If ATC staff are not paid, planes should immediately stop flying. Ground the fucking lot until the dollars come back.

Why the fuck would anyone work for the promise of future back-pay? The agreement is, we work, you pay us. No pay, no work. Simples.

What gets me as much is that congress and the president get paid regardless. Those pay checks didn't stop. When there is a shutdown congress and the president should immediately go without pay.

I don't think Trump is taking any pay in his second term as well, so there is little incentive for him. But, Congress?...yeah.

No, he's just demanding 230 million dollars from the DOJ for his troubles with them. During a shut down and trying to take away SNAP benefits.

One has to wonder at anyone who thinks a half-million salary has any relevance whatsoever for someone literally grifting billions. Presumably @thebeave was attempting some sort of sarcasm, but I'm sure there are MAGAts who think Trump's foregoing salary is a sign of his generosity, and desire to help the little fellow.

I got the letter this week, (actual physical letter) notifying me that my SNAP benefits are "on hoild" till further notice.
Oct and Nov benefits can not be paid "at this time". So no commitments.

Note that the shutdown ended when 8 Dems decided to cave. That also shows that it was a Democratic shutdown.

Irrelevant. Who voted to shut it down? The Dems don't have enough votes to shut it down. It was a boycott. Those 8 Dems were scabs.

Yes, they do. For every charge against Rump that I've heard about, I've also heard that they are 'fake news' 'politics as usual' or 'everybody does it'. MAGOTS haven't seen the documents and 'All journalists are biased' (lasers or not). 'Faux reporters are always right, but sometimes they exagerate'.
