I like that... and the form too, so:

A dog who lived outside the law
Had got himself stuck with a claw
The pain did so linger
That he chewed on a finger
Which someone had stuck in his maw

The poor pup in question is Gizmo, one of our Tibbies and the claw belonged to Tiger, who, it appears, was aptly named. He has given both cats a pretty wide berth since!
