Her story is something like this:

"I don't like to carry two phones and...ugh...we all know that you can't get two email addresses on one phone...oh wait, maybe you can but I can't for security reasons...except, ugh...I insisted I have an I-Phone that does not have the State Department Extended Security (State blackberry does)...except I have already admitted to routinely using two cell phones two weeks ago and I forgot...ugh...ummm... besides my lackeys cant carry an extra phone...and my own convenience trumps protecting national security...er..right?"

"Besides I deleted half the emails...cause like they were to Bill and personal suff like yoga...I mean he has written two emails in his life but they were really...really...really long...and I have determined the server will remain private and you have to trust me...and HEY EVERYONE WHAT ABOUT THAT LETTER TO IRAN, THAT WAS SOMETHING EH?"

"And, I'd like to thank that Turkish reporter who asked my obviously planted question regarding if I were a man would I be treated this way...cause it underscores my opening pander over women's rights...which is my code to women SUPPORT ME in my time of need".

"Finally, I would remind my critics that if there are more emails that should show up, they will. i mean, remember the missing Rose firm records that mysteriously appeared on a white house dining table?

Did I mention I have a Jew in my background, and it would be nice if theyd support me too?"

Max: Really? Don't you think she could come up with better lies than those? Dogs don't eat cell phones. She forgot to tell us to check with NSA...they already have it all....or don't they?

Hey, I was just paraphrasing her press conf. today ...

If that is true, she doesn't seem to have anything better to say. The Republicans may just have to run against someone else in 2016. I hope so. We have had enough of these dynastic presidencies. The Democrats need someone who can be respected and trusted...that's a tall order in these times where these candidates are all sold out to the highest bidder. Clinton doesn't serve their actual need. I hope she gets dumped in time for another Democrat that has some promise and coherent policies.

Given the choice of hand waving over something HRC wrote in an email or hand waving over the inability to read her emails, I'll take the latter.

I think the real amusement is the fact that wingers get their panties in a twist if Hillary so much as wakes up in the morning.

What is with conservatives and not understanding how to create humor? There is definitely a source of ... umm... humor with the email issue, but the OP seemed to not grasp how to... err... present it.

It is incredible. When Hillary Clinton dies, there will be traffic jams across America as right-wingers race to be the first to piss on her grave. Thousands will likely die in road rage incidents amongst "friendlies".

They just won't stop hating Clinton. If she used a private email that is wrong and should be investigated. Fine. The problem is, even when Clinton doesn't do something wrong, the right-wingers piss their pants over the dumbest stuff.

I thought there were some leftwingers who were upset about this.

Not here, of course, but other places where leftwingers have principles like the belief in transparent and open government and public officials not being blatant liars.

It's something to be upset about. It's important for there to be a full record of government correspondence, especially at a high level. For the sake of accountability and transparency as well as there being a complete historical record for future generations to have access to.

Every unpaid intern knows that you don't use your personal email for business correspondence and the Secretary of State can have people carry her extra phones for her if holding two were actually somehow marginally inconvenient or she couldn't find a way to get hotmail on her official phone. Clinton is going to be the next President and a blase attitude towards official record keeping is unacceptable from her.

It's actually possible to access two email accounts on one phone!

By some miracle of technology I have been doing it for years.

I think some people in the media are vaguely aware of this so that particular lie did not go over so well.

Ya, you'd think she could come up with something better. Even if she was completely blindsided by the initial story and hadn't anticipated this ever coming up, she had at least a week or two to prepare before her press conference and all of her high-priced advisors couldn't come up with something more than this? That's just lazy. If you want to work for the President of the United States, you don't phone shit in like that.

The facts make it pretty inescapable that she did this entirely to avoid scrutiny so she's just throwing out chaff and counting on enough people being willing to put on their partisan blinders to carry the day.

CLINTON: "When I got to work as secretary of state, I opted for convenience to use my personal email account, which was allowed by the State Department, because I thought it would be easier to carry just one device for my work and for my personal emails instead of two. Looking back, it would've been better if I'd simply used a second email account and carried a second phone, but at the time, this didn't seem like an issue."

THE FACTS: If multiple devices were an inconvenience in the past, they may be something of an obsession now. Clinton told an event in California's Silicon Valley last month that she has an iPad, a mini-iPad, an iPhone and a BlackBerry. "I'm like two steps short of a hoarder," she said. She suggested she started out in Washington with a BlackBerry but her devices grew in number.

Smartphones were capable of multiple emails when she became secretary; it's not clear whether the particular phone she used then was permitted to do so under State Department rules.

Well, good work by her then. :)

Next up...

Hillary was having an affair with the US Ambassador to Libya and arranged the attack to cover it up.

The Ambassador was known to smoke cigars and Hillary is known to wear dresses, two facts that eerily mirror another infidelity scandal from the last Clinton administration.

The rest of the evidence is in those "personal" emails she's hiding.

We'll get to the bottom of this, even if we have to completely make up the story.

Hey, when Vince Foster can start waking up again then so can Hillary.

the legal requirement to immediately preserve e-mails from nongovernment e-mail accounts was not made mandatory*until*nearly two years after she stepped down.
From The Washington Post

Oct. 30, 1995: The State Department Foreign Affairs manual is updated to reflect the emergence of something called “electronic mail.” The manual noted: “All employees must be aware that some of the variety of the messages being exchanged on E-mail are important to the Department and must be preserved; such messages are considered Federal records under the law.”
Colin Powell did not do this. I like Colin Powell, so I am certainly not trying to play gotcha or throw him under the bus. My only point is that he used a private email account exclusively, and did not preserve any of the emails. In response to the current witch-hunt against Hillary Clinton, he said that he cc'd State Department officials on his emails and assumes the recipients's emails were preserved, but his own emails were all deleted. Hillary Clinton also cc'd State Department officials, but also preserved her own.

Nov. 4, 2005: The State Department updates the Foreign Affairs manual to state*that “sensitive but unclassified” information should not be transmitted through personal e-mail accounts. “It is the Department’s general policy that normal day-to-day operations be conducted on an authorized AIS [Automated Information System], which has the proper level of security control to provide nonrepudiation, authentication and encryption, to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the resident information,” the manual*says.

The above policy revision did not apply to Colin Powell as he left the position in 2005. Condoleeza Rice (2005-2009) rarely used email at all, but when she did she used a State Department email.

Personally, I think it would have been easier for Hillary Clinton to simply use the State Department's email system, but I note that the above is a separate policy than the one being discussed now, and is concerned with security, not record keeping. The "personal email" Hillary Clinton set up was a highly secure server. It isn't as if she was using aol or something. And it wasn't even her "personal" email account. It was a secure email account specifically set up for her State Department position.

Nov. 14, 2014: President Obama signs an update of the 1950 Presidential and Federal Records Act. The law expanded the definition of “federal records” to specifically include electronic communications. The law also clarified the responsibilities of federal government officials when they use nongovernment email systems, which includes copying an official record or forwarding a complete copy of the e-mail within 20 days of transmission.
Nearly two years after Hillary Clinton has stepped down from the position. I will also note that even the updated Records Act doesn't appear to forbid the use of "non-governmental email systems" - it only requires copying to the official record (which Hillary did both contemporaneously and immediately after this update.
