Anyone else guilty of online shipment stalking?

Ordered some yarn yesterday that's supposed to be here by tonight by 10 pm. In my experience, that means 1-2 days more at best. I think "get it by tomorrow" is a scam.

But still, I'm so excited to get this yarn that I've clicked the Track package button about 15 times since yesterday.

Then on the day it was scheduled for delivery I cracked, and flagged down the FedEx truck and asked the driver if he had my computer. I just ordered a new gaming laptop, and absolutely plan to stalk it. I do not trust mail delivery services to ring the bell when they arrive anymore; the thing could be sitting out there on the porch for hours if I don't know when its out for delivery.

I have about the opposite problem.

"YOUR PACKAGE WILL BE ARRIVING WEDNESDAY."

Um, okay. What is it?
It's almost never described in the email. Just a promised date. I have no idea what it even could be. Anything more than an hour after i ordered it, might as well have been my other personality.
Did i order something?
Did someone send me a gift?
Is this phishing?

There's just no telling!

I ordered a new DSLR several years back and we weren't home to receive it, so it was dropped off at a backup site (UPS/Fedex store). First and only time that happened. I rushed from my home to the place which isn't open on the weekends, they look in the back. Nope, don't see anything.

I tell them the email said it was delivered here. Can I take a look?

They are cool with it, and I find the package in about 5 seconds.

I got a package today and it contained exactly what I ordered, so all is well. BUT the photo of the alleged package at our alleged doorstep is of someone else's package and someone else's house!

Something like this I have routed to the FedEx store up at the strip mall. This way if it’s not there I can tell them to check with their neighbors.

Yarn sellers online should track how often their customers check the status of their order so they can hurry and get it sent because THAT LADY IN VA CLEARLY NEEDS HER SHIT RIGHT NOW.

That is two parcels ordered within the last two weeks and they are both here.

Presently stalking the drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic brake pads for the front brakes for my car. Sent from Illinois depot by Fedex yesterday. Hopefully by tomorrow.

It isn't quite as funny as the term "wait impatiently". In general, I'll track packages, but the package in the OP, I was checking that way too often especially before getting in the truck (the package, not me). If it was Facebook and my ex-girlfriend, there'd been reason for an intervention.
