Climate Change(d)?

And Tswizzle still hasn't explained exactly how the amount of natural carbon dioxide is enough to account for warming when we know far more has been added to the atmosphere by human made things. It's 100% wishful thinking to suggest human caused warming isn't happening. It's physically impossible it isn't happening.
I did let go of a rock, but as long as I don't look to see what happened next, and as long as I deride the barmy so-called "scientists" with their ivory-tower talk about "gravity" and "general relativity", I have no reason at all to think that the fallists are to be believed, with their theory that it will be heading towards my foot, or that when it gets there (at some point in the distant future) it will be "painful".

Rocks move all the time, in all directions. Are you really suggesting that rocks can't move without "man made dropping"? That's absurd.

We know that rocks fell long before humans even existed. A big rock fell sixty five million years ago, and not one single human foot was harmed by it.

Gravity is just a theory, and until I see evidence that my foot is in danger, it's just wishful thinking on your part. You just want me to kow-tow to big government and the tree-huggers who want to force me to move my personal private foot.

This obsession with gravitation has to stop. The rock is a balmy sixty five inches above my foot, in Santa Monica.

This obsession with CO2 needs to stop.

It's a balmy 75 degrees in Santa Monica today.
That is about all you can say given the responses? Weak at best. Embarrassing yourself.

And what are the major factors that influence that temperature?

One is naturally occurring CO2 in the atmosphere, IOW the greenhouse effect.

Do you underhand that the atmosphere acts like a natural greenhouse?

You asked why the focus on CO2, do you undertone its importance now?

Well COP30 ended just like all the previous COP meetings.

Genevieve Guenther is the founding director of End Climate Silence said:
The 30th conference of the parties (Cop30), the annual climate summit of all nations party to the UNFCCC, just ended. Stakeholders are out in the media trying spin the outcome as a win. Simon Stiell, climate change executive secretary for the UN is, for instance, praising Cop30 for showing that “climate cooperation is alive and kicking, keeping humanity in the fight for a liveable planet”. But let us be clear. The conference was a failure.

The very week of Cop30, Iran’s president, Masoud Pezeshkian, announced that Tehran, Iran’s capital city of 16 million, would need to be abandoned and re-established elsewhere, because, after years of climate-fuelled drought, its water has finally run out.

Teh Gruaniad

What absolute nonsense this woman spouts.

Based on actual measurements that areas in the mid east are becoming uninhabitable.

Phoenix is already having problems with higher temperatures.

Those are facts you conveniently ignore.

Again, why are the temperatures in Santa Monica ere what they are?

Why are ocean levels rising? Listened to a report from Normandy France on coastal erosion. A serious growing problem as it is is glacially.

The Port of Los Angeles faces sea level rise risks that could lead to temporary operational impacts, potential flooding of certain infrastructure like pump stations and liquid build facilities, and long-term threats to business operations and international cargo. To address these issues, the port is implementing strategies such as updating policies, developing capital improvement projects, and conducting studies to enhance resilience, particularly in its older, lower-lying areas.

The Tehran prediction fits with other reporting from the region over the last few years.

Tehran is significantly impacted by global warming through rising temperatures, increased air pollution, and water scarcity. Projections estimate average temperatures could rise by 2.6C by 2050, leading to more frequent heat waves and potentially causing increased heat-related deaths. These rising temperatures worsen the existing severe air pollution issues, as a lack of wind and a stable atmosphere trap smog and pollutants, and contribute to severe drought conditions affecting water supplies. Temperature and heat Average temperatures in Tehran and across Iran have been rising, with some studies indicating an increase of 0.16C per year.Global warming is expected to increase the frequency of heat waves, putting strain on public health and infrastructure. The city's "urban heat island" effect, where the city is hotter than surrounding areas, is being exacerbated by both urbanization and climate change.

