George Zimmerman -- acquitted by a Florida jury over the death of Trayvon Martin -- was involved in a shooting in Lake Mary, Florida, on Monday, police spokeswoman Bianca Gillett said.

Zimmerman apparently suffered a minor gunshot wound, CNN affiliate WESH-TV reported, citing the police chief.

The shooting is under investigation, but it appeared to be some type of road rage incident, Gillett told CNN.

OK, I have no information about any of the facts in this case, but let me be the first to state unequivocally that Zimmerman did absolutely nothing wrong and is, in fact, the hero of this story.

Please. Zimmerman was clearly being threatening and the other guy was just standing his ground by shooting him through a car window.

In this case, the fact that the shooter knew who he was shooting at, is a point in favor of his defense. Prior knowledge that a person is armed and likely to shoot, makes shooting first a reasonable act of self defense.

Strange how that works.

His lawyer confirms that he was not shot, the only injuries are from the glass. Apparently road-rage related.

But what if the other guy was 100% white instead of 50% white? Doesn't that drastically change the determination of who was in the wrong?

Very true. I jumped to a conclusion before determining the relative whiteness of everyone involved. That was a mistake on my part and I will hold off taking any position on the matter until this can be established.

The man shouted to Cornell: "I shot George Zimmerman, call 911. I don't have a phone."

Cornell said the man didn't know whether Zimmerman was hurt. He called 911.

According to Cornell, the man told him that he and Zimmerman have had three disputes. This time, Zimmerman waved a gun and the man shot at him, according to Cornell.

The current rumor is that George flashed a gun at the other driver who just stood his ground by shooting first.
