Brexit has happened

If Scotland wants to leave the UK she has every right to take it to a referendum, like the 2014 one.
Unless Parliament agrees to abide by the results, it is not legally clear if that would be sufficient to achieve Scottish independence.

The legalities I don't know about. If Scotland votes for it, the UK has a moral duty to respect it.

Like when the UK people voted to leave the EU.

The agreement that allowed for Scotland to vote for independence in 2014 was a one time thing. For it to happen again would require a similar agreement to occur. Whether Boris Johnson has the political capital to say no to Scotland, whilst securing Brexit, whilst adhering to the Good Friday Treaty for Northern Ireland is the big question. It looks like it's a risky roll of the dice, but we'll see.

Of course it hasn't happened, because everything that was in place will still be in place for at least another 11 months. Wait until the Brits find out they're getting lousy terms in trade agreements.

And it was pretty hilarious to see pro-Brexiteers celebrating the event by drinking beverages brewed in Europe.
And even then, the ramifications will take time. Like what? Do some people expect food to dissolve into black sludge at the stroke of midnight on their expiration date?

Presumably the European firms that have been doing business with Britain are hoping to continue doing business?
Depending upon how it is determined the UK is the 2nd or 3rd largest economy in Europe.

The Europeans will still wish to trade with such a large entity just 22 miles off their coast. The Europeans can be stupid but they are not that stupid.

Apparently an awful lot of Remoaners thought that that and other such things would happen on the clock strike.

When Scotland separates from Britain, will the UK become just the K, and labeled on maps as "Lesser Britain"?

I talked to a British friend the other day and his reason for voting for Brexit was, "We don't want a German woman telling us what to do." I said, "Don't you have to pay extra for that sort of thing?"

He didn't think it was at all funny.

Its about are funny as the Yanks playing the World series with themselves.

And after raising hundreds of thousands of pounds, Big Ben did not chime. An appropriate metaphor for the whole Brexit debacle if ever there was one.

Or as funny as those who supported the Australian Republican movement, but had no idea what that would mean or entail. Or cost.

The problem with that sign is we cant tell if it is an extremist Brexiter or a projecting Remainer. After all, it has never happened that someone posted an opinion that they think represents "the other side" *cough* underseer *cough*

True, we cannot tell, because there is nothing in that statement of grotesque hateful xenophobia that distinguishes a parody of Bexiter from the actual sentiments of most Bexiters. Just like it impossible to tell the difference between the most extreme parodies of white supremacy, pro-rape misogyny, and anti-science raving stupidity from actual tweets by Trump or most of his supporters.

If you inclined to think the "other side" is as full of hate as you described, you will conclude that projection parody is indistinguishable from the real thing.

Congratulations on your continuing success in justifying your biases.

The chain of illogical unreasoning is impeccable:

It's not impossible that this notice was placed by someone who is trying to make brexiters look like worse racist cunts than they are; Therefore it's reasonable to assume that this might be a plant by remain supporters; therefore both sides are equally bad; therefore everything is fine, and there's no problem.

Fuck. That. Shit.

You don't get to handwave away something awful on the grounds that it could be (despite exactly zero evidence that it is) misinformation.

Reality is real. It's not subject to your guesses, biases, or opinions; Evidence can be dismissed ONLY by appeal to counter evidence.

Just so stories that glibly dismiss what is right in front of your eyes are NOT counter evidence; They are the central problem of the information age, and are massively damaging to our society.

If you have any evidence that this notice was placed by remainers, present it, or shut the fuck up.

Your hunches, biases, and conspiracy theories are not evidence. So what else have you got?

therefore both sides are equally bad;

That's where you make an illogical leap to justify your biases.

Fuck. That. Shit.

You don't get to handwave away your own hatred of "the other side" on the grounds that you want it to be (despite exactly zero evidence that it is) genuine.

Odd, because reality has taught us inclusion is the best method to prevent the madness of the 20th century from returning. It worked too!

Went 80 years without a WWIII, and it wasn’t like mankind didn’t want to have a go at it.

But instead, nationalistic stupidity is growing because inclusion and compromise worked too darn well at maintaining a decent peace and prosperity.

The irony meter repair industry is going to post record quarterly profits after that one.

You cannot find the post where I am supposed to have said that sides are, as bilby put it, equally bad. I can find the post where you offered an original defense of Hitler.

That had nothing to do with my comment.

That had nothing to do with my comment either.

Instead of focusing on babble and “no u r”, why not look for the counter evidence (which excludes opinions, delusions and derails) that bilby mentioned?
