Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

Even if AOC lost, it won't matter much. And it will still be a big if.
I agree. If she gets re-elected, AOC ought to show off a golden retriever and talk about what a formidable challenge it was to defeat that yellow dog. Or else a glass of water with "D" written on it.
We do have a miserable Senate majority leader who has a 25% approval rating. He's very likely to eat it big in 2020, and become history. A political obstructionist and political suicide bomber. and that will indeed matter.
I wouldn't want to be very optimistic about that. But Democratic strategists plan to link Republican candidates to Mitch McConnell, doing what Republicans have long done.

The circus will be over soon anyway. Only 22% of AOC's district supports her. It's even worse for Ilhan Omar's district: 9% support her.

They can't even get support from their own districts! Pretty soon they'll be gone and their dumb ideas and policies will fade away.

Leftists are fuming now because a black republican Jamaican immigrant woman is challenging AOC in 2020! And we all know one thing leftists hate: black conservative women.

“There is a crisis in Queens, and it’s called AOC,” Murray told Fox News. “And instead of focusing on us, she’s focusing on being famous. Mainly rolling back progress and authoring the job-killing Green New Deal and killing the Amazon New York deal.”

I'm amazed AOC still has a high 22% support!

Those 22% are like chickens voting for Colonel Sanders!

Like I said, an Allan Keyes wannabee.

Guess who threw her name in the ring to oppose the bimbo in 2020?
Yeah, listening to her speak at the Press Conference confirms that this woman is anything but a "bimbo". I think the one issue she suffers from is Kathy Ireland disease, but only a mild case. But let's not let reality step in the way of misogyny.

"Guess who"? As if you knew this person existed before she said she was going to run.

Build bridges?Yes, because the issue right now is that Freshman Ocasio-Cortez is single-handedly responsible for the the GOP's inability to govern.

Kathy Ireland disease?

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Twitter: "In all the darkness, find the helpers.
This week, *~100,000* Puerto Ricans took to unprecedented demonstrations to hold their gov accountable.
They’re doing it in Hawaii, too. And in NYC, for Eric Garner.
It’s not about admins - it’s about people rediscovering their power: https://t.co/i9xYJdZ6kx" / Twitter

She has tweeted recently about the recent scandal about Puerto Rico's governor, Ricardo Rosselló. These are some of the leaked chat messages at the center of Puerto Rico's political crisis - CNN

Mario Rosales on Twitter: "Me gustó la frase de @AOC :" quiero decirle a los niños que no importa lo que diga el presidente, este país les pertenece". Los presidentes nos son Emperadores, ni reyes ni jeques." / Twitter
Translation (Google Translate fixed by me):
I liked @AOC's statement : "I want to tell the children that whatever the president says, this country belongs to them." Presidents are not Emperors, and neither kings nor sheikhs.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Twitter: "Reminder of what people are calling the “radical, extreme-left agenda”:
✅ Medicare for All
✅ A Living Wage & Labor Rights
✅ K-16 schooling, aka Public Colleges
✅ 100% Renewable Energy
✅ Fixing the pipes in Flint
✅ Not Hurting Immigrants
✅ Holding Wall Street Accountable" / Twitter

Her voice is a little high pitched. Kathy Ireland... oi... poor woman.

House Dems warn Omar in 'imminent danger' after Trump rally chants - POLITICO
Senior Democrats are now calling for authorities to evaluate security for Omar (D-Minn.), as well as the three other lawmakers who Trump called out by name at his Wednesday night rally in North Carolina — warning that Trump has escalated the risk of threats or even acts of violence toward the four minority freshmen.

...
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), one of the lawmakers Trump railed against Wednesday night and in tweets over the weekend, said she has concerns over her safety and is discussing with Democrats whether to ask for additional security.

“This president is evolving, as predicted, deeper into the rhetoric of racism which evolves into violence,” she said.
ABC News Politics on Twitter: "JUST IN: Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tells @SerenaMarsh Senate Majority Leader is "complicit in advancing racism in America" for not criticizing Trump. "When you tell American citizens to go back to their country ... that has everything to do with race" https://t.co/5YIpd4Iv6d https://t.co/TqK8I8hWwJ" / Twitter - nice little blurb, and she's confident that the Dems will win in 2020.

