In more positive news, a medical helicopter crashed on a busy freeway up in Sac town. I mean, bad situation obviously, but a bunch of heroes stepped up. One of the crew was trapped underneath. Within minutes a crowd of bystanders had gathered as well as fast acting first responders, and together they all managed to lift the whole copter off the ground to free the trapped woman. Kudos also to the pilot for somehow crashing the copter in such a way as to not kill anyone as they plummeted from the hospital roof with little control.

I think that you are too harsh regarding Newsome. He's growing on my. Again, to me, he is a fighter. He has courage. How many others are fighting against Trump? How many have the courage? For example: he came out in favor of gay marriage years before many others. 10 years before Obama and Clinton. And it greatly hurt his career at the time. Damn sure that there were no corporate overlords advising him to allow gay marriage at that time! How many others are speaking out against ICE raiding Home Depot, tariffs, threats to cut approved federal funding, and etc?

Newsom is increasingly entertaining IMO, and in this day of leadership by jackass he’s doing great. Swiz is pissed because he is aping Trump so effectively.

County executives manage the county budget, ensure the funding and functionality of county services, and advocate on county issues at the regional level. Not all counties have a defined executive role, but it isn't rare either. 700 of the US' 3144 counties have an executive officer of some kind, including Oakland, Wayne, and Macomb Counties in your state. Urban macro-regions are more prone to creating such a role. My general assumption anywhere in the country is that county governments in general are havens of corruption and grift, but I don't know much about the specifics of the LA situation, aside from not particularly trusting the British tabloids as a source of information thereupon, but agreeing that 2 million dollars sounds like one hell of a golden parachute. Was that included in the "cost estimate" required of all California ballot propositions?
