I was thinking some economic rescue package like in late 08. Only it will happen in early 27. Then the economy rebounds and Trump takes credit for it.

Last time, it cost the US billions to rescue US farmers because Trump fucked up agricultural trade. Now he is just doing it across the board. It failed with "targeted" tariffs in his first term. And he apparently doesn't realize that export taxes are a thing too. If Canada and Mexico really wanted to, they could turn up the hurt on produce, meat, and dairy.

It doesn't help America that businesses are saying they plan on spending quadrillions in cash in American development... over the next four years... because it enables him to sell the "it is working angle", when the amount of money being proposed is laughably unrealistic.

Depends on how successful they are. If the economy soars, then yes. If it falters, they will not be able to hide it. But yes, the Dems are naive and have extremely poor messaging.

That is the concern. If he simply ignores the court it would create a serious constitutional crisis. There are however things that can be done to combat such. Trump requires ordinary citizens to carry out his orders for one. They could resist. People in liberal cities like DC and Northern Virginia could take to the streets and effectively shut the government down.

I would hope that Congress would finally stand up to the fucktard. They could refuse to pass a budget. But I suppose with the republicans change for now that’s unlikely.

The one silver lining is that the courts are not fast. Getting a full decision on the merits, as opposed to temporary restraining orders, typically takes a year at least. Then appeal to the circuit court could take at least another year and then finally you’re at the Supreme Court. And they too take quite a while. By the time the cases wind up in front of them it could be 2027 and the democrats could be in control of the house and senate. And then they could force Trump’s hand. If he didn’t have the money to pay people they wouldn’t be able to do anything.

That’s assuming he doesn’t do away with the Democratic Party before then or otherwise nullify the election. If that happens our only option is take to the streets and man the barricades.
