“Woke skin color” and calling Floyd a thug seems out of a character for someone who is “color blind”. I’m surprised you failed to mention Chauvin’s conviction for tax fraud so we can have a better picture of his character.

I thought the issue with Floyd was as much that Chauvin was a thug who had countless complaints on abuse that went entirely ignored as it was Floyd's death. Had Chauvin been properly managed for abuse, he could have easily had the training that would haven't led to the death of Floyd.

But police officers never lie and we must always believe them for some reason.

Why hadn't you thought of it? It's exactly what he did about his little "stolen documents" debacle, and is generally accepted his as SOP.
It definitely was the problem: Chauvin was a thug who should not have been in the police force, at least until his overly aggressive behavior had been corrected. Which probably means never. That tape was absolutely brutal. Thao, imo, was almost worse than Chauvin as he jeered at the crowd who begged for Floyd’s life. The other two officers were relatively new to the force. It was very shortly after one joined the force and they felt they were compelled to go along with Chauvin who was in charge. They did not do the right thing but I can see how they felt they had no choice. Of course they did have a choice to refuse and of course they were culpable.
