Australian Federal Election 2016

And yet it wasn't the Libs that got us through the crisis that sank the Greeks and remind me, which Treasurer won an international award?

And yet it wasn't the Libs that got us through the crisis that sank the Greeks and remind me, which Treasurer won an international award?

So easily done when the Howard government left a sizeable piggy bank full of money that was squandered in record time by Kevin Crudd. Had it not been for China's hunger for Australian resources, even triple the amount squandered by Crudd wouldn't have been enough. $1000 cheques to backpackers did very little to help the economy. Not to mention the billions squandered on the roof insulation fiasco, new class rooms that we're never built, or built and remained empty. Shall I go on?

And they're off!

The polls are now open - remember to vote by 6pm.

Number EVERY box on the green paper. Remembering to put the Liberals last, if you want to save Medicare.

The senate ballot has changed.

YOUR VOTE WILL NOT BE COUNTED unless you number at least SIX boxes above the line (or at least twelve boxes below the line) on the large white paper.

One Nation supporters, just vote 1 for Pauline Hanson. Don't number any other boxes.

Remember, there's no need to waste your vote, if you feel the need to also make a more direct statement about the quality of the candidates.

As a teacher in schools - those classrooms etc WERE built thank you!

And yes, that $1000 bonus did boost the economy.

Are you seriously telling me that you would like to see people like Gina Reinhardt, who would spend $50K a day on her staff to cater to her every whim not pay a cent or dollar in tax, while someone like me, who earns $50K in a year, pay her way?

Are you seriously telling me you would like to pay for every blood test and xray you have now? Do you want to see a privatised medical system where breaking your leg can see your bankrupted like in America?

Are you seriously telling me you want to see a return to the feudal system where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer and end up working as slaves to the rich?

Are you seriously telling me that you want to see funding cut from schools so that class sizes are ridiculously high?

angelo - Australia survived the FGC due to Kevin Rudd's spending. TBH, the LNP have actually reduced the piggy bank more than the Labor ever did, all the while taxing us poor people more, and taking things away from the people who need it, and allowing the rich to get richer. That does not a successful economy make!

Under the LNP, my parents, both of whom are pensioners on a fixed income, will now have to pay for every blood test that they have up front, and as my parents need blood tests every fortnight due to diabetes and blood conditions, that is going to hit them.

My brother, who is currently having to have ct scans on a regular basis due to him still having blackouts, is also going to have to pay up front and he is already paying $70 per visit to the doctor.

The LNP don't care about us, only themselves...

Seems you've fallen for every word of Labor party propaganda. The roof will not cave in should the Liberal party still be in government come Sunday regardless what that union stooge Shorten has said!

Oh - so you don't have an argument to present to me as to why Labor shouldn't be in power? Didn't think so! My argument is based on having lived and experienced life under both governments and the impact they have had on myself personally. Can you provide a similar argument?

I had to giggle.

Some conservative (for Aus., you yanks would consider him a raving leftie) whose name I should remember but don't, on The Project, offered to get "Bill Shorten" tattooed across his forehead if Labor gets in.

That seemed like a good incentive to me and Waleed Ali went on to point out that 1.5M voters were still undecided. I've known people to decide their vote on less.

Suddenly, we're in with a chance because someone can't keep his mouth shut. :D

About an hour ago I glanced at the TV in the gaps of putting kids to bed and it was 60/60 with 1 Green and 4 Others.

Now? 73/66. Bitch, bum, poo. There may be a god, who is teasing me.

It's looking like the Liberals are going to retain government.

Not with a majority. They might form government, but they will need to make a lot of compromises with the independents.

Was hoping to win lotto, so I could buy my own island and tell the Liberals to piss off.

Only got 3 and a sup, but apparently I can move to Tasmania and achieve the same result on a budget.
