Facebook to Ban Atheism from their Social Network over Cyber Bullying

Yeah, that website seems fishy to me. I saw this story also:

http://www.iflscience.org/scientist-atheist-cult-eats-babies-fetuses/

Since March 2013, agents from the FBI and the FDA have been tracking, and later infiltrated the organization known as ‘Fetus Feed Us.’ Ran by Ramjan Hirdool, famed author and physicist, the organization fronted as a non-profit in support of stem cell research. Through various web sites and crowd funding, including Craig’s List, Fetus Feed Us has been transporting, sorting, storing and freezing fetuses in a variety of mutative states for the purpose of consumption.

Methinks this website is bogus.

Fishy? I think it's more in Onion territory--never meant to be serious.

It's not "fishy" at all. It's obviously satire (or what passes for satire these days). It took me until the list of banned words to be sure, I admit, but it is, in the end, bloody obvious.

banned words said:
Sky Daddy (or variations of)
Darwinism
Muh (or variations of)
Durr (or variations of)
Mur (or variations of)
Snopes
Logical Fallacy
Fallacy
Beastiality
Godless
Religiotard (or variations of)
Various out of context religious text.

Brontosaurus
Big Bang
Hot Pockets
Crystal Meth
New Fedora
Trolls
Chemtrails
Conspiracy
Gawd
The Pope Said
Any reference to Godless Machine
Any reference to Snopes

But Snopes is one of the banned words! The article said so!

;)

I could believe that chart of complaints simply because fundamentalists tend to take even a mere admission of atheism as persecution and bullying.

I knew immediately, however, that Zuckerberg was not banning atheism from FaceBook. Mark Zuckerberg is an atheist himself.

Thanks for the correction.

However, it is clear that Facebook moderation is extremely hostile to atheist pages. My brother runs an atheist page on Facebook and he's constantly getting banned and has to constantly get into fights with moderators to keep his page up and allow him to continue posting.

While Christian pages also have to fight to stay up due to constant "reports" of "abusive" behavior, it's genuinely worse for atheist pages than for Christian pages or Muslim pages, and from what I've been told, this is mostly due to Facebook moderators in other parts of the world (e.g. South America) who regard any criticism of religion to be "abusive" and thus deserving of moderator action.

Here's an op-ed piece on the cost of all these petty "reports" of "abusive" behavior:

I'm not surprised about the censoring. Some of my Facebook friend's posts magically disappeared one day.

Here are 2 groups that I think have some interesting skeptic content:

My brother complains about this crap all the time because he has to waste so much of his time dealing with this nonsense, however reading the linked op-ed enraged me. Facebook moderators weren't able to save a 7 year old girl from rape because they had to spend hours digging through "He criticized my religion!" and "that fish looks kind of like a penis!" reports. :(

Oh my god. Do you think they can see other dogs farts too or even human farts?

I will feel embarrassed farting in front of my neighbours dog from now on!

I bet only their own farts look nice to them.
