Trump's Appointments

Todd Blanche of the InJustice Department trying to intimidate the TV networks to make the Piece of Shit happy.

Blanche is just as fascist as the piece of shit.

The Justice Department is investigating whether the major television networks — ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC and Fox News — violated federal antitrust laws when the group briefly suspended their pooled coverage of President Trump, according to six people with knowledge of the department’s action.

Officials from the Justice Department contacted networks on Friday and demanded communications and materials related to the White House TV pool, the people said. The pool is a longstanding system where the networks share the responsibility of providing footage of the president and distributing it to other news outlets.

Last month, the networks collectively suspended their pool footage of Mr. Trump for several days after the president barred CNN journalists from the White House grounds, which prevented CNN from participating in the pool. Video footage of some major events, including Mr. Trump’s greeting of President Xi Jinping of China, was not carried by any major news station.

Pool coverage... reflection pool coverage? ;)

The White House is upset that the big bad media isn't covering him. Jebus!

In a normal world, Zacharia would never have gotten the position. And right now, even within the confines of the insane Trump world we live in, it feels like Zacharia might not be the White House Press Secretary for long.

The 41-year-old reportedly tried to scrub her social media history of controversial posts promoting false vaccine conspiracies, urging Trump to run for an unconstitutional third term, and calling for the federal government to take over California.

The deleted posts were uncovered in a deep dive by The Bulwark, which used the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine to find an old Twitter account Zacharia deleted four years ago, along with some more recently deleted posts.

In one post last year, Zacharia responded to a message from Trump adviser Stephen Miller about sanctuary cities by calling on the nation to "suspend habeas corpus," a fundamental legal protection against arbitrary or unlawful arrest and imprisonment by the government.
Attractive and blond seems to be the only requirements. But batshit insane could impact things (or pretending to be batshit insane?) for her White House career.

She also shared an article that falsely claimed "8 in 10 women had a miscarriage after getting the COVID vaccine," The Bulwark reported.
...or maybe she'll see out the term. Who the heck knows anymore?

You're not saying that Trump would hire a massive liar as press secretary are you? But then how are we to believe anything that Trump says???

Difficult to tell if she is a liar or just crazy... or got so wound up in the machine, she forgot she was lying... kind of like the flat earthers.

Zacharia is out.
I watched a bit of her interview on Hannity, and even he seemed exasperated by her. It appears that the selection process was little more than "is she blonde? Is she pretty? Can she start right away?" and then she blamed her lack of preparedness on...pretty much everything other than her. It was all excuses and even Lumpy wasn't buying it.

Meanwhile, I was reminded of a series of job interviews I went through a few years ago for an entry-level analyst gig. Five rounds. An analyst that was already part of the team, one of the company's attorneys (an actual lawyer), a veteran police detective who was part of the team, a former Pentagon analyst, and the head of the department who was former British Special Forces.

Did I get the job? No, but I beat out 95 other applicants to be the "runner up" and would have been the next hire had things gone differently with the company (long story). Point being that I went through a gauntlet of vetting and months of waiting for something nowhere near as consequential as the mouthpiece of the fucking White House.

And don't get me started on my 30 plus years in media and what I think of her "performance" from that angle...

Zacharia is out.
Did she last less than one scaramucci?
I think she beat the Mooch -- his tenure was a full eleven days, and she did herself in, in just five.
It's a bit unfair of Trump, as he's spent two years trying to make Canada the 51st state, and she made China a state on her 2nd day.
I think the new PS should be a bot, as I had trouble deciding if Katie actually had a pulse, drew breath, and farted.

I'm curious if she won the position over someone else.

I'm also curious about the discussions about whether to back her in continuing the role.

Staffer 1: Is she just barely competent enough?
Staffer 2: She keeps walking into the bug zapper.
Staffer 1: You aren't answering the question.
Staffer 3: She just asked why the bust of Lincoln is ignoring her.
Staffer 1: But is she just barely competent enough?!
