The undercover video operation run by right-wing operative James O’Keefe is in turmoil, wracked by unhappy donors and O’Keefe’s “outright cruel” behavior towards his staff, according to an internal memo signed by a third of its employees.
Working for O’Keefe at Project Veritas can mean being “publicly humiliated” by him in what amounts to “public crucifixions,” and even being required to take lie detector tests, his unhappy employees write in the memo.
“I would describe Project Veritas’ current environment with this saying: ‘The beatings will continue until morale improves,’” one disgruntled staffer wrote in the memo.
On Monday, Project Veritas staffers presented the nonprofit’s board with the document covering his behavior, saying they were “troubled and frustrated” by O’Keefe’s management style. Later that day, the board voted to reinstate two executives O’Keefe had fired a week earlier, while O’Keefe went on paid leave.
And they'll always be bagging on M&Ms.It just occurred to me that someone may have told Ron that gas stoves were a kitchen table issue.
Slave contract???Far-right YouTuber Steven Crowder has accused conservative media outlets like The Daily Wire of conspiring with tech companies to censor conservative views after the company offered Crowder a $50 million deal that would cut his compensation if his social media channels were demonetized or boycotted, which Crowder called a “slave contract.”
I agree. The Daily Wire’s CEO Jeremy Boreing confirmed in a YouTube video Thursday details of Crowder’s job offer, claiming the YouTuber misrepresented the contract that would have awarded Crowder $50 million over four years.
Boreing chalked up the contract stipulations to running a profitable media business, and said Crowder seems to think he deserves to be paid “millions and millions and millions of dollars,” whether his show drives revenue to The Daily Wire or not.
I enjoyed watching that.Far-right media personalities criticized Crowder, including The Daily Wire cofounder Ben Shapiro, who said it was “rather nasty” to attack friends over his “misinterpretation of a document that offers you $50 million.”
Matt Walsh, who hosts a show on The Daily Wire, said the suggestion that the company’s pundits are “somehow muzzled or controlled is blatantly absurd,” while Candace Owens said, “It was a total bitch move.”
Like how?Crowder defended himself in a YouTube video Thursday, saying his comments were “not about the money” and that he encouraged The Daily Wire to change their business model to not rely so much on advertiser revenue.

News Corporation is cutting its staff by 5% globally, including in Australia, after its news media division recorded a second-quarter earnings decline of 47%. The decision inevitably reopens questions about the future of the company’s newspapers, particularly once Rupert Murdoch is gone.

Tennessee is currently leading the nation in anti-LGBTQ hate, with 26 anti-lgbtq bills moving through the legislature. Last week Governor Lee made national news for quickly signing a cruel trans youth health care ban, and the nation’s first drag show felony bill, which threatens to lock up drag performers.
What made the bill even more absurd was the revelation that Governor Lee himself had dressed in drag, on a school campus, in front of minors, back in 1977.
Drag for me, felony for thee.
Lee’s hypocrisy made him a laughingstock, even getting him sent up on Saturday Night Live.
Well hang onto your hats, folks, because it turns out Lee isn’t the only huge hypocrite at the highest levels of Tennessee’s government.
Enter Lt. Gov. Randy McNally, who it turns out has been openly leaving heart emojis and other encouraging comments under very racy pics on the instagram page of a young gay male aspiring performer named Franklyn McClur, who grew up in Knoxville – McNally is from Oak Ridge, but represents parts of Knoxville, where he lives with his wife Janice. They have 2 adult daughters. Mcnally is Roman Catholic.
We were alerted to the pics by an anonymous twitter user who came across them – someone who knew of Franklyn and was entertained by his page. They sent us screen shots and told us where to find them. We were in disbelief.
Sure enough, there they were – and still are, at this writing: Visit Franklyn’s page here under the moniker “@FranklynSuperstar”
McNally repeatedly used his VERIFIED account to post underneath some of Franklyn’s raciest pictures. McNally is apparently very big on heart and flame emojis.
UPDATE TO THIS STORY: Lt. Governor Randy Mcnally has issued a statement blaming us for calling out his hypocrisy – but, importantly, not denying he’s the one who made these comments, not claiming he was hacked, and not blaming an underling. You can watch our interview with Franklyn, the man in the pics, here. Or listen to the PODCAST.
In 2018, a graphic novel version of the diary began to revive similar criticisms from parents. A school district in Florida banned it in April, following a campaign by the local chapter of Moms for Liberty, a grassroots organization designated by the Southern Poverty Law Center as an extremist group. Texas' Keller Independent School District removed it last year, too.

Data from the American Library Association shows book-banning challenges across the country hit a two-decade high last year. Texas banned more books than any other state between July 2021 and June 2022, according to PEN America.
