^^^ I see what you did there.
Yeah, it's a stupid charge. While I don't agree with the unlimited gun rights garbage the QOP is going for I think they took the easy route rather than the right route. What should be illegal is actually possessing (in hand or the like) a gun while impaired. Simply saying you can't have both makes it easier to charge (no need to prove the guy was impaired, and who cares about the rights of drug users) but isn't fair. (We've done the same thing with DUI--they made it easy to convict the guy who fell asleep at the wheel but the current law also convicts people who have "control" of the car but have no intent to drive. Say, sleeping it off in the parking lot of the bar.) (And I agree with the law allowing carrying a gun while in a bar--the designated driver. It's especially an issue in states that say no guns where alcohol is sold for consumption--which includes a lot of places that aren't alcohol businesses.)Hunter Biden will plead guilty to a gun charge and a misdemeanor tax charge. He will get probation.
The gun charge is a federal crime to punish drug users who also possess a gun. It is rarely charged because of all the marijuana users who would generate time-consuming paperwork for law enforcement and courts, but they had him dead to rights. I expect large numbers of Republicans who believe in gun rights to be outraged and immediately start agitating to have the charge dropped. Even if he's taking drugs, Hunter Biden should still have a right to own gun, shouldn't he? After all, we let drunks own guns and even carry them into bars in some places.
Justice for the elite, gotta love it.
Name three people who have gone to jail under the same circumstances as Hunter.Justice for the elite, gotta love it.

Not equivalent.
Close but no cigar.Johnson’s arrest was part of "Operation Crime Driver", a joint federal, state and local law enforcement anti-violence initiative led by the District Attorney General’s Office for the 25th Judicial District, and conducted between February and May 2019, where law enforcement targeted offenders wanted on arrest warrants for violent criminal offenses in Tipton County, Tennessee. Johnson was among 6 defendants from the first phase of "Operation Crime Driver" to be indicted in federal court in October, 2019 for various drug and gun offenses. https://www.justice.gov/usao-wdtn/pr/operation-crime-driver-targets-violent-criminals-tipton-county
Drug dealers. No evidence Hunter ever sold drugs. As a matter of fact, Hunter has never been arrested for drug possession.
So well done JH. One of your examples is similar to Hunter Biden. It's worth pointing out Isca Johnson looks slightly different to the other people you used as an example so it could reinforce Hunter was targeted because of some implicit bias. With Hunter it's obvious - he is Joe Biden's son so the Trump appointed prosecutor wanted to score points. I'm not sure what the bias was behind Johnson though.
Lying on a Federal Firearms Application is considered a major crime. Especially around here where people think that guns cause people to become criminals.
Drug users aren't allowed legally to own guns.
All three cases match.
Lying on the form is a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison. For being a user of unlawful drugs in possession of a firearm, the punishment is up to five years. The odds of being charged for lying on the form are virtually nonexistent. In the 2019 fiscal year, when Hunter Biden purchased his gun, federal prosecutors received 478 referrals for lying on Form 4473 — and filed just 298 cases. The numbers were roughly similar for fiscal 2020. At issue is when Biden answered “no” on the question that asks about unlawful drug use and addiction when purchasing a gun. Biden had been discharged five years earlier from the Navy Reserve for drug use and based on his 2021 memoir, he was actively using crack cocaine in the year he bought the gun. The data do not show how many people might have been prosecuted for falsely answering the question about active drug use. A 1990 Justice Department study noted how difficult it was to bring cases against people who falsely answer questions on the form, especially because there is no paper trail for drug abusers like there is for felons.
I think Jason and the alt-right are mistaken here in judging what matters. It isn't that he is the President's son. It is he has access to very good lawyers. Like Trump (or OJ Simpson). Access to great lawyers is what helps people take charges that could lead to jail and become more about plea deals.Name three people who have gone to jail under the same circumstances as Hunter.Justice for the elite, gotta love it.

If Jason wants to be angry at anything, it'd be the upper crust establishment that is able to use their access to lawyers to get away with a boatload of stuff.
the profile picture is not down by the balloon, It's up on the top left-hand corner, and the photo on this 2017 WhatsApp message is from 2022 from the south lawn of the White House. Bold and not bold text in the same message. They didn't even try.
They're barely even trying now.

The transcript included a message Hunter sent to a business associate alluding to “sitting with his father,” seemingly suggesting that his father was aware of his business dealings. Shapley acknowledged the investigation didn’t turn up evidence to prove that, instead finding that it was likely untrue.
"Reporting" seems like a strong word in this context.I doubt that image from an any official report, it's just a graphic someone reporting on the story made.
