New Jersey’s governor, Chris Christie, said on Saturday he would combat illegal immigration by tracking foreign visitors like FedEx packages.

Christie, who is well back in the pack seeking the Republican nomination for president, told a campaign event in the early-voting state of New Hampshire that, if elected president, he would ask FedEx’s chief executive officer, Fred Smith, to devise the tracking system.

Jesus, just the kind of country I want to live in.

Sounds like a good job creator program for our struggling tatoo artists. Granted, tatooing bar codes all day long on people's forehead could get a bit tedious after a while.

And the people/equipment need to scan them every time they change locations!

Juan Illego:
Arrive 7/11 2:32
Depart 7/11 2:36
Arrive hotel room 2:45

Fed ex has a system for tracking, and so they have experience in tracking, but we wouldn't track people like we track packages no more than we would dogs. We would have a system set up like they have for tracking people, examples coming to mind ... People on parole or sex offenders registry, where they check or call in or otherwise notify authorities.

If he chose Fed ex because he relates people to packages, then shame on him, but if he chose fed ex because of their experience with tracking, then shame on him again, because he should of known that the least favorable viewpoint will be solidifying others perceptions of him.

Great idea, but it needs to be tamper proof. Why not chip the person, just like my cat!

And until the chip production ramps up, we could make them wear armbands! While we get the tracking infrastructure going, we could move all the illegals into their own little towns where they could all be together!

Just to be safe, we should move them to towns close to a railroad line. You know, in case we need to move a lot of them quickly.

I don't know, I'm starting to rethink this whole thing. Won't expensive upgrades to the conveyor belts at the Fed Ex hubs be required to accomodate the increased weight and traffic? And what about all the food needed for them while in transit? Some of those trips could be long. I guess they could put burrito and Jarrito dispensers by the conveyor belts as the illegals zip by. Gotta be fast with those hands though! No stopping the conveyor for you fumble fingers out there!

I was thinking of ankle GPS units. Whenever their visa expires they can be pinged by HL Security. Once they are identified as illegal, there is no need to move them to a town (unless it is Malibu or most of Vermont). Load them up on military transports, fly them over their country of origin, and shove'em out the door with "Return to Sender" stamped on their foreheads.

Although a border camp setup to load em on box cars has a nice ring to it.

And you are concerned about the well-being of people and human rights?

I am concerned about the well-being of the American people, not the well being of illegals from Upper Volta.

What he's saying is he'll do nothing.

Between the ICE, the state border patrols, the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI, the CIA, TECS, and dozens of other local, state, and federal agencies, there exists a huge database of information on who comes in and who leaves the country. For example, sex offenders are entered into these systems, particularly child pornographers. When they leave the country and then come back in, they are routinely searched and their property, especially computers and cell phones, which are subjected to comprehensive forensic examinations. It happens all the time.

The only thing Christie could do to make anything different would be to install tracking devices in people. The specter of that would be frightening if Christie weren't such a buffoon with no chance of winning.

And now start Mark Of The Beast jokes

That would involve making a lot more tracking bracelets or perhaps anklets. This is a TRANSFERABLE TECHNOLOGY... So anybody this Christie blubber belly doesn't like, they too can be tracked just like the aliens...then we will have perfected totalitarianism. This guy is a jackass. You will note in his campaign a complete absence of social programs.

Yeah, because it works so well when FedEx does it.:laughing-smiley-014

According to Christie, he could not track his subordinates moves to snarl traffic in a political "enemies" city, so I seriously doubt he could accomplish this task.

Until the RFID chip manufacturer is up and running, he'll need a stop-gap. Obviously you need a tracking number, but wristbands can be removed pretty easily. Perhaps Christie can implement tattooed numbers?

While I wonder if Christie has thought this through, there is really nothing morally objectionable to make foreign nationals wear non-removable anklets and/or consent to subdural chipping. Applied Digital Systems has already applied for FDA testing on humans, and 50 folks have signed up to be Veri-Chipped. It won't be long before you can chip children, their microchips only being the size of a grain of rice.

All their passport and visa information (including expiration date) could be scanned by police officials; gps could be activated; etc. Those without the chip or proof of citizenship could not be employed. You might be able to hook it up to a cell network, to upload arrest warrants onto the chip so that if the person is scanned by a police officer, an arrest could be made on the spot.

A good idea that could be combined with transit detention centers, work brigades for chronic offenders, and transport over the wall after time is served.

What could possibly go wrong?

Not to mention all the new jobs it would create in the public sector---big government FTW!
