Has there ever been as US administration that created so much mistrust with Russia as is there is today?
(apologies to all the elephants in the room)

Previous administrations have worked to create trust, or at least respect that...but....

I don't think they created it so much as allowed events to slip through their grasp.

Or to use an cricket analogy they have been given lbw (leg before wicket)

Padding up? I don't think so.

In what part of the world did they "allow things to unfold"?

Caught in the gully having an agricultural swipe, more like it.
Off to the pavillion

I honestly can't figure out what you're getting at.
i could be wrong, but whereas before US Presidents tried to foster trust with Russia, until Bush who at least respected it, now the present administration is actively fostering mistrust.

It just seems like a profoundly stupid idea...but what would I know?

Isn't it Russia doing the job of creating mistrust? All American presidents have always been massive dicks. Possibly with the exception of Jimmy Carter. Reagen getting a special prize for being the biggest dick. But none of them is even close to the level of dickishness that Russian/Soviet leaders were. All massive massive cunts. Putin isn't even the worst one in the lot.

Yes, according to western media.

Maybe...but how?

In the US any threat to total domination is seen as a disaster.

Russia is doing exactly what the US has been doing ever since the end of WWII.

Meddling into other peoples business and causing misery.

Invasions, exploitation, overthrowing governments, promoting right wing revolution, supporting dictators and tyrants, maintaining puppet governments, killing or imprisoning the puppets should they waiver or prove unreliable -- basically riding roughshod over all the world.

I don't recall US promoting right wing revolution all over the world.

Are we going to completely ignore W unilaterally withdrawing from the ABM Treaty and then want to put missiles in Poland?

Funny how right wingers overlook the 8 years of Bush!

One must also remember the Davis and Palmerston Administrations provoked the Union to shelter the Russian Fleet in New York and San Francisco in 1863 (preventing a World War).
