At least six suspects - male and female - barged into the store, body slammed a security guard and made off with the goods, a sheriff's spokesperson said. No one was injured.

People are being killed in the famously progressive county at a faster pace than 2021, as homicides hit a 15-year high.

So far this year, LA has seen 183 slayings.

Assaults are also up nearly five percent from 2021, with police so far recording 10,099 incidents.

Robberies, meanwhile, are at 4,740, up by more than 20 percent from last year.

Gascon's ideology is that the perpetrator of a violent crime is as much, if not more of a victim than the actual victim of a violent crime.
