Will Biden drop out? Who replaces him?

Harris campaign reports 58,000 volunteer sign-ups in 48 hours. And in addition to the $100 million in new contributions, another $150 million in commitments from the largest PAC that supported Biden.

Next up is to see if Harris’s history of working with the CA tech industry will cause some of the billionaires to rethink their plans to back Trump. That would cause an epic meltdown.
Will Harris (or any other candidate for that matter) getting so much money/donations raise the issue of "quid pro quo"?
How is the allegations/perception of the 'best candidate money can buy' be handled?
I wonder about that because in Australia, unless they are an independent, we donate to a party rather than a person. The party, not the candidate, determines how that money is spent, allocated etc. This lessens, but does not entirely remove, the perception of buying candidates.
Trump and the GOP generally receive near the same amount of money as the Democrats. This is in large part thanks to Citizens United, a case where conservative SCOTUS justices felt that money wasn't an issue when it came to elections. The even more conservative SCOTUS (can we even call them conservative now?) much more recently ruled that payments after services rendered (kickbacks) wasn't a bribe. We have way too much money in our elections, and it is the conservative SCOTUS justices that helped make it that way.

Whether Harris will be her own President was an argument I heard about VP Gore. Sure, the opposing candidate really wasn't qualified for the position, but the 'bought off' argument seems to get dragged out when there aren't much in the way of ways to justify voting for the other candidate.

Why haven’t we seen a CT claiming that Biden has known for months that he would back out, and threw the debate to create a crisis that he resolved by withdrawing right after the Republican convention and immediately endorsing Harris, resulting in an outpouring of relief and $$$ and MAGA tantrums? You know, the “senile” guy who’s actually a supervillain playing 3D chess.

That’s funny coming from a MAGA hire.
Really.
If Harris is the intellectual bottom of the barrel, Trump is an intellectual earthworm living in putrid ground underneath the barrel.
Naw, they just think that highly of Rep. Omar.

Meanwhile, a couple of the last few Presidents weren't exactly overflowing with Federal Government experience. Barack Obama was a professor of Constitutional Law turn politician, Donald Trump was an old angry white guy that was riding on the economic success of his slum lord father.

Fear.

Russians (sensibly) fear their leaders, who have always been unhesitant in the use of violence against the merest hint of dissent.

They don't have some deep fear of taking personal responsibility; They have a deep fear of the swift and severe reprisals that any attempt to do so will bring.
Could not agree more. There is also the complete lack of experience living in a world where one is actually free. And that lack of experience and exposure is multigenerational. In the case of Russia there has never been an enlightenment. When there has been tumultuous change it has been to replace one ruthless police system with another. It's a gangland state where terror, imprisonment, torture, corruption and extortion are now normalized and where their domestic products are inferior and cannot be sold globally because the quality is so poor. They're basically a gas station that also sells vodka. Remain obedient and subservient to the bosses and survive same as a gang.

Please refrain from insulting intellectually challenged earthworms living under barrels.

Meanwhile......

......
The nonpartisan Vote.org website saw its highest level of new voter registrations of the 2024 election cycle in the first two days after Biden dropped out and endorsed vice president Kamala Harris, with 38,500 people signing up – a 700 percent spike, reported Politico Playbook.

That's even higher than when Taylor Swift made an Instagram post urging her fans to register, Playbook noted, and most of the new registrations came from voters who are 34 years old or younger.

You are describing 1990s Russia when US were running pretty much everything in Russia.
Nobody under 50 drinks vodka in Russia anymore, just saying.

The American Conservative on X: "Rep. Harriet Hageman says Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris is "intellectually, just really kind of the bottom of the barrel."
They are not wrong. Part of the reason why democratic blob decided to run corpse of Biden for the second time was the fact that Kamala turned out to be a dud and learned/achieved nothing as VP.
She is simply stupid, but I believe if elected she would do what her handlers would tell her to do. All she needs to do is to get rid of her laughter. She is a democratic version of 2nd Bush but even dumber minus character and charisma. Yes, Bush had character and charisma. Hillary is better than Kamala in every respect, I am not saying she is any good, just better. Warren is obviously way better, and Whitmer too. Basically all the usual female candidates including Michelle Obama are way better people/candidates than Harris.

Curious, what does this make VP Quayle or President Bush or Governor Palin if VP Harris is "bottom of the barrel" and "stupid"?

BSOD

Mr. The Levees Held (after the levees hadn't held)? What happened to you?
Yes, Bush had character and charisma.
No he didn't. He had an engineered persona so he could get into politics, and his father's coat tails.

There might be better candidates, but Harris pretty much had to be the nominee. And I'm certain that had Gov. Whitmer got the nod, she'd be "stupid" and Harris a much better candidate.

Canada is run by Nazis?
I noticed you omitted Ukraine.
Jesus fucking Christ, are you still peddling the bullshit that the country with a Jew President is jam packed with Nazis? Have you learned to spell his name properly yet?
Yes, I am still "peddling" it.
And Elensky is not technically a jew. First his mother is not a jew, secondly, he claims to be christian I think.
I have never called him a nazi. Regime in Ukraine is a nazi regime, in the sense that it contains and relies on support of nazi elements in ukrainian society. There is no contradiction here.

Sorry to participate in this derail, but barbos spreads a lot of misinformation. Both of Zelensky's parents are very Jewish, and so is their son. He does not claim to be a Christian. Not only is President Zelensky Jewish, but Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, the head of government, is also Jewish. Despite having been devastated by rampant antisemitism and the Nazi occupation, Ukraine still has a strong Jewish population and tradition.

Let me ask you a question.
Kamala talking to recording/Biden over the phone, you honestly say there is nothing weird there?
How do you explain so many people with let just say +30 IQ points over average notice the same damn thing and do so independently? And I suspect most average IQ people notice that too.

There's nothing at all wrong with the phone call. Only partisan and conspiracy addled brains would think so.

I see no evidence that intelligence shields you from believing in the stupidest conspiracies. Intelligent people are just as prone to cognitive biases as anybody else. Intelligence doesn't protect you from falling for conmen nor baseless conspiracies. Intentional critical thinking is what does.

And Weinstein's theory is no different than any other empty, mental-masturbatory, self-serving, unfalsifiable religious belief, to a critical thinker.

You do realize that that these "conspirators" occasionally admit and confirm these "conspiracy" theories turning them into facts?
