It’s understandable that we may not want long prison sentences for drug possession, but even the Portuguese recognize that you’ve got to separate the user from the poison.Let's look at statistics instead. If your wild and wooly, fact-free assertion were correct, Portugal would be in heaps of trouble when it decriminalised the use of all illicit drugs in 2001.
