Foodie Thread

Macaroni-and-nothing is probably fairly healthful, but it tastes a little boring in my opinion :D
That type of food is an exception.
And pretty much the only thing I'd use a cheese sauce on. Heck, I don't even use dressing on salads much.
Even there, I will only eat my pasta with a rich tomatoe sauce sprinkled with Grana Padano cheese. Or, spaghetti alla marinara is great too, or just with prawns in a garlic and olive oil dressing.
There many ways to eat pasta of all shapes and sizes.
Yeah, but I really love the cheese sauce, especially on pasta I just made from scratch. I make it once every couple of months, at most. I'm more thinking about how to make it more efficient, calorie wise.

I grew up with a few habits from my parents, but have learned where wasted calories can be cut. I'm now trying to see where wasted calories may exist in a cheese sauce.

I don't worry about wasted calories. It is the waisted calories that I have to worry about.

What I mean is as such. There are two types of calories, one that offers taste and one that is there just because ignorant inertia. Removing the later helps the waisting away of people.

Look - every girl knows a few basics when it comes to calories:

1. When you break a biscuit in half - all the calories fall out so it's okay to eat. But you MUST break that biscuit in half first.
2. Chocolate is a vegetable.
3. Donuts follow the same rule as number 1.
4. Donut holes are okay to eat because they are the hole of the donut so therefore there aren't any calories in them. :D

Don't worry too much about calories, but watch the fat, sugar and carbs. I know people who have dropped 10-15 Kg by doing just that and nothing else.

I used to love Three Men when Charlie Sheen starred. Can't stand Ashton Kulcher so don't enjoy that either if it's any consolation.

It was too bad Charlie Sheen was killed.

Oh wait... he didn't die.

Too bad.

The funniest bits in both those shows are the cleverly worded references to the circumstances of his leaving 2 1/2 men. It's a giggle.

Who hasn't tried eating the smaller white nectarines yet? If not you don't know what you're missing. Best of all the stone fruits, although the medium white peaches are delicious as well.

Well, I must say that that would have to be the best sweetest chicken curry I have ever made.

In addition to the usual spices, I added apple and sultanas to the mix, and I used Orange Juice instead of chicken stock. It was yummy.

Now it can go into the freezer (unlabelled) to add to the 'Friday Mystery Dinner' collection of frozen meals.

I don't worry about unlabelled foodstuffs like that as they generally get eaten within a few months anyway, so there is a complete turn-around of meals about every 3 - 4 months.

I meant food and other products sold to unsuspecting customers by most supermarkets who are unwittingly paying a religious tax.