Iran is among the most vulnerable countries to climate change in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Iran contributes to about 1.8% of global greenhouse gas emissions (GHG), and is ranked 8th in greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) world wide and is ranked first in the MENA region due to its reliance on oil and natural gas. Climate change has led to reduced precipitation as well as increased temperatures, with Iran holding the hottest temperature recorded in Asia.[2]

The country is facing water shortages with around 35% of Iranians experiencing water scarcity. These issues are exacerbated by rapid urbanization which has led to worsened air quality and heat islands.[3] Iran is one of only three countries not to ratify the Paris Agreement.[4][note 1]

Iran's regional climates vary from the hot, arid deserts in the south and east to cooler, milder conditions along the Caspian Sea in the north, and temperate climates in the western-south Zagros Basin and southern coastal areas. This diversity contributes to a range of natural hazards, including floods, landslides, and droughts.[6]
Delhi's pollution creates a visual fog, or smog, that significantly reduces visibility, obscures landmarks like India Gate, and has a hazy, grayish appearance. This condition is caused by a combination of pollutants from vehicle emissions, industrial activity, and biomass burning, trapped by stagnant, calm air masses during the winter. The result is not just visual obstruction but also a health emergency, as the tiny water droplets in the fog carry harmful particles that can be inhaled, according to The Seattle Times and The Sight Avenue Eye Hospital.

Delhi is facing a severe air quality crisis that is making parts of it effectively uninhabitable, especially for vulnerable populations. The city has been dubbed the world's most polluted due to dangerously high levels of PM2.5 pollution from vehicle and industrial emissions, construction dust, and agricultural fires in neighboring regions. The toxic smog is causing widespread respiratory issues and has led to a "severe" or "hazardous" public health emergency, with some residents fleeing the city entirely

They can all just move to Santa Monica.

Tehran’s predicament is down to bad water management practices and has nothing to do with climate change.

This is exactly the kind of male bovine excrement that I am talking about that tells me I am dealing with an end of times cult.

The miracle molecule CO2 can unleash all manner of catastrophe.
High school stuff.

Go outside and look at a tree or grass. As you inhale imagine oxygen from fro the plant going into your longs. As you exhale imagine the CO2 from you going into plants being tuned into oxygen.. One of the cycles of life. Or do you think oxygen is just there all by itself?

Waring oceans threaten plankton. Plankton is at the bottom of the ocean food chain. Our food fish like tuna and salmon are at the top, get the picture?

Phytoplankton, a type of plankton, produce an estimated 50% to 80% of the Earth's oxygen. These microscopic, plant-like organisms perform photosynthesis, converting sunlight and carbon dioxide into organic matter and releasing oxygen as a byproduct.

Phytoplankton produce an estimated 50-80% of the Earth's oxygen, a process threatened by global warming. Climate change causes ocean warming and acidification, which disrupts phytoplankton growth and can lead to a decrease in oxygen production and carbon absorption, potentially impacting marine ecosystems and the global climate. Studies show warming waters can directly harm phytoplankton by increasing UV exposure and starving them of nutrients.

Why is the Santa Monica temperature range is what is? Could it be the greenhouse effect of the atmosphe in part? Does tHe rotain of te Earth affect local weater and clmate? Hint Coriolis effect.

I could bring up the inverse enthropic diffusion theory to explain it. Is that nonsense and how would you know?

Even Mr. Swizz isn't as stupid as he seems. He has at least a glimmering awareness that anthropogenic climate change is real but somehow enjoys portraying a moronic Trumpist on this message board.

I think many of us role-play on a message board. I, for example, appear to be a sarcastic asshole here, but in real life I'm a sarcastic but friendly buffoon.

The more I think about it the more I believe us humans are headed for a serious reality check by 'nature'.

I listened to a report on EU regulations on cacao bean imports attempting to reduce mass deforestation for growing the beans. I think they are pissing in the wind. The scope and inertia of economics is too big.

It is a perfect storm. Growing global political chaos and climate change. Food suppl;y chains are not robust and do not olan for the worse.

Sure but if I argue for a position I don't hold I either am obviously satirizing it or playing devil's advocate. I don't pretend I actually hold the position, that'd be weird.

"Stupid as he seems" is uncalled for. There seems to be a very nasty streak among some members here, that is getting worse.

Such as with the guy who immediately suggested the person who shot the national guardsmen may be trans, despite there being no actual overall trend of trans shooters?

Wishful thinking? Seriously? Nobody is wishing for this,
In a perverse way, yes I believe it is wishful thinking. It’s why I say it is a rapture like cult. You are part of that cult. You regularly post nonsense on here about how the climate is collapsing. It seems to me you want the rapture.

It really is a religious belief for you.

but those in denial are wishing it's not true.

It’s a catastrophic 70 degrees today. In the SFV where I live.

I'm talking about how members here treat one another, here.
