California Doing California Things

“Newsom’s early release programs have let out thousands of violent offenders…”

Well hell yeah, over time. Not every violent offender gets life.
Your boy Trump released thousands of violent offenders in ONE DAY!
I see another one of them just re-arrested for child rape.
What an insufferable prick, eh?

You do seem to have an abundance of insufferable persons in the USA.

This will be why Newsom is spending $90m dollars on his campaign to try to make him look less useless.

Despite a dip in job approval ratings, President Trump is still beating out former Vice President Kamala Harris (D) and California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) in an overall popularity contest. In new NBC News survey results released Monday, 41 percent of respondents expressed favorable views of the president. Only 34 percent of those polled responded favorably to Harris, compared with 27 percent for Newsom. The two politicians are frequently touted as potential Democratic candidates for the 2028 presidential race, but neither has committed to a run.

At least he HAS a campaign. 90m is chump change for an actual campaign.
Your boy’s Crispy Gnome spent $220,000,000.00 on vanity, paid for by me and you, to promote … what? Her hair?? Her fucking hat? $220,000,000.00 taxpayer dollars - not on any campaign, just on HERSELF! Not a peep from the IIDB token authoritarian immigrant.
Will the REAL insufferable prick, please stand up!

That poll seems to indicate the US doesn't like anybody. Other than the pope apparently, of which, only half of people had an opinion that wasn't neutral or don't know.

Another company exits CA

After nearly 50 years in Orange County, Yamaha Motor Corp. USA is packing up its headquarters — trading Cypress, California for Kennesaw, Georgia in a sweeping corporate shift that will impact about 250 workers. Company spokesman Bob Starr said consolidating operations in Georgia simply makes business sense. “In terms of efficiency, to have us all together in Georgia — all the functions of the business — it makes a lot of sense,” Starr said. The departure marks another corporate blow for Cypress. Back in 2019, Mitsubishi Motors North America ditched its longtime HQ in the city after 31 years, moving roughly 200 jobs to Franklin, Tennessee to cut costs.

Me too. I only hope there is an election and Trump voters haven’t already fucked us out of representative government altogether.

Gavin Newsom’s wife is in on the grift

Jennifer Siebel Newsom stole the spotlight at her husband's Planned Parenthood press conference last month when she scolded reporters for not asking enough about the 'war on women'. But now, financial filings obtained by the Daily Mail suggest the First Partner of California may have to answer some tough questions of her own. IRS documents from recent years show Gavin Newsom's wife has been paying herself and her company, Girls Club LLC, up to a third of her nonprofit's entire income each year – pocketing over $3.7 million from 2012 to 2023, the nonprofit’s most recent figures. Siebel Newsom, 51, runs the Representation Project, a charity that fights against 'intersectional gender stereotypes' and 'harmful gender norms'. The organization brings in between $1 million and $1.7 million a year in grants and donations, with roughly $300,000 of it going straight to her and her company in recent years, according to financial records. Her unusually high compensation to her and her company has recently sparked criticism from charity watchdogs - with a Daily Mail analysis showing Siebel Newsom and her nonprofit colleagues earn more than 95% of charities of a similar size.

CBS News examined the business and financial records of every hospice currently operating in LA County, applying the same indicators identified by the state. Indications of fraud have not stopped. In fact, they’ve grown. The CBS News analysis reveals that over 700 of the roughly 1,800 hospices in LA County, trigger multiple red flags for fraud as defined by the state. Nationwide, the average amount a hospice bills Medicare per patient is $13,200. CBS News found the typical hospice in LA County billed Medicare roughly $29,000 per patient – more than double the national average. The highest rate billed by a single hospice in the county was $74,000 per patient. Of the LA County hospices with available Medicare data, nearly all of them submitted bills above the national average. CBS News spotted seven instances in which hospices that reported an average of zero patients in 2024 still submitted bills to Medicare.

When Dr Oz first brought this to light, Newsom's response was to scream about racism.

Amazing how TSwizzle can (?) read (?) that article and what he takes from it is that LA County costs more than average in the US. No wonder climate change boggles his poor mind.

The fraud isn't the cost! The fraud consists of potential ghost agencies, fake patients, and a disturbing amount of overlap with some of the alleged agencies. There appear to be facilities that don't exist or barely exist.

The state of California should be a bit more stringent on licenses but Hospice coverage is regulated by the Feds.

Sacramento County law enforcement is again criticizing the elderly parole process after the Board of Parole Hearings granted parole for a convicted child molester after serving 27 years of his over 355-year sentence. Gregory Vogelsang, 57, was sentenced to prison for almost 30 counts of kidnapping and sex crimes against multiple children between the ages of 5 and 11 in the 1990s, according to Sacramento County District Attorney Thien Ho. He was sentenced to 355 years to life in prison.

It’s cute to think of Swiz being upset that a couple hundred schlubs from the working class are leaving, and will no longer be passing out on his doorstep.

And Swiz’s kneejerk response is to scream about Newsom.
It’s forgiveable that he “forgets” that housing in Los Angeles is about 130–133% higher than the national average, and hospice care includes housing costs.

I also wonder if hospice patients might possibly rack up much higher costs if they live much longer due to more effective hospice care. That would be a problem Swiz’s choice -Trump - could certainly address, adept as he is at dealing out death.

It’s also a remote possibility that hospice care itself, along with housing costs for hospice care providers, costs more to provide in LA than in podunk Nevada.
LA Cty’s cost of living is more than 50% higher than the national average, but Swiz doesn’t think living costs should extend to the dying.

Swiz should campaign for shittier hospice care in LA, and euthanasia for those he deems no longer of use to anybody. That should save him a precious $2-3 a year if he pays average taxes.

Insufferable prick Newsom is "still processing" the allegations against Cesar Chavez

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) on Wednesday said he was still “processing” sexual misconduct allegations against the legendary farm worker activist César Chávez, who died in 1993. Multiple women told The New York Times that Chávez slept with them while they were underage, which led to long-term emotional distress. The revelations have led to a reckoning over the legacy of Chávez. “I think all of us are processing it. And, you know, and just these kids have to process it now. I mean, I think there’s … three dozen schools in the state are named after César Chávez. I don’t know [how many are in the] community, in the country,” Newsom said during an unrelated press conference in the Bay Area. “I traveled to 14 states the last few weeks.

Sen. Alex Padilla (D-Calif.) on Wednesday vowed to “rework” a bill he introduced last year proposing the creation of a national park dedicated to Chávez. :ROFLMAO:

Newsom, anywhere but California but we are all better off with him out of the state.

I've long said on this forum that naming streets, schools, etc after famous people is one of the dumbest ideas around, for just this very reason. There are a lot of CC schools, streets, etc around my area that are going to be costly to rename. MLK, Jr is next. Supposedly, there is a slew of audiotapes, etc that are slated to be released next year that aren't going to be favorable, to say the least. And there is even more MLK naming than CC naming around here.