McConnell: Trump 'on to something' with attacks on four congresswomen - POLITICO
"We're in a big debate now and next year about what we want America to be like," McConnell said. "Do we really think socialism applies here at a time of great prosperity, 50-year-low unemployment? That's what the election I think is going to be about."

...
Ocasio-Cortez has accused McConnell of being "complicit in advancing racism in America" and charged that he "doesn't even have the backbone to speak out against" Trump's remarks.

...
"Look, I've got nothing to apologize on this front. We've got to tone the rhetoric down across the country," McConnell said. "Using, throwing around words like 'racism,' you know, kind of routinely applying it to almost everything. Let's talk about the issues. And the issues are ... where they want to take America. They want to take America into a socialist country."
Raw Story on Twitter: "McConnell stumped after reporter asks if it’s OK to tell his immigrant wife to ‘go back to your country’ https://t.co/GaZZqSI7Lq" / Twitter

I wouldn't bet on her losing. She's one of the most effective fund raisers in the House, without accepting corporate money. The 22% figure for her district support is bullshit. Her likely opponent made one good commercial, but I wouldn't expect too much. It's a solidly Dem district.

I find it incredible how the US pivoted from the worst economy in the nation's history in 2016 to having the 50-year-low unemployment.

The dangerous part is their endless retort of "socialism".

Rush Limbaugh Claims Ocasio-Cortez's Chief of Staff Is the 'Squad's' 'Sugar Daddy': 'They Are His Minions!… He Owns Them'
"He's a trust fund kid," Limbaugh said of Saikat Chakrabarti. "He's using his parents' money to fund her campaign and all of these operations. And he's the guy that's directing them."

"When you heard [Speaker Nancy] Pelosi say 'I don't talk to staff, I talk to —' it was him she was referring to because this guy's been tweeting massive disrespect about her in the attempt here to elevate the four whack jobs, as John Kennedy from Louisiana has described them," ...

"This gang of four," Limbaugh continued, "they got their money from AOC's sugar daddy, her chief of staff, Saikat Chakrabarti — Chakrabarti is his name — he owns them. One of his front groups is called A Brand New Congress. His plan is to replace everybody in Congress who's not an uber-radical with an uber-radical that includes — starts with Pelosi, getting rid of her."
Saikat Chakrabarti now has his own Wikipedia article.
Early life and education

Chakrabarti was born and raised in a Bengali family in Fort Worth, Texas.[4][5] He attended Harvard University, graduating in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in computer science.[6]

Career

Chakrabarti worked on Wall Street, followed by eight years in Silicon Valley at a number of start-ups and founding a web design tool called Mockingbird and then serving as a founding engineer at payments processing company Stripe.[7]
So he wasn't a trust-fund baby but the sort of person that right-wingers normally consider a great hero.

Official School Records Support Claims That Ilhan Omar Married Her Brother

https://pjmedia.com/davidsteinberg/...that-rep-ilhan-omar-d-mn-married-her-brother/

"According to official student enrollment records archived by St. Paul Public Schools and the state of Minnesota, an “Ahmed N. Elmi” was enrolled as a senior in the Class of 2003 at Arlington Senior High School in St. Paul, MN, from September 6, 2002, until June 10, 2003. He graduated and received a diploma.

The enrollment record states that “Ahmed N. Elmi” was born on April 4, 1985.

Both Ilhan Omar’s 2009 marriage documents and her 2017 divorce proceedings state that Ahmed Nur Said Elmi was born on April 4, 1985.

After an extensive background search, I have not been able to find any other person named “Ahmed Nur Said Elmi,” “Ahmed N. Elmi,” or even “Ahmed Elmi” with the birthdate April 4, 1985. The man Ilhan Omar married and the 17- to 18-year-old who attended Arlington Senior High School in St. Paul, MN, in 2002-2003 are one and the same."

