The politicians tie themselves in knots and get it tight from the public;

Cologne Mayor's 'code of conduct' to prevent sexual assault angers many.

Amidst the controversy and protests following a series of sexual assaults in Cologne on New Year's Eve, the city's mayor has waded into the debate with a suggestions for how women can help avoid danger, which have proved highly controversial online.
Her proposed guidelines included sticking to a group of trusted acquaintances, asking for help from others and informing the police. But it was her suggestion that women should keep at "an arm's length" from strangers that has triggered most outrage on social media, with the phrase turned into a hashtag - #EineArmLaenge - on Twitter. Thousands of messages have been posted using the phrase.

The main charge being made against her online was that Reker was blaming the victims for their behaviour, rather than the attackers themselves. "I can't believe the Mayor of Cologne's response to mass sexual assault is to victim blame," read one tweet, and "No, no, no, no. We do NOT blame the victims," read another, both reflective of the general sentiment on the network.

Bonkers.

And many have been reduced to human slaves and the future, in terms of the environment and human health, is being traded for the present wealth.
What do you mean human health? The longevity of Western society has never been higher, more and more diseases that once killed 100% of those afflicted are today history. Environment? I have faith in human nature and his science.

Cancer rates increase every year.

Asthma and diabetes rates increase every year.

Yeah, I want engineering calls made by engineers. The Challenger wouldn't have gone boom if that was followed. Your world would be full of challengers.

As for whether a company closes down and moves to China--yeah, you can put that to a vote. You won't be able to put it's failure due to an inability to compete with Chinese imports to a vote, though.

You are a hysterical joke!!

Just for your information: The Challenger was a top-down enterprise.

Then I certainly don't want to be in your world. It would certainly have exploded on the pad, probably taking a whole bunch of fools with it.

To use it as some criticism of democratic decision making is not only insane but it is funny too.

And if all workers had the choice, no companies would have moved to China. And no more would move

Again, the whole problem is top-down decision making.

That is destroying the planet.

I wasn't saying anything about democratic decision making, but rather about experts vs politicians. The Challenger exploded because non-engineers made an engineering call: whether it was safe to launch at that time.

In the real world you need to listen to the experts. The average person is very poor at this--thus a direct democracy will make very poor decisions in any matters that should be resolved by experts.

It's hard enough for the experts to convince a few leaders, trying to convince the masses is simply not practical.

Yeah, because every rocket the USSR ever attempted to fire off exploded on the pad, which is why we never had a space race, and they never beat us to any of the benchmarks in that race that did not happen.

Sarcasm unlimited sounds nice.

Here's a free lesson for you sweet pea.

Capitalism does just fine in non-democratic totalitarian China.

Capitalism has no connection to either freedom or democracy.

If those things exist it is despite capitalism they not exist not because of it.

No. Capitalism manages to function despite the totalitarian government. It would function much better if anything beyond the smallest fish weren't beholden to the party to get things done.

Worry about our congresscritters being millionaires? The Chinese equivalent are billionaires.

Oye! It seems indicative of the unique pathology infecting Western society in which its own, indigenous, population is held in contempt. To suggest that a non-European, or foreigner, is responsible for anything is a great sin. It's so curious to me how the West - and no other societies - has developed this self-hate zeitgeist. Multiculturalism is indeed a unicultural phenomenon. The host culture, apparently, has to endlessly apologize for its offensive existence while the replacement population is exalted as most virtuous.

Cancer rates increase every year.

Asthma and diabetes rates increase every year.

Cancer rates rise as we do a better job of dealing with problems that would have killed people before they got cancer.

Diabetes is mostly due to bad dietary choices, nobody's forced to eat the stuff that leads to it.

Yup.

Cancer is what kills you if you survive everything else for long enough. Dying of cancer at the age of 95 is an indication that you didn't die of pertussis at 3, of measles at 8, in an industrial accident at 15, in a motorcycle crash at 18, in childbirth at 25, of pneumonic plague at 28, of being stabbed at 30, of complications from influenza at 40, of a heart attack at 50, of liver failure at 75, or due to complications from breaking your hip at 85. An increase in such cancers is not a sign that people are in worse health than before - quite the reverse.

Popular exams in UK to be rescheduled to avoid Ramadan.

Some crucial GCSE and A-level exams will be rescheduled for the next three years to avoid clashing with the height of the Ramadan holy month, when observant Muslim pupils would be expected to fast.

While many exams will still take place during Ramadan, which this year is expected to start in early June, examination boards say they have held talks with Muslim groups and aim to avoid holding exams in the most popular subjects during the period.

It won't be enough.

It depends when cancer occurs. A person can get most of the other ailments later in life.

The Germans elected a clown who is one of those responsible for driving in immigration into the country. Due to a lack of security checks we don't know the backgrounds of many of these people.

Congratulations, Lieutenant Obvious; I hear your promotion is imminent.

The party may be racist but it is not racist to ensure security on one's borders and reject illegal immigrants. This is practiced all over the world and Europe seems to be an exception in some respects.

Case in point;

Popular exams in UK to be rescheduled to avoid Ramadan.

Some crucial GCSE and A-level exams will be rescheduled for the next three years to avoid clashing with the height of the Ramadan holy month, when observant Muslim pupils would be expected to fast.

They tie themselves in knots with PC bullshit to ram it up some sects of religion, then swiftly set that bullshit to the side in order to accommodate certain other religious sects with equally mental bullshit.

If the ramifications weren't so serious one could laugh it off.

They rescheduled a test? Yes, the ramifications of this are huge and the end is nigh. It's not like any other religion gets special treatment, except for, you know, all the national holidays that are rooted in Christian belief

Panic more; it really helps others take your alarmist rhetoric seriously.

Not only are the UK authorities careful to avoid exams falling during Christian festivals such as Easter and Christmas; they don't even allow classes to be scheduled at those times. This despite the fact that the movement of Easter from year to year plays havoc with the scheduling of school term start and end dates.

I would prefer to see both religions told to get knotted, and the school calendar to be written without regard for either; but given that Christians are recognised, it only seems fair to also recognise other religions' holidays.

What is not mentioned here are the tax hikes in socialist countrires such as Sweden or Denmark to pay for their social services. Americans as would Australians riot if they had to pay those kind vof tax rates.

That's a fair criticism. It just comes down to how much we value fairness in society. Me personally I think it is important. And I agree with Untermensche that having an unfair society risks undermining democracy.
