Nothing is fragile other than the pseudoarguments offered by the fans of the Red Army Squad.
If they get cooperation, rather than obstruction, from local law enforcement they can focus on making fewer mistakes. How in the world would that help?
The problem is that the Democrats (and you) don't want ICE to deport illegals in the first place. The "sometimes they make mistakes" is just a cudgel.
Do you really think illegals should get free lawyers? The problem is that you don't get representation in deportation proceedings
In any case, if you have a valid visa or are a citizen that should be pretty easy to demonstrate, even without a lawyer.
Though the national Green New Deal remains stalled, some states, like New York State, have their own GND's, and AOC has endorse NY's version. Wind energy, solar energy, batteries, retrofitting old buildings, congestion pricing, ..."I was the only one to give her a big hug when she visited here," says Marilyz Cabrera, who works for the handbag section at Macy's in the Parkchester area of the Bronx.
"Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a people person, and she doesn't mind getting her hands dirty," the 28-year-old Colombian immigrant explains, telling the story of the young legislator's neighborhood victory lap after she became a member of the United States Congress earlier the year.
She has a residence in the Bronx for when she returns to her district."Using green energy is good for the planet," says Cabrera. "There are so many ways we can spend money more sustainably, and be productive without polluting as much."
...
"We support her ideas. [Ocasio-Cortez] came to our community, so we voted for her," Shaibi added. "She spoke about immigration, improving roads and solar power."
...
"Not one person I've bumped into here has mentioned something negative about AOC," said David Negron, 56, a field representative for the Renaissance home health aide company recruiting new employees just across from the local Starbucks.

Ironically some forms of pollution counteract warming by blocking sunlight. The REAL climate heroes are the Republicans who fight against regulations and advocate for MORE pollution!
But seriously, one can point to hypocrisy of people like Gore or AOC (main purpose of the GND is not green but red, so it should be called RND) without at the same time advocating climate denialism.

In a rally in a gathering for training Democratic activists, by Rep. Jamie Raskin. It got a lot of people when AOC decided to show up.“It has taken us 240 years to have this unique composite in the congress, in this moment, and we will not go back,” she told more than 700 cheering Democrats at the Silver Spring Civic Centre.
“We will not go back to the days of injustice. We will not go back, we will go forward. But we sure as hell will not stand still.”
More than some spoiled brat who has been bailed out all too many times.“It has been a kind of crazy week, hasn’t it?” she said as she began her remarks.
“America has always been the story of those fighting to advance the rights of others,” she continued. “And some, clinging to the past, to preserve the rights of a few.”
... “She speaks very profoundly for the millennials my age coming from immigrant backgrounds,” said Samantha Labastida, 23, a child care provider from Wheaton. “She’s the voice we have been yearning for.”
... “She’s an outsider like Trump, but with her it’s a positive,” he said.
“She doesn’t have any money, she’s from the Bronx, and she canvassed in shoes that whittled to the sole. She’s genuine.”
This land is your land and this land is my landMr Raskin – who works with Ms Ocasio-Cortez as the chair and vice chair, respectively, of the House Oversight Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties – predicted when he introduced her on Thursday night that she would be “one of the greatest members of the Congress of the 21st century”.
He described her victorious campaign as a “historic inspiration.”
When it was her turn, Ms Ocasio-Cortez returned the favour, saying Mr Raskin was the kind of lawmaker she was hoping to find when she reached Washington – “voraciously intellectual” and “able to quote Jefferson at the drop of a dime”.
She went on to describe the United States as rooted in dualities – “the good and bad, America is the hope and despair”.
After her remarks, she joined a chorus in singing Woody Guthrie’s “This Land Is Your Land”, then elicited a few squeals from onlookers when she waved before slipping out a back door.
If somebody hates America, isn't it common sense and reasonable to tell a person to leave?
If somebody hates America, isn't it common sense and reasonable to tell a person to leave?
Why does Trump hate America?
If I went to McDonald's and said "I hate the gunk they put on Big Macs!", anyone hitting me with "If you hate McDonald's then leave it" would be illogical and an idiot. If somebody hates America, isn't it common sense and reasonable to tell a person to leave?
Think about it logically. If you are at the mall and someone says, "I hate the mall!," wouldn't you go, "Ok, then leave the mall!"
If someone is at McDonald's and they say, "I hate McDonald's!, wouldn't you go, "OK, then leave McDonald's."
You see?
Where'd you get the notion that any of the congresswomen hate America? If somebody hates America, isn't it common sense and reasonable to tell a person to leave?
Why does Trump hate America?
He doesn't. Another lie...

Why do you have two different standards?

Also, I hate malls but will on occasion enter a mall. There's enough complexity in life that that's not necessarily a contradiction or hypocrisy. If you're not stupid, you won't need me to explain, you should be able to figure it out.
The love it or leave it fallacy is a good measure of person's intelligence. Because reducing a wide range of options to two exclusive options, 'it's either this or that", is very stupid. So Trump demonstrated (yet again) how very stupid he is by using this fallacy. So have his followers for following his example.
You see?
Even if the other guy isn't her brother, she was still married (legally) to him when she filed jointly with Hirsi, whom she only married under Islamic law, not US law. That's tax fraud.
It's not that the Democrats don't want illegals deported. Rather, it's they don't want them deported because they had contact with the legal system. Deport when their sentence is done, fine, deport because they were the victim of a crime and the cops showed up, a big problem.
If that is going on, that should be where we start ICE reforms. Not making it more difficult to deport actual illegals. And how do you prove you're a citizen while you're sitting in a jail cell? ICE isn't interested in letting you prove it. Do you have any document that you could obtain with a phone call that would prove you are a citizen? (And don't say "passport"--some of the people had passports when they were arrested and it was "lost".)