I wouldn't bet on her losing. She's one of the most effective fund raisers in the House, without accepting corporate money. The 22% figure for her district support is bullshit. Her likely opponent made one good commercial, but I wouldn't expect too much. It's a solidly Dem district.

A primary challenge might be a better bet. I hope there is one and she is voted out.

But, she doesn't believe in climate change. She still flies in planes. Just like Al Gore had 8 SUV's and multiple mansions and private jets. "Concerned about climate change" indeed.

Well her chief of staff (and co-founder of far left so-called "Justice Democrats, not to mention Nazi sympathizer) admitted that GND is not really about climate change, but about fundamentally restructuring US economy. That's why major parts of it do not even have a tangential connection to climate change.

Btw:
Democrats should confront their revolutionaries before it’s too late

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Twitter: "Back to business.
Today I questioned Acting DHS Sec McAleenan on reports that Trump offered him a pardon if he violated US law to block asylum seekers, & whether those in the CBP group who threatened Members of Congress & shared rape images are still in charge of women+children. https://t.co/FzA4kp9xJR" / Twitter
noting
Molly Jong-Fast on Twitter: "Your daily reminder that @aoc is extremely good at this https://t.co/tKJifyb9CE" / Twitter noting
Alexander Nazaryan on Twitter: "Here is @aoc asking DHS chief Kevin McAleenan about secret Facebook group for Border Patrol agents that was rife with offensive posts.
She tries to get him to answer about whether any agents in that group remain on duty at the border. https://t.co/tNxOdrrtgb" / Twitter

Like threats of violence against her and other Congresspeople, and mocking dead migrants.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Twitter: "Having a seat in Congress is not about individual glory - it never has been, and never will be.
It’s about serving the millions of children and people in our communities and across the country.
Everyone deserves the dignity of representation. America belongs to us all. 🇺🇸 https://t.co/JcwDT2W5Yb" / Twitter

Then about a predicted heat wave in NYC, including in her district. Also Ilhan Omar's arrival at a Twin Cities airport.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Twitter: "At its core, abuses at the border are not about whether some CBP officers are good or bad people.
It’s about how our border policies are gravely dehumanizing, & strip all involved of human decency.
Once you order people to violate others’ rights, a culture can quickly devolve. https://t.co/Z6a18TWtvj" / Twitter
noting
NowThis on Twitter: "‘You don’t think that having 10,000 officers in a violent, racist group sharing rape memes of members of Congress points to any concern of a dehumanized culture?’ — @AOC pressed DHS Sec. Kevin McAleenan after he denied a dehumanized culture within Border Patrol https://t.co/MiuHgvCWJM" / Twitter
Like a Photoshopped picture showing AOC herself being violently raped.

Democrats call for increased security after 'send her back' chants | TheHill - with some video of AOC stating "I think the President put millions of people in danger last night."
Multiple Democrats are calling for more enhanced security for members of Congress, including Omar and her three closest allies who were also targeted by Trump earlier this week when he suggested they all “go back” to other countries

... “Leadership has adequate security. Members do not have adequate security. I want to thwart the efforts of those who might want to harm a member of this House,” Green continued.

"The Squad" interview: Gayle King's full conversation with AOC, Omar, Pressley & Tlaib - YouTube - nice interview with these four Representatives.

Ayanna Pressley stated that her district has a lot of immigrants, and a lot of people there are afraid of ICE raids. I recall AOC once stating that about her district also. AOC stated in that interview that she was elected to shake things up, that she does not want to be in the pay of lobbyists, dependent on what they want.

If they are afraid of ICE raids then they are not just 'immigrants', they are illegal immigrants. There is a difference. Why shouldn't illegals be deported?

ICE has a habit of trying to deport citizens. Being legal isn't enough to be safe from them.

Many people, especially the unemployed will find it very hard to forgive the bimbo for chasing away the Amazon development in NY. Can't you just see the ads her opponents will make to discredit her and her loony tunes ideology?

That wasn't in her district. She was a critic, along with many others, but was not directly involved.
