Trump files motion to argue his case to SC

How is contesting an election subverting government? Happens nearly every election, someone, somewhere, contests an election. That is no subversion. Subversion is the effort to overthrow government. If you're contesting an election, you're inherently recogonizing that government.

If there were a sound basis for it, yes--but the long string of losses says otherwise.

Okay, now you’re confusing things. Whether Trump has a meritorious basis to challenge an election result is entirely separate from subversion. Subversion is the Weather Underground, not a lawsuit.

Seditious abuse of the judicial process.

The fucker knew he would lose the popular vote as far back as summer -- the polls were consistent and the voters were firm in their intentions. This is why Trump and his party started the subversion months before November -- "the ONLY way we can lose is if THEY steal the election" -- which is what is called a lie. He intended to destroy confidence in our political system, and with a depressing amount of his gaslit followers, he has succeeded. Their strategy was to bellow about fraud (without a basis that could be brought into court), make the claim that mail-in votes were untrustworthy (never mind how Trump was accustomed to vote), and then look for any scintilla of procedural questions that could be stuffed into a lawsuit. Game the system and gamble that the judiciary you've been packing for most of a decade will overturn the will of the voters. This is a man and a party utterly without principle.
Quick quiz:
1) Who actually tried to keep one side from voting: A) Louis DeJoy B) Joey Heatherton C) Joy Reid
2) Who declared there is no evidence of substantial fraud in the election: A) William Barr B) Barbra Streisand C) A Hershey bar
3) Who tried to steal the election: A) Trump's GOP B) the Grinch C) Chelsea Clinton

The purpose of the flood of lawsuits is to subvert our democracy. His Flatulence lost. Period. He has presented no evidence of anything wrong with the election other than he did not win.

It started way before the lawsuits. When Trump was trailing in the polls even though he was holding rallies while Biden was not campaigning, he began a constant verbal assault on our democracy. He deliberately undermined confidence in our elections, and began to claim "fraud" long before any ballot was cast. In fact, he's been claiming widespread voter fraud since 2016. Even hired a "blue ribbon" panel to investigate.

They found nothing.

Undeterred, somewhere in his mind Trump convinced himself that it happened, was going to happen again, and said so loudly. Over and over again. He used the power of his bully pulpit to convince millions of Americans to not just support him, but to believe that if he didn't win in a landslide, then the entire system is fraudulent.

This is verbal abuse, and as I've learned, verbal abuse can cause damage just as surely as physical abuse. The victim is told by their abuser "you're fat, you're ugly, you're worthless, and nobody will ever love you if you leave me." Repeat that message over and over every day, and the victim will begin to believe it. That's a big part of the reason why victims of domestic violence don't "just get up and leave," and the damage lasts longer than bruises.

Trump has been abusing our democracy consistently and for years. As for the lawsuits, it should be clear to anyone with a solid grip on reality by now that there's no "there" there. Yet Trump and his followers cling to the belief that the "big win" lawsuit is right around the corner.

Oh, my fucking god! Dumbass trumper are spreading the hashtag #succession when they want to say secession.

It's trending on twitter and parler big time.

Careful. Succession could refer to Don Jr.'s run in '28, Eric's in '36, and Barron's in '44.
On second thought, nah. Just a bunch of dumbass Trumpers whose spelling is bad as Donald's but who see the majority-minority coming.

It's hard to rebel when you can't even spell.

If at first you don't succeed in stealing an election, keep on sucking 'til you do suck seed. Then if you still don't suck seed, just take your ball and go home. #suckseed

The red hatted morons are not thinking this through. So a lot of red states secede. Kiss your Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid goodbye. No more federal dollars for education. Nor for infrastructure. Roads, bridges et al. You state just got clobbered by a massive hurricane? No help from Uncle Sam. No EPA stopping wholesale polluters from trashing your state. No more military. No jets, tanks, warships, bases, generous military retirement plans. No generous government grants to Universities for medical research, science or other useful research programs. Cooperation with the FBI, DEA, and other law enforcement agencies is now a big problem. These morons are not thinking this out.

Especially considering how many suckseeding states take from federal funds versus those that take less or pay more than they take.

Blue equals more in this graphic:

Virginia, one of the top takers, is now blue politically, and so over time under Dem leadership will likely become less blue in terms of taking federal money as shown on this map. Just an evidence based hunch.

Breaking: Rudy Giuliani to appeal Supreme Court ruling at the Mall Of America Food Court.

It's Sedition.

Sedition is the illegal act of inciting people to resist or rebel against the government in power. It's what the southern states did at the start of the Civil War. Sedition is the rebellious talk and encouragement that might lead to a mutiny, and can be charged as a crime, like treason.

So for the people yapping “not my president” for the last four years, sedition? While it may offend Zippy’s authoritarian urges, filing a lawsuit is NOT an illegal act. Even if the lawsuit is frivolous.

Which president are you referring to that said "not my president"? We are talking about the president of the United States here; he's not only a citizen. And which Citizen(s) filed law suits to overturn an election beyond requesting recounts anyway? I'm not sure what you're basing your comparison on.

False equivalence is a common theme of right wing arguments.

Idiots! The colors are backwards. Both because red ink should be red and because it's red states that are red.

On what basis is Trump precluded from filing a lawsuit? (Irrespective of merit.). Don’t hand wave or use ad hominem. Being president doesn’t mean he loses his rights as a citizen or political candidate.

Hey, anyone remember when Gore whined to the Supreme Court to try and win Florida?

Oh wait... that was W. Nevermind. ;)
