Moved Live Trump Trial Updates

On the other hand, the book was thrown at 1/6 rioters even for far lesser crimes than arson.
Attempting to subvert or overthrow a nation is not a lesser crime than arson.

Attempting to damage or destroy the very mechanism of government that gives law a basis, has always been one of the greatest crimes it is possible to commit.
But whatabout if black people did the arson, and attempting to overturn the results of an election as done by white people? Huh? Hadn't thought about that whatabout, did you?!

That bit of sarcasm aside, let's bring it back to the trial which is about (whatabout?) going to start back up tomorrow morning. As has been pointed out, it is not about the fact that Trump was banging a "side chick" while gearing up for a Presidential run, or the fact that he (allegedly) cornered a porn star in a room and intimidated her into having sex with him while his third trophy wife was at home with their newborn son and subsequently paid both of those women hush money.

Been a long way since "I did not have sexual relations with that woman...Miss Lewinsky," hasn't it?

Anyway, the case is about falsifying business records to hide the fact that said hush money was paid in order to influence the outcome of an election. Weird, isn't it? Trump claims that the trial is "election interference" even though it is about his own attempt to interfere in an election.

It is so bizarre it makes me want to just sit back and reminisce about what a wonderful man the late, great Hannibal Lecter was while eating a hot dog. Does anyone else love hot dogs?

Not it is not. When pointing out hypocrisy requires “what about” it is “whataboutism “. It is that simple.
Obviously, we disagree. False claims of "whataboutism" are the last refuge of a hypocrite who is being called out.
Your position is illogical. When one says” what about” it is a whataboutism . It doesn’t matter what the intended point is.

Other than PROPERTY DAMAGE, that is.

I don't think you understand the stakes here. A centuries old republic won at the cost of thousands of lives in a revolution, hundreds of thousands of lives in a civil war, and hundreds of thousands more in two world wars, vs a window at a CVS Pharmacy?

I mean...come on. I get my prescriptions at my local CVS. Buried within my 2 foot long receipt is a coupon for $4 off my next purchase. Surely this is more precious than a democracy!

Believe me, when BLM’s rampaging is further legalized, CVS will be among the first to be looted and burned. You’ll wish the Jan 6 Patriots had prevailed!

It is also claimed that the case is about business records, not sex, and yet Stormy was invited to testify about salacious details of the sexual encounter.
The relationship between Trump and Daniels is an essential part of the case. Of course she was invited to testify. Trump used campaign donations to cover up that relationship. Then falsified the records of the cover up of that transaction. Fraudulent use of campaign funds. Basically stealing from his donors.

This prosecution is likely making a Trump win more probable and not less. People see it as a sex case and not a business records case, just like they saw the Clinton case as a sex case and not a perjury case.
People see a lot of things that aren't true. Like Trump being competent and honest. That doesn't mean we should kowtow to those people in the face of blatant criminality.

People saw the Clinton case as a perjury case over a question that was inconsequential. I don’t know what the public makes of this Trump case.

The big difference here is Trump acts guilty.

BTW, you are sure turning yourself into a pretzel defending Trump in this case and the Jan6 rioters.

Piece of cake for a practiced contortionist.
They can’t be as bad as those BLM window breaking thugs.

Derec doesn't appreciate that the reason the Jan 6th insurrectionists have been going to jail was because the fuckers provided proof of their crime online. They self incriminated themselves.

But those white folks were just self incriminating their patriotism in defending democracy!!!!!

That is exactly what they thought, until some online were like 'Dudes, you probably shoupdn't post that.' They were so invested in the lie.

Donnie brags about his lust for daughter Ivanka.
That is weird, yes.
Did Bill lust for Chelsea?
Of course not, but then again, she is no Ivanka.
Wait. So it's ok to lust after your daughter as long as she's hot? Oh that is really effed up, Derec.
Lulz.
I think maybe the trumpophile is jealous because his boy didn’t have to pay.

Former Scumbag lawyer of Scumbag, testifying about scumbagging. Prosecution hopes to convince jury that Former Scumbag lawyer testimony will implicate Scumbag in scumbag crime, while defense hope to use scumbaggedness of Former Scumbag lawyer to impeach his testimony against their Scumbag client.

That's how deep the delusion goes. They posted their crimes online both because they didn't think they were doing anything wrong, and they were proud of what they were doing.

Reminds me of the time I told a MAGA co-worker of the time that Trump sexually harassed a friend of mine. He said "ha ha! That's my boy!"

Not only do they think they were not wrong in storming the Capitol, but that Trump himself can do no wrong. They even argued that the massive fraud he committed in New York was not actually a crime at all, because "where's the victim?"

Hopefully all those bags are compostable.

Michael Cohen has been forgiven his sins by the law. Every time I see him confess his crimes, I think of the words to "Amazing Grace".

Not to mention he is all in favor of campus protesters being tried and jailed to the fullest extent of the law for trespassing.

Just finished watching a video from David Pakman that referenced one of Fragilego Mussolini's post-trial rants outside the courtroom from last week, and...wow.

Link below, but I transcribed the transcript:
"...and you wait'll see. If we don't win this nation, this nation is finished. You wait'll you see what happened. Because all of that stuff will be closed up. He let a lot of my energy polices go through because enercy was starting under his - what they are doing starting to go up so high so he lot a...he let a lot of 'em continue including the drilling."

Um...what?
