Derek Chauvin is trying to get a new trial.

What do you think will happen?

Nothing?
A new trial?
A Trump pardon that he might not be able to do anyway?

His appeal appears to have no new information to submit, and his previous appeal was denied. I can absolutely see Trump pardoning him though - unfortunately.

Glad I got in before the inevitable whataboutisms this thread will cultivate from the usual suspects.

He should not serve any more time than Mohammed Noor. Noor deliberately shot an innocent person, instead of accidentally killing a thug. But unfortunately for Noor, he does not have a woke skin color, ethnicity and religion.

In case you didn't notice (probably didn't because you lack the observational capability), this sort of thing generally happens with all police officers who get convicted of killings.

There are plenty more examples that go against your narrative but you wouldn't give a shit.

Noor deliberately fired his weapon —in mistake. In neither the case of Justine Damond or George Floyd should either have ever been in danger of their lives at the hands of police officers.

The death of George Floyd, imo, is far less forgivable because it wasn’t done by accident, firing in error at the person who called the police. Derek Chauvin and the other officers continued to restrain Floyd who begged for mercy, defying pleas from the crowd and from George Lloyd. It was a cold blooded killing, not a panicked one by someone who should have known better.

“Woke skin color” and calling Floyd a thug seems out of a character for someone who is “color blind”. I’m surprised you failed to mention Chauvin’s conviction for tax fraud so we can have a better picture of his character.

Chauvin cruelly killed a legally innocent person. He earned the 2nd degree unintentional manslaughter conviction. His first appeal got tossed. I’d be surprised if this one has a different fate.

You left out he lied in his initial police report about the incident as well.

There is that whataboutism from the usual clueless suspect.

Hey, little Derec, don’t forget about this post.

To listen to you, the white man is oppressed in USA. Have you thought of medical remedies to change the skin color that's holding you back?

Are your inanities just hyperbole? At some point hyperbole melds into stupidity.

I thought the issue with Floyd was as much that Chauvin was a thug who had countless complaints on abuse that went entirely ignored as it was Floyd's death. Had Chauvin been properly managed for abuse, he could have easily had the training that would haven't led to the death of Floyd.

But the complaints of blacks went ignored.

But police officers never lie and we must always believe them for some reason.

We are so lucky to be alive during America’s Golden Age of Scumbaggery.

I hadn't thought of this possibility: Trump could find ways to apply pressure or otherwise influence the outcome of the trial. Then, afterward, he and his followers could say, "See, look, we were right."

Why hadn't you thought of it? It's exactly what he did about his little "stolen documents" debacle, and is generally accepted his as SOP.

It definitely was the problem: Chauvin was a thug who should not have been in the police force, at least until his overly aggressive behavior had been corrected. Which probably means never. That tape was absolutely brutal. Thao, imo, was almost worse than Chauvin as he jeered at the crowd who begged for Floyd’s life. The other two officers were relatively new to the force. It was very shortly after one joined the force and they felt they were compelled to go along with Chauvin who was in charge. They did not do the right thing but I can see how they felt they had no choice. Of course they did have a choice to refuse and of course they were culpable.
