From CNN. More messy Faux Noise lawsuits.

....
New YorkCNN —
A Fox News producer on Monday filed a pair of explosive lawsuits against the right-wing talk channel, alleging that the network’s lawyers coerced her into providing misleading testimony in Dominion Voting Systems’ $1.6 billion defamation case against the company.

The lawsuits filed by Abby Grossberg, who worked as a senior booking producer for Maria Bartiromo and most recently head of booking for Tucker Carlson, accused Fox’s legal team of having engaged in wrongful conduct as it prepared her for a pre-trial deposition in the election technology company’s case.
.....

Grossberg refuses to be the scapegoat for Faux lies about Dominion.

Abby Grossberg, at the request of Faux attorneys was coached to lie. But the Dominion lawsuits did not, as per plan, go away. That means Abby Golberg can be prosecuted for perjury and conspiracy. If she had some decent lawyers, it is obvious she was told she had few choices to avoid a lot of very unpleasant legal problems in the future.

What legal issues will be problematic for Faux Noise remains to be seen. Possible disbarrment for these lawyers might eventually happen. And testimony of who at Faux OK'd this perjury, or knew about it will be interesting to find out, might be serious for some Faux managment persons.

You just know lawyers at Dominion and Smartmatic are popping big bottles of champagne over this grand news story.

At least someone at Fox has some balls.
I don't think this post will age well as I suspect Grossberg won't be working for FOX for much longer. FOX "news" no likey when their workers show spine.

Yeah. I don't think this is balls, I think this is a prosecutor who caught her out and is letting her go in exchange for going after her co-conspirators.

So Fox lost their Motion for Summary Judgment today. That’s a big deal. The Judge categorically rejected any claims about Dominion votes being fraudulent were true. Not that I expected anything else.

The problem with any settlement is that the damage to their reputation is done. Despite victory, Republicans are going to punish the company. It will likely never get a contract in any red state. Or borderline state either. Dominion can’t sue every schmuck who makes these dumbfuck claims. The damages are lik total. Plus punitive damages adding significant more.

This will prevent a settlement. Dominion will need things that Fox can never do, like an on air apology. Fox needs a confidential settlement, and Dominion won’t accept that.

Yeah, the damage to their reputation pretty much means the damages are the total future value of the business. Faux is going to have to write a very big check.

The Dominion vs Fox case goes to court in mid April. It will be a jury trial.

....
Dominion Voting Systems’ historic defamation case against Fox News will proceed to a high-stakes jury trial in mid-April, a Delaware judge ruled Friday, in a major decision that dismantled several of the right-wing network’s key defenses.

The judge’s decision is a painful setback for Fox News and sets the stage for an agonizing, weekslong trial, where the network’s highest-ranking executives and most prominent hosts could be called to the stand to testify about the 2020 election lies that were promoted on its air.
.....

Here is the Judge's full ruling.

Memorable quotes include;

Fox failed to meet its burden. The evidence developed in this civil proceeding demonstrates that is CRYSTAL clear that none of the Statements relating to Dominion about the 2020 election are true.

The statements at issue were dramatically different than the truth

Second Circuit held that defendant’s failure to reveal facts and plaintiff’s side of the story was not disinterested reporting,518 FNN’s failure to reveal extensive contradicting evidence from the public sphere and Dominion itself indicates its reporting was not disinterested.

I'm really surprised FOX didn't try to settle.

They probably did. Dominion has no reason whatsoever to settle. FOX is fucked. Maybe if they offer Dominion $1.6b plus legal costs… but I think Dominion going to want to make a lot of noise, drag them through the mud and REALLY fuck them up.

More pain forTrump possible?

.......
More suits could be on their way, with Dominion's CEO telling CNBC in February that the company was "not ruling anyone out" after sending cease-and-desist notices and warnings to preserve documents to more than 150 people.
Asked directly if Dominion would sue Trump, Shackelford, an attorney at Susman Godfrey LLP, told Insider's Jacob Shamsian Tuesday that the company has not ruled it out.

"We are still exploring options as to how to hold other participants in the campaign of lies against Dominion to account," Shackelford said.

From Raw Story

....
Delaware Superior Court Judge Eric M. Davis ruled Wednesday that Dominion Voting Systems can force News Corp CEO Rupert Murdoch and his son Lachlan to testify in the trial scheduled this month.

The judge ruled that they must appear live and in-person. The other person that can be compelled to testify is Paul Ryan, the former Speaker of the House who joined the Fox Corporation Board of Directors in March 2019.
......

Ryan warned the Murdochs not to push the stolen election BS. They did anyway. This trial starts April 17, 2023

A shareholder is now suing the Murdochs some members of the Fox News board of directors.

NBCNews said:
“The Board’s decision to chase viewers by promoting the false stolen election claims has exposed the Company to public ridicule and negatively impacted the credibility of Fox News as a media organization that is supposed to accurately report newsworthy events. The Company is now the subject of two defamation cases, with combined damages claimed to exceed $4 billion,” the lawsuit alleges.

Let's see how many more join in.

And just when you think the Faux Noise vs Dominion case couldn't get worse, it gets worse. Faux Noise lawyers had claimed Rupert Murdoch had no direct position at Faux Noise. This basically was a lie. The judge in this case is not a happy judge.
.....

A judge on Wednesday said that he would appoint a special master tasked with determining whether Fox News withheld crucial evidence in the defamation lawsuit filed by Dominion Voting Systems.

CNN reports that Delaware Superior Court Judge Eric Davis on Wednesday repeatedly expressed "exasperation and frustration" with Fox News' attorneys while lawyers representing Dominion delivered a presentation alleging that they did not receive all of the information they should have during the discovery process.
