a hospital in Italy and said it was "a hospital in NYC" to fear monger. They were caught lying.

This is getting very strange now...

Seeing as you live in the world of youtube;

No conspiracy required. Just some fucking common sense.

Why should anyone listen to you about anything medical related again?

Yes, that's where I found all the comments of people saying that Beau doesn't know what he's talking about and he's an establishment shill. Have you read the comments? Tons calling him out.

He also doesn't understand that the media said the hospitals are OVERRUN LIKE WARZONES. Media never said they were ghost towns. THE PEOPLE found out they were ghost towns when they went to film the hospitals expecting to see chaos like warzones.

Wonderful, we're back to using youtube comments as a legitimate source of information. Let's nip this on the bud - the conspiracy theory you're trying to spew is complete bullshit. You have officially sunk into the realm of flat earthers and lizard people by endorsing this crap.

You got it backwards. There are 20,000 deaths so far with a shutdown. How many would there be without it? This is like saying that you don't need to wear a condom because you have had sex hundreds of times with a condom and not once did you get anyone pregnant.

Trump still acts like a big baby.

Besides the obvious explanation - class, i.e. Black and Hispanic people being more likely to work in essential services (formerly known as low skill jobs) like retail, cleaning services, garbage collection, that gets them exposed - I wonder if there's another factor: household structures. I know that that it has been presented as an explanation for the huge difference between Germany and Italy. In Italy, many (most?) people live in multi-generational housholds, with granny and grandpa sharing a table with the grandchildren going to school/university, with the children working and watching football games live before the shutdown (and in many cases still working if they're in essential services/industries). In Germany, that's much less frequently the case. So rather than Germans being intrinsically immune, the story goes, Germany has so far avoided to get many elderly people infected, most of those infected are mobile, younger and middle-aged people, who in Italy would bring the virus home to their parents.

Is that a potential factor here? Do Blacks and Hispanics live in multi-generational households at significantly higher rates than Whites in the US? Any data on that factor?

Just found some census data on this. Apparently 3.8% of New York's white-only households, but 8.9% of multiracial households, but 10.9% of Hispanic households and 11.4% of black households are multi-generational (defined as at least 3 generations). This does seem significant and might explain some of the disparity, especially if Black and Hispanic working-age people are still out at significantly higher rates.

Sweden has a left of center government that has [ until now] not taken measures to safeguard it's people as compared to say, Australia, as this link shows. Sweden has less than half Australia's population yet has 400 deaths as compared far less than 100 deaths in Australia. Is that a fair enough comparison of the left VS right?

Sweden has so far recorded more than 400 coronavirus deaths — about 10 times as many as Australia. Its population is around half that of Australia.

But its Government is standing by its relatively relaxed approach to the pandemic.

Rather than telling people what to do — or, worse, telling them off — the Government is asking Swedes to do the right thing, and giving them the liberty to prove they are responsible citizens.

While the Government has taken some measures, such as limiting social gatherings to 50 people and closing high schools and universities, experts say it is betting on Sweden's "social obedience".

But that's a lot of trust to put in your people at a time of global pandemic, and a gamble that could have catastrophic consequences

Sweden's left of centre gouvernment has fucked up its response and is now edging towards 600 deaths.

Trump's America has fucked up its response and is on track to overtake Spain in total deaths *today*.

I know who did more harm.

I understand that this site is to most here is like getting a vampire to look into a mirror, or waving a crucifix at them. But it does have FACT CHECK.

Many Democrats and much of the media claim that President Donald Trump has mishandled and continues to mishandle the response to the coronavirus pandemic.

But a Johns Hopkins study found the United States is better prepared for a pandemic than any other country. Released in October 2019, the Global Health Security Index examined 195 countries on their preparedness and ability to handle an epidemic or pandemic. It found: "No country is fully prepared for epidemics or pandemics, and every country has important gaps to address."

No, Trump did not cut funding for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Among those pushing this untruth is former Vice President Joe Biden, who said, "They've cut the funding for the CDC." Trump proposed a CDC cut, but Congress disagreed. FactCheck.org wrote: "It's misleading at best to claim Trump 'slashed funding,' when his proposals haven't taken effect. For instance, Trump's fiscal 2020 budget proposal would have reduced CDC funding by $750.6 million, compared with what was enacted for fiscal 2019. ... But Congress passed, and Trump signed, a budget that increased CDC funding by $420 million."

If it's true that the US was the "best prepared" nation then doesn't that just prove that the response to this crisis was totally mishandled considering how the infection was allowed to spread so widely for so long with so little hinderance???

I did notice how Larry Elder didn't source any of the quotes he attributed to Biden. Not exactly an honest technique, but par for the course for Larry Elder. Unlike this article, which sources all the ways Trump fucked up. And this was written by George W Bush's former speech writer. Not exactly are far left commie fringe loon.

But I guess if you can't argue that Trump is doing a fantastic job, obfuscate by focusing on discrepancies over minor details like Trump wanting to gut the CDC but couldn't. Because that sends a much better message on how Trump is handling this pandemic.

A report that also finds that
Even high-income countries have weaknesses in
their health systems. For example, the United States
scores in the bottom tier of countries for the access
to healthcare subindicator owing to lack of governmentally guaranteed access to healthcare plus high
out-of-pocket expenditures per capita. "

Common sense dictates that, during the rapid spread of a highly contagious novel disease, testing should be free of charge, and there should be absolutely no incentive to keep quiet about a potential infection (i.e. the state should guarantee full replacement of lost income due to being unable to work while quarantined). If you have a significant number of *poor* carriers who never get diagnosed and drag themselves to work, you will inevitably have the disease spread, putting *everyone* at risk. Failing to take either step - ensuring free testing and guaranteeing the livelihoods of anyone who might get quarantined after a positive test result - is criminal negligence on the side of policy makers (in this case, the Trump administration) even if it is your belief that poor people's deaths don't matter quite as much, and even if you're married to the idea that universal health care is a bad idea under normal circumstances.

Just as we have in Australia. But the NSW government agencies still f......d up badly and let infected passengers off a cruise ship disembark and infect hundreds of people. The police has now launched an inquiry and charges may be laid.

Australia: 2 deaths per million if the population, only 1 in the last 24 hours, cases growing at around 1% per day. Active cases significantly declining.

USA: 45 deaths per million, deaths growing at around 15% and cases at around 8% per day, so it looks like there is a lot to come yet.

Dr. Fauci said:
And I say that with some caution, because as I said, when we do that, when we pull back and try to open up the country, as we often use that terminology, we have to be prepared that when the infections start to rear their heads again that we have it in place a very aggressive and effective way to identify, isolate, contract trace and make sure we don't have those spikes we have now. So the answer to your question is yes, if we do the things that we need to do to prevent the resurgence.

Dr. Fauci said this in regards to whether people would be able to vacation this summer. While I very much want to have things open, how in the heck is this remotely in the cards, or should I say, until the next two weeks pass. We are two plus weeks into shutdowns in several states. This week and next week will potentially present us with the number of transmissions during the shutdown. Without knowing how well the cases have been reduced in a manner within the shutdown, how can we even ponder about opening things up in the summer.

Currently, the shutdown has definitely seemed to impact the number of new cases... BUT... it has far from eliminated new cases. 1,000 new cases might as well be 1,000,000 when it comes to holding this thing back again. And NY is having several thousands every day. About 80% of the country is at 100+ a day, 20% is 1000+ a day.

Looking back at the stats, New York has had around 8,000 new cases a day since the end of March. So the percentages are improving, but we aren't seeing a reduction in the new cases in aggregate daily, which is a problem.
